A spacious and country side living and ceremony destination with beautiful building block in the middle of fields and lush green trees shrouding this location. I must say that, It's just like living within nature. It's little bit far from main city life and usually you need your own transport to be here as you might face no mobile signals inside and around the hotel. Hopefully you can assume how much you'll feel living within nature and with your family or partner came with you. Ample parking available with many other facilties of Swimming, spa, bar, restaurant and indoor- outdoor leisure and celebration areas. I would say if you want to live your time, for sure come and enjoy the moments but if you are some party or social person, you might not like this space to spend days.

Enjoyed our stay. A lot of positives, Cracking place for wedding, lovely back drops. Conference rooms galore, A lot of negatives but try not to let it spoil the stay. Our room had double doors boarded up. Window frames rotted away. All unable to open. Dining in was good at breakfast poor at evenings. Over priced small portions. Think half as good as weather-spoons at twice the price. Shame really, bit more effort could have been on the money.

Sauna, steam and pool out of use unfortunately. But did have a lovely full body massage. The young ladies in restaurant were very curtious and attentive. They were clearly enjoying their job. The food was amazing, served hot and full of flavour. Well done to the chefs. The rooms were clean and spacious. Well done, we will visit again some day.

We had a fantastic experience at Walton Hall. We went there for our mini-moon and stayed in room 6 - WOW OH WOW. What an incredible place with the most breathtaking views. We were greeted with a lovely note and box of chocolates congratulating us on our wedding, very kind! We didn't get a treatment at the spa but did use the pool and sauna - lovely. All of the staff were really welcoming and polite - it was a pleasure to deal with them. Service for food was a little slow but it was very busy and we were too relaxed to care! Only a couple of tiny tweaks to make it perfect such as: making sure the complementary coffee pods in the rooms are filled (there was only 2 types available and 3 pods in total), more wine options would've been nice at the bar and I'd love it if they could find the facility for couples treatments in the spa. Overall a fantastic stay and we will definitely be back for our anniversary!

Our two night stay at the Walton Hall Hotel estate was delightful from start to finish. Parking was easy, the receptionist was efficient and friendly. Our room was very large and comfortable and near to the bar and dining room areas. Dinner both nights was excellent, as was the breakfast both mornings with plenty of choices available. All staff were friendly and pleasant. The hotel and grounds were very well kept and the historic building and estate helped make our stay a memorable one. We plan to return before too long!

Attended a spa day and afternoon tea with a few friends on 19//02/2022. Unsure as to why the reviews are negative but I guess everyone has their own experience! Pool was warm, enjoyed the steam and sauna too. Afternoon tea was delicious & so filling. Free hot drinks available throughout the day which was a bonus. Service was superb cannot fault it, staff were attentive & very pleasant. We were given a room for prayers which was very much appreciated. Atmosphere was so warming and relaxing we really did enjoy a good natter in the bar area! Overall excellent service!

Lovely old stately home, just like staying at a National Trust property. We had upgrade room in original part of the hotel which was beautiful. Whilst cold on arrival due to no double glazing, it soon warmed up once the heater had been put on. Restaurant staff were so friendly & helpful, particular mention to young Ukrainian girl Anna who was brilliant and very helpful, and her mum who made the delicious deserts. Food was tasty. Spa treatments were very good, but the treatment room I was in was particularly cold, even the spa lady was cold. Spa facilities were overcrowded for its size, no room in sauna, steam room.

Stayed here quite a few times now. Lovely location, easy to find and lots of space. Car parking not a problem. Check-in always seems to take a while but not a big problem. Rooms are dated but clean and comfortable. Quite a lot of noise from other rooms and guests arriving or leaving early. Sound proofing could be improved. Dinner was busy but we were eventually served and looked after. We ordered drinks at some point during our meal and it took a while for them to arrive. Breakfast was a bit of a let down to be honest. Not an awful lot of continental selection. Very few cereal options and only a few different fruits to chose from. Cooked breakfast looked good.

The hotel is spacious, warm and clean and the pool and gym facilities were very welcome. Breakfasts were good but we found the dinner menu uninspiring (more like bar food) and the dining room area lacked any atmosphere. Our room was spacious, warm and well-appointed but my sister's accessible room was very cold on arrival and the shower head and alarm cord both positioned far out of reach of a disabled person - perhaps some training for chamber staff required?

