The
atmosphere
in
this
beer
garden
on
the
edge
of
the
forest
is
clearly
the
winner.
Sitting
outside
close
to
the
cooling
forest
in
the
nicely
decorated
garden
is
a
great
experience.
The
service
is
pleasant,
efficient
and
fast
-
with
a
personal
touch.
The
food
however
was
not
up
to
my
expectations.
I
ordered
the
Swiss
sausage
salad
with
roast
potatoes.
While
the
latter
were
quite
tasty
and
generously
portioned,
the
main
dish
was
an
utter
disappointment.
The
portion
itself
was
way
too
small,
and
the
cheese
was
hard
and
tasteless.
With
such
a
simple
and
traditional
local
dish,
everything
depends
on
the
quality
of
the
key
ingredients.
Here,
it
was
clearly
decided
to
go
for
cheap
and
low
quality
cheese
in
order
to
maximize
the
margin
of
the
dish
for
the
restaurant.
This
dish
is
a
Swabian
classic,
and
there
are
numerous
other
local
Swabian
restaurants
in
the
area
offering
the
very
same
dish
in
much
better
quality
-
and
even
at
a
lower
price.
Thus,
while
the
venue
and
service
was
enjoyable,
the
main
"event"
did
disappoint
a
lot.
Thus,
I
can
only
award
an
average
score.
Maybe
skip
the
dinner
and
try
their
"coffee
&
cake"
in
the
afternoon
instead?
This
way,
you
can
enjoy
the
"Distelklinge"
garden
atmosphere,
but
you
don't
have
to
deal
with
local
dishes
on
the
dinner
menu
that
unfortunately
fail
to
deliver.
