The gym is very good and the trainers are friendly but I was very disappointed when it came to cancelling my membership. It was impossible to get a reply to emails or contact the gym on the phone. Adequate notice was given and all my fees were up to date, but they continued to take money off my account so I cancelled my debit order with my bank. More than 6 months later and still without any communication from them, I receive an email from their debt collectors! This is very poor business practice.

In particular one lady with short blond hair wearing spectacles extremely rude, no respect for members. Due to her filthy behavior yesterday, I summarily canceled my membership and some of my friends attending there as well. Worst attitude ever

Definitely the best Gym in the whole of the Cape. Your instructors becomes your friend, your home away from home with the most beautiful views you've ever seen. Highly recommend them.

I joined Bay Fitness recently and I must thank the Team for their excellent service. They assisted me with the equipment, supplement suggestions and an assessment to develop a training program catered for me. It is the first time in my life that I joined a gym and they made the introduction so easy. I look forward to going to the gym daily. With my Training program and meal plan in place I am ready to start my fitness journey. Great to be back. Staff friendly and helpful. Wait was not even 5 minutes. Hygiene and safety protocols in place from the gym's side. Makes you feel safe and secure. Pity not all members respect the safety protocols. Walking around for long periods of time (not just taking a breather) and talking to others without masks on. I just kept my distance. Wont let those inconsiderate, reckless idiots spoil my gym experience. Been looking forward to this for months. Thanks guys. Youre doing it right!

I really enjoy this This Gym. One of mine and many others complain about is the music played in this establishment .So demotivating. Same old every day.

Does the job some of the machines are worn out can't see the amount of weight you're lifting. The staff are very friendly and will always help. They do the basic scan and sanitizer in the front but many people don't wear their masks during workouts like moving in between machines and the weights don't get sanitized as often as they used to.

Gym has good facilities but the customer service is extremely poor and dishonest. Subtracting more money than agreed upon and the no one is able to help rectify or explain.

Pretty good gym. Nice enough facilities. The cardio machines need to be upgraded. Also, soap dispensers in showers need to be fixed. Otherwise, reasonably happy for the price. Edit: they fixed the soap dispensers and the cardio equipment is now top of the range stuff, really nice and a UPS on each machine so no effect with load shedding. Best gym ever. Very happy.

It's a good gym. No complaints other than I would very much like to scan my own tag upon entering, instead of having to hand it over to them to scan it when the infrastructure is clearly at the rolling gates to allow this. Virgin Active is better in this regard.

Go here everyday 5 days a week. Friendly staff, variety of equipment. Always clean and great music if you forgot your earphones. The view of the ocean while on the treadmill is incredible. You feel comfortable working out here. I love this gym.

Pathetic business, failed gym that is now trying to make money by handing over people to debt collectors for debts that do not exist. Had a 6 months contract with them, which after the 6th month I did not renew & now I all of a sudden owe them 8k. Never enter into any contract with this failed brand.

Notice was given to cancel membership which was acknowledged, but Planet fitness keeps on debiting my account and of today's date they owe me R1990-00 Very poor standards of email responses to my ongoing queries about my refund.

Planet Fitness has been nothing more than a pain in the neck since the unfortunate time that I decided to visit the branch and was effectively tricked into a contract. Planet Fitness has now decided at the height of the epidemic to deduct membership fees, and not even the frozen rate, but full price. Aside from the fact that they are opportunistic at best, they get a double dip in December without expressly explaining that to you at time of initial signing, nor do they keep to the timeline they explain. I was to have been deducted the following month, instead they deducted within days. I moved away further 50 kms, and they refuse to cancel the contract, they refuse to honor it by building a club nearby. If one thing's become clear through this whole ordeal, if Planet Fitness wants it, they'll take it, they will enforce unreasonable terms even if one of their cunning sales people did not fully explain the extent and terms of the contract, I was surprised in December and I am still surprised. Do not sign anything these vultures poke in front of your nose.

The only Gym in Gordon's Bay. Adeqaute equipment, not much in the sense of personlised workout plans or instructors. However it is very close to my house and convenient.

Friendly service, air con is working well and a general community vibe. Lots of free weight stations and dumbbells, also has a bunch of top of the line cardio machines

Friendly reception staff, enough free weights etc. And has a female designated section for more separate privacy which I like compared to other gyms. Lacks in enough, various and updated leg press and quad equipment (just standard) not ventilated enough in cross fitness area. And bathrooms are not up to date like Virgin. Change areas are so dark, poor lit, and toilets are open areas to change areas which is horrible with lack of privacy. So I never use there bathrooms. Miss Virgin Active on that. But good enough and spacious giving everything you need for your money.

Great gym. An extra R100 pm lets me bring any friend I want everyday... The staff are also really awesome and is really nice getting to know each one and their journeys.

Excellent Gym with excellent services (I gymmed at the Cape Town Plattekloof and Durban Westwood branches.) Everything at the Planet fitness including the colour scheme (yes even this makes a big difference to users) helps you work out better and feel better. Other global gyms e.g. virgin active.. have nothing on PF in my personal opinion.

Absolutely pathetic is the perfect way to start this. I joined bay fitness in August 2023 and went to the gym every day. After my first month I saw that my first debit order did not go through so I went to the gym the next morning and paid cash. Next month comes and the debit order is working perfectly until the day when I walked in and they are "under new management" so I have to get a new contract and pay my second joining fee within 3 months so obviously I said there is no way and left. Ever since I've been getting emails from debt collectors claiming that I owe more than R900 even though I didn't even have a membership for long enough to owe them R900 and I PAID it's been about a month of no communication from bay/edge at all only speaking to debt collectors because as most of us who complaining know, useless useless useless customer service. I would rather become an obese than set a foot in that gym again

Edge Fitness handed over past clients to a debt collection agency on the day they took over Bay Fitness and are unwilling to help resolve the issue regardless of evidence. Be VERY careful signing a contract with them.