We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights in December for a Christmas party. The room rate was £109 Inc. breakfast. The staff were friendly and welcoming, providing a good service. We ate in the restaurant one evening and I had pre booked a table for 6 people. This was essential as it was fully booked. We had a 3 course supper with drinks and 3 bottles of wine. With a tip, we paid £55pp. The food was very tasty, but it could have been hotter. Maybe if the plates were warm, this would have helped. Breakfast was plentiful with a buffet offering continental options and the usual bacon, etc. Only scrambled eggs were available, but there were vegetarian options. We stayed in the 'new' part of the hotel, and our room was warm and spotless. There was an iron and board - very useful, plus hairdryer and essential toiletries. There is a spa, although we didn't use it others thoroughly enjoyed the facilities. The grounds are stunning and set in a rural location. Dogs are welcome in most areas, and there are great walks around the hotel. Thank you for a good stay.

We had an amazing stay at this place. I booked as a surprise for my boyfriend and staff made sure that everything ran perfectly. The room and service was lovely. The spa facilities and swimming pool weren’t busy as mentioned in some reviews I read before. The staff at the leisure centre, hotel and restaurant couldn’t be more more friendly and accommodating. We had diner and breakfast and the food was delicious. We were particularly happy that they let us use the spa before check in and after check out, this was definitely a bonus. I would stay here again and highly recommend to anyone looking for a nice and calm getaway. We left leaving very relaxed and refreshed.

Spent one night here and had a fabulous nights sleep. Bed really comfortable. Plenty of facilities for charging your devices and soap and shampoo in dispensers so plenty of those. Breakfast was the usual hotel buffet fayre with lots of choice no matter how diverse your needs. All set in a lovely location too. Got a decent deal on the stay so all in all no complaints from me. It’s pet friendly too if you’re that way inclined! Oh and staff were great too.

Missing light bulbs in room. Kettle had seen better days. Beds were comfortable. Staff were friendly. There was a fly issue in the bar and restaurant. (Shouldn't be flies at the end of October!?) They were on the food. 🤢 Location is beautiful, however, the spa needs upgrading.

Great hotel with lots of potential but the staff let this place down. Reception staff were great though! We ordered drinks at the bar it took 20 minutes. We had to help the bar man who didn’t know what a gin and lemonade was. I wanted to go round and help him. Management you need to train staff properly, as the poor lad was like a deer in head light.

Room was small but all we needed. AC was broken but Lena on reception was very helpful and friendly and found us a fan. In fact all the staff were lovely. Food was really good. Spa not so much though. Seemed rather shabby with poolside showers not working, most of the wristbands missing or broken on the locker keys in the changing rooms, along with most of the clothes hooks snapped off. And no jacuzzi?!

  • 5/5 Rachel D. 8 months ago on Google
The reception staff her absolutely wonderful. There was a problem with the booking, not caused by the hotel, however the reception staff dealt with it easier and professionally and saved the day. And we were very grateful. Wonderful rooms and restaurant, beautiful grounds. A very relaxing stay all round, I will book here again.

22/04 Whilst we stayed, the fire alarm went off in the early hours of the morning at around 02:00 for an hour disturbing our sleep. All the guests were stood outside with no clue what to do as no staff were there to provide direction. There was no one at reception. Looks like they went to save themselves first except there was no real fire and we were told it was a fault with their new system. Reception apologised the next day and said management would be in contact presumably to offer some kind of compensation for a night's lost sleep. I emailed in a few days later and contacted their social media team who took my details also. One week later not heard anything from anyone. Assume they are hoping the issue will just go away. Poor customer service. Disappointed. Update 07/05. They are able to provide unhelpful replies to 1 star reviews. Yet over 2 weeks later have not responded to my in person complaint and 1 week later have ignored my follow up email. Update 05/09. Some time has passed & still no one replied to my email. I rang twice asked to speak to 'Sharon Wood' who is never available. I left her a voicemail & she still hasn't called me back. I also contacted their social media team who claim to have passed my complaint onto Sharon Wood. (I assume Sharon needs some coaching in how to deal with complaints). I am aware that other guest who experienced the same incident were compensated. I feel I have no other choice other then to continuously leave bad reviews until someone has the courtesy to deal with my complaint.

