If you deliver poorly at work, it is your responsibility to step up.” Whereupon I cancel the doctor's visit. I think that this treatment is exactly what makes people (mostly men) not dare to show weakness, or ask for help. Which is probably one reason why many men instead stay together for too long, and in the worst case kill themselves in sheer desperation rather than try to ask for help one more time and be diminished or ridiculed.
