During the summer i'm almost every weekend in the eifel with my motorcycle. This is a standard stop for me because of the very delicious split pea soup with sausage in it! Even with 35 degrees they will make it!

Interesting place to visit. It was quite crowded when I was there. Try the traditional pea soup they make that is also vegetarian. (Perhaps even vegan but was hard to ask) and try their local beer.

A historic monastery, on top of a hill. A nice church that can be visited, and a really nice restaurant, filled with the smell of their famous pea-soup.

Very nice place. Abbey with restaurant (pea soup is the speciality of the house): You can eat there and also take coffee and cake.

A nice, relaxing place to visit. A good stopover for lunch during hikes through the Eifel-forest

We stopped for lunch and took a peek in the church. Food was ok but only cold food available. Shop was well stocked so we could get a few souvenirs

The shop sells some nice Monk Produced™ products, like honey, herbal liqueurs, cake etc. and the canteen does some pretty tasty standard German fare, worth a stop during your hike to refuel and take some piccies.

A beautiful winding road leads trough the Nord Eifel up to this old abbey. The abbey itself can't be visited, but the abbey restaurant is famous for its 'erbsensuppe', peasoup. Also the fresh salad with forel is very good. The abbey itself is not open for visitors, but there is also an interesting shop inside. And please take a moment to enjoy the scenery!

A really great place to visit if you are in the area! We were looking in the gift shop when a guide asked us if we wanted a free 30 minute tour. We did the tour and the kind sir explained the whole history of the abbey and mariawald. Really interesting! After the tour we visited the restaurant. And we ate a delicious soup.

Worth a visit, with a well-preserved church and a very walkable so called ‘stations of the cross’. Local spring welcomes you on the terrace of what is now a take-out bistrot (where you can consume local beer and german fast food).

Surprisingly quite tasty pea soup, goulash with mashed potato and custard pudding dessert. Eur 38 for 2 adults and 1 lid incl. drinks.

The soup and hotdogs were decent food nothing to complain about but nothing extraordinary. The monastery was cool if the history interests you. Bit far out of the way for me to recommend though.