The surroundings were amazing, the room was clean and spacious. The spa was most welcome and all staff were friendly and helpful. The restaurant was great offering a wonderful breakfast with plenty of choice. We had an evening meal which was delicious.

A lovely hotel in a beautiful setting. Room was nice, big and clean. Staff were all lovely and happy to help. The pool was extremely warm and really nice. Gym was nice but small with minimal equipment. Breakfast had a great variety and all cooked well. Overall was a lovely stay and would highly recommend.

Me and my friend spent a weekend here and we couldn’t fault it. It was a birthday celebration for us both and we were greeted with chocolates in our room when we arrived, room was nice, had everything we needed. The grounds are lovely and there is plenty to explore. Dinner was lovely, food was great, reasonably priced for any extras that you might of ordered, staff were very friendly and polite, we was also greeted with a glass of Prosecco for our celebration which was a lovely touch, Our waitresses both evenings were Evie and Anna and they were so lovely! Also to note in the evening we sat in the bar area and two lovely gentleman served us Finley and Parth and made me a cocktail which wasn’t on the menu, he was very accommodating. Next day we had breakfast which was lovely and offered plenty of choices, then we had our spa treatments, both a facial and a back scrub and massage which was lovely! I had Charlotte and she was great! The spa/gym receptionist was Natasha and she was super sweet and welcoming! Overall our stay was great, couldn’t fault it and would highly recommend. Would happily return for another occasion, definitely worth ignoring previous reviews and deciding for yourself!

A very impressive big house, with rooms in various blocks in the grounds - much bigger hotel than we expected. Our Privelege Room was huge and very clean, although could do with updating. Very comfortable big bed! We ate in the restaurant both nights, and sat in the pretty conservatory overlooking the formal garden. The food was delicious and the young staff were really efficient and friendly (special mention for Jack!). All credit to them for their hard work and great attitude as the restaurant and bar were exceptionally busy. We didn't use the leisure club, as there are so many good attractions to see nearby. With some investment, this hotel could go from good to great quite easily. The exterior paintwork lets it down, and the room furnishings are dated and a bit shabby. That said, we had a very good-value break, and enjoyed our stay. Would recommend.

A relaxing and enjoyable weekend. The rooms were neat and clean. The spa facilities were very clean too. the dinner and breakfast was good too. the staff kindly made us eggs to our preference along with veg sausages. Overall good breakfast selection. the only downside was that they didn't offer any robes within spa facilities if you didn't have treatments booked.

Lovely setting, corridors/ rooms could do with a refresh as felt a bit run-down however was very clean and had everything we needed. Access to swimming pool was lovely to have but very warm so not ideal for exercise. Pool provides clean towels at no extra charge which was a plus. Breakfast was delicious with lots of choice.

I read a lot of the reviews before visiting this hotel. It worried me slightly but as the trip had been booked for a while wasn't going to change my plans. How glad was I, the hotel, the staff, the service, the room and meals were excellent. Loved the decor in the parts I saw, can't comment on the spa. Dining room was very comfortable to sit and eat and relax. The room was 10/10 for cleanliness and the little extras, tea, coffee, slippers and gown were a lovely gesture. Even the toiletries supplied were a great idea, although the shower gel had run out in room 105, just used the hand wash by the sink. The outside seating area was a pleasant surprise and would have been used if staying longer than the one night. I can't speak for other rooms but I would definitely return to this hotel and request the same room, possibly for 2 nights if Travelzoo have another offer. We'll done 👍👍

I purchased a spa break for my partners birthday and was a little worried after reading some of the reviews...I had nothing to worry about! Our room was lovely, the grounds were absolutely beautiful, the treatments we had were super relaxing, our dinner/breakfast was lovely and the staff were very friendly. Only thing that could do with improving was the spa facilitates which could do with a little makeover and the waiting times at dinner were a little on the lengthy side (it was a busy evening in fairness!) but this didn't affect our stay. Thanks, would definitely come again :-)

This place is quite unique. A old castle like architecture is renovated to hotel. It certainly gives a royal feeling. All the staffs were very warm and helpful. Hotel is at the lap of nature. Ideal for weekend vacation. I would request to improve the following for a better experience: 1. Windows in my room are closed. Therefore , it turns very hot in summer, and I am not sure air conditioning works properly. 2. Also, one instance in morning, I found that hot water was not working. This location is about 2.5 hrs drive from London central. But , the location is exceptional if you are looking for nice calm vacation in the lap of nature.

