Not a brief history of Stevenage, but also once had an exhibition on dinosaurs. Entry is free. The museum itself is a little dated, but you can find out of amazing local facts. You could easily spend an hour in here if you had an interest in the area. Some odd displays, some areas rather dusty, but the museum does change up its exhibitions regularly. The museum also hosts events/classes and is in a convenient location if walking.

A highly underrated place. From wildlife and ancient times to present, it offers a great time-journey of the Stevenage area with a lot of interactive features as well as movies. Staff is really friendly and it is admission free.

Went to a craft activity, the staff were very friendly & understanding as my son has additional needs. The museum itself is laid out well and user friendly but a few things weren't working that was a shame.

There is everything of interest of Stevenage and the local area. Lovely people to tell you anything you want to know extra to the good information supplied in writing form and small films . Also throughout the school holidays and many Saturdays in term time there are special interest events run for children.

A beautifully experience . Knowledgeable staff who made the tour enjoyable. The afternoon tea was one of best I've ever had. Freshly baked cakes. I requested no butter and that's what I got. Well done everyone.

Great place if you want to learn a bit of Stevenage history or even Hertfordshire in general. Nice, quiet and relaxed environment, as well as many interesting exhibits to keep you preoccupied.

Stevenage Museum is a hidden gem. The interactive displays make history come alive, and the staff is so passionate about sharing the town's story. It offers a fascinating glimpse into Stevenage's history. I'll definitely be recommending it to others.

Took grandson to see the miniature trains. It was raining all day, so perfect for this event. He absolutely loved it and asked so many questions, which of course opened the flood gate of the miniature railway club members lol. He decided it was time to go after an hour and a half. Quaint little museum.

Went to a lunch time lecture by a local author: Local author Gemma Hollman's new book is out. Two of the most influential women at the court of King Edward III were his wife, Philippa of Hainault, and his mistress, Alice Perrers. Find out how they wielded their power and used their femininity to control those around them. Very interesting and informative.

Lovely museum and friendly staff. My 6 year old loves coming here and we always feel welcome. Colouring in was available last time we visited and sometimes they do a free craft session.

I really like Stevenage Museum. It's quite small and only takes an hour to look around if you read everything fully, but it's informative and interesting. They do good kids' birthday parties too!

Small but well designed museum. Good selection of artifacts from the palaeolithic to the present day and everything inbetween, even a natural history display too. I visited with my two young daughters who were entertained by the many activity sheets and interactive stations along the way, items of clothes to try on, a mosaic to create, rubbings to have a go at, buttons to press etc, all went down well with them. The two members of staff we met were lovely too. We'll worth a visit.

👍👍 August 2023. Lovely playground equipment. Both our little ones had a great time this afternoon. Zip wire needs some attention.
