Luckily been through the lock on work boats mostly and don't usually have to wait too long for the transit.

It's fun to come here in summer to watch the boats transfer from lake Mälaren to Saltsjön. Sometimes there are really big boats going through so that they need to open the bridge as well. If you have a toddler that is crazy about cars, trains and boats you could have great fun here.

This lock is the only way (in Stockholm) for boats to go between lake Mälaren and the sea now when the smaller lock between Södermalm and Gamla Stan is closed due to the Slussen renovations. The lowest bridge opens when larger/taller boats pass through. Be prepared to wait 10-15 min if that happens.

Was actually on the under the bridges tour when we got a chance to experience the rising and empty of the lock. Great to visit during midsummer and enjoy the longer days of sunlight.

This policy of opening "vid behov" is total f**** nonsense! So many people, pedestrians, bikers, cars, bus passengers, waste hours every summer because this bridge opens all the time! Passage for boats is too cheap and doesn't reflect the cost of time of everyone else. There should be an opening schedule even at daytime, say twice per hour.

Do a city tour on a boat and check out the lock system - good learning! Great views on the ride of the city and the narration about stockholm and its culture and how it got to 'now'

This sleepy lock is a good place if you want to see lockage in action. There is no or very limited traffic outside of summer time.

Very cool to watch the lock system funnel the boats in and out. Nice sitting area to the east of the locke.