Booked a Spa Day for a chill and catch up with 3 friends. We enjoyed our day especially our treatments. Vanisha our Therapist, Very professional, friendly and informative. She made our stay a relaxing visit! Spa area lovely. Only disappointment. Leisure area, no jacuzzi, little dated and changing area didn't smell very fresh! Would book another Spa day, maybe 2 treatments next time!

The welcome desk staff (young guy, I didn't catch his name) was rude at arrival. He refused to check me in around half 2 as the check in don't open till 3pm, but checked in other guests in the same wedding group. When we eventually check in, he just didn't even look up from his screen and gave the key card and direction to the room. He didn't even mention that breakfast was include or the timing for breakfast or anything. He just ruined the mood at arrival. The room was really good. But the phone didn't work and no information on check out timing or breakfast timing available. I couldn't contact the reception because the phone didn't work in room 22. Next day I made my way to breakfast after another guest informed that it was include in the deal. Unfortunately, I missed the breakfast by an 15 min. When I asked the restaurant staff if I can grab a fruit for my two year old. They lied and said they run out of fruits. During check out the women was really nice and helpful. She overhead me complaining to a friend about the restaurant refusing fruit. She went and grabbed me banana. She was very friendly.

Went for a spa day. It was nice enough and back massage was lovely. Paid for a pedicure, which seemed overpriced for what turned out to be toe nail painting. Gym was a tired and could do with being refreshed in the weights section, though cardio equipment was fairly new. Afternoon tea was supposed to be gluten free, this was checked multiple times, as the bread etc seemed like normal bread. Was assured it was, but my tummy can confirm it wasn't. Service was also pretty slow, especially behind the bar. The grounds are lovely to walk around. Overall, it was a nice enough day (with the exception of causing me tummy upset due to due gluten intolerance) but there are improvements which could be made.

Had an amazing 2 day break The Warwickshire Mercure Hotel & Spa. 5 stars! Fantastic value for money. Had a 2 night stay with a bottle of prosecco per night in the room, breakfast and 3 course dinner included in the price per night, and access to the spa facilities with a discount on treatments. The perfect way to unwind with friends before celebrating a wedding. The staff were so friendly, polite, helpful and overall wonderful. I will definitely be returning with friends soon. Thank you to the hotel, bar/restaurant, and spa staff. We had an amazing time.

Reading through some of these reviews, I wonder if you were at the same place as us 🤣 We thought the place was lovely, nicely decorated (not in need of refurbishment as someone said!) yes a couple of bits need a neaten up but that is all! The grounds are beautiful, had it been sunnier and drier we would have gone for a long walk. The spa was lovely, the treatment was amazing the staff in the spa were really helpful and lovely. Yes the changing room had towels and robes left in it but to be honest if guests made the effort to put them in the laundry box at the front of the spa then that wouldn't be a problem!! The food in the restaurant was amazing! Faultless! Staff were extremely helpful and and full of smiles. My husband had steak and was happy to pay the extra £10 as it was one of the best steaks he'd had! We willmost definitely be going back 😁

We had a lovely stay at the Walton Hall Hotel. The room was great, with our own terrace overlooking the lawn. The bar and restaurant were fantastic, a really great setting. The spa facilities, even though not big, were nice and well managed. The hotel has great grounds, with a river that flows by - a really nice place to sit in the sun. Also, it's a great base to visit Warwick Castle.

