This
Scandic-chain
hotel
is
absolutely
brilliantly
located
in
the
heart
of
Stockholm.
The
building's
old
courtyard
has
been
covered
and
converted
and
is
now
the
breakfast
(and,
on
occasion,
at
other
times)
restaurant.
Talking
about
which,
the
breakfast
is
great
with
lots
of
choice
of
everything
(including
gluten
free,
lactose
free,
vegan,
etc..).
The
food
in
the
main
restaurant
is
sublime
and
I
cannot
fault
it.
Both
restaurant
staff
and
front-of-house
staff
are
brilliant
and
very
helpful
(and
multi-lingual)
and
always
on
hand
to
help.
There's
a
small
gym
and
sauna
(tell
reception
if
you
need
it
switched
on
as
it
isn't
always
on).
There
are
(well-stocked,
well-equipped
and
well-appointed)
meeting
rooms
and
conference
centre.
Bedrooms
are
decent
(but
a
standard
room
is
rather
small)
but
everything
worked
as
it
should
(as
is
becoming
the
norm
around
the
world,
room-cleaning
is
on
demand).
In
fact,
everything
in
the
whole
hotel
is
clean
and
tidy.
So
if
everything
is
so
great,
why
not
5
stars,
I
hear
you
ask?
Well..
I
gather
the
building
is
owned
by
the
Salvation
Army
which
means
some
legacy
alcohol
restriction
policies
are
still
in
place:
the
lobby
bar
is
open
only
4
hours
per
day
and
only
serves
beer
and
wine,
nothing
else.
Hotels
should
be
able
to
serve
(in
the
residents'
bar)
alcohol
at
all
times
and
to
their
guests'
wishes.
But
alas.
