This place is wicked cool. Great museum capturing a time gone by. Very informative and well taken care of. I would certainly go back and this place is awesome for all ages. Dogs appear to be welcome as well.

Wow. Didn't know what to expect. Amazing history, displays, with many attractions and plenty to see and do. A must for families with children. Touring the last of the whaling ships was impressive. You can walk the village buildings and a few places to have lunch and/or dinner.

Beautiful place- also there for the boat show. The museum combines old authentic with contemporary exhibits well. I would suggest combining the hours of the book sale and boat show more compatibly, as I would have purchased several books. Maybe next time. The ships at the docks are magnificent and the imagination runs wild!

We didn't actually get to visit, even though we'd planned to. The veneer? Glass exhibit was the only part open and they told us we'd have to pay full price but wouldn't get to see the rest because it was closed for maintenance. Sorry, maybe in another lifetime. I'm sure we would have liked it immensely, but it was a huge bummer to be friend-zoned upon arrival.

Neat place, didn't care for the section on whaling but the rest was interesting. Getting to tour the boats was fun, especially the fishing boat that's normally closed to visitors. Took a couple hours to go thru and read everything. Some buildings were closed.

Overall a nice place to visit with kids who are interested in understanding how ships are designed and riding on a boat etc. As it is a very big place so better to plan what all things you want to cover before hand so that you will not miss important things. Plan it for one day so that you can cover museum and mystic village. They have boat workshop where kids can build and buy the boat that they make for 8$. They have canteen where you can manage your lunch but do not expect very nice food like outside restaurants. With entry ticket you can get on to cruise n different kind of boats to try out on your own. But for doing all these you have to have enough time.

Been to mystic 2 other times first time going to the museum. It wa a very fun and educational exhibit.a lot of walking but worth it.to see the life style of the villagers in the early 1800's was amazing. The buildings were very interesting to explore .unfortunately we ran out of time and didnt get to explore all exhibits we arrived at 1130 am and the buildings started closing around 5. Get there a little earlier .it definitely a full day experience to bring the older children.lots of fun and excersise.

We spent a perfect fall Sunday at Riverfest. The boat ride aboard the Liberty Navy launch was informative and entertaining.

This place is great. Docents are very knowledgeable and friendly. Buildings and displays are informative and interesting. We spent a whole day here. Perfect for nautical or history buffs. Don't forget to check out the planetarium!

This was great. Much better than expected. They have an amazing range of ships which they restore dutifully and a fully working shipyard and wood mill. My only criticism was some of the signage. The website says the seaport express was running bit it actually wasn't. Some things said to meet for a tour but really went clear where

Was only in the souvenir shop, almost all items were overpriced and often not nice. I found the museum too expensive and what you see from the outside is probably not worth the entrance fee ($30 is too much)