We stayed over at Walton Hall as our friends were getting married. First off, I will say this is an excellent venue for a wedding. The buildings and grounds are wonderful and the private church was superb. Everything was well catered even if the staff were a little "green", they did all they could to help and the event went very well. So big plus tick. However. When it came to breakfast time the pain was there for all hotel guests to share. We arrived at 9.00am, so not late, and already the orange juice was practically run dry. No problem, I'll fetch a tea. Ah, there's a huge queue as one machine is out of order. No worries, I'll get some toast. Wait, no side plates. OK, I'll get cereal, no bowls! I ask the staff for some plates and bowls and eventually 6 of each appear only to be descended by the other guests who had all been waiting. I grabbed a bowl and some cereal but wait, no spoons! You're kidding. I pinch one from another table and enjoy my rice crispies! Now for some hot breakfast. No plates, no bacon, no sausage. I can see the queue for tea has died down, I'll get some tea. You're joking, no mugs!!!!! Look, I know this is a first world problem but this is pretty much fundamental to operating a breakfast service. All in all, it was a very nice stay, and the staff were helpful, if at sometimes a bit bewildered.

The hotel is a little tatty but we got a great deal and loved every minute. You pay for what you get. We loved the balcony, bed was massive and comfortable, shower great, swimming pool a real treat, the grounds utterly spectacular. So relaxing. Staff are superb. We requested an an extra hour for check out so we could have one last swim and it was granted with no fuss which we really appreciated. The food is average. I would change the menu each night for variety. Breakfast average. Loved the way wildlife is considered on the grounds.

Friendly staff on arrival on front desk. Very efficient check in service. Room was lovely. We paid a bit extra for a superior room and were pleased with the little thoughtful 'extras'. STUNNING location, which we got to explore in the daylight. Really felt relaxed walking through the beautiful grounds. Spa facilities were clean and lovely to use too. My only recommendation would be to have more staff on at meal times. Staff shortages meant customers had to wait for food/drinks orders to be taken at dinner time. Breakfast there was a lack of basic utensils in the room (such as milk jugs, tea spoons). Not a major moan at all, but something that could be easily fixed. A lovely stay overall though. Would love to return!

The setting is stunning, very peaceful and the building looks elegant as you approach it. The staff were all friendly. Signage to the hotel is not clear, we ended up at the hall despite following the arrows we saw. Check in was quick but it wasn't explained that we needed to set up a tab for drinks from the bar, time of breakfast or how/where to book dinner. We were given a sheet of information to take away and read instead. Our room was incredibly hot, despite having temperature control (not sure if it was supposed to air con) and a fan the room got hotter as the evening wore on the thermostat read 28.5. There is no window to open so it was really claustrophobic. Food was good in the restaurant. Breakfast was plentiful and with a good choice.

  • 4/5 Jane C. 11 months ago on Google
Our room was in the old building which is beautiful. The view over the lake was a bonus and very peaceful. Unfortunately this was the saving grace as they newer part of the building despite being clean and tidy was seriously understaffed as well as the bar being understocked. The staff dealing with the restaurant were lovely but were on a hiding to nothing as the wait for food was unacceptable. The spa was fully booked but the pool was quiet when we went in which was a treat. We booked the hotel through Secret Escapes which advertised it as being a spa hotel however, no treatments were available. More money needs to go into the old building which is a great wedding venue but for people staying like us if they had a bar/ restaurant here as well that would be perfect! We had a lovely time at Walton Hall but it desperately needs a rethink in some areas. Room wasn't made up either during our stay.

The Privilege room was nice and very close to the bar and dining room. Bed was massive and comfy. Tea and coffee making facilities and a cooler in room. Bathroom fine. The outside of the hotel is looking a little tired and need painting and some of the rotten wood replacing, which they did seem to have started doing by the SPA. Food was lovely but be prepared to wait they are not the fastest. The staff are all lovely and bar and restaurant are appointed. A bit of a wasp issue in the outside area behind the restaurant and bar. When we were there they had quite a few coach parties booked which filled the restaurant which didn't help the speed meals were delivered and also made breakfast a bit of a lottery as they struggled to fill the buffet trays up all at the same time. Enjoyed it would recommend.

We had the pleasure of a 1 night stay at this very fine establishment. The reception area was welcoming and staff were very professional. The restaurant service was very efficient and staff were warm and attentive. Breakfast was full of choice and catered for all. The grounds were beautiful and plenty of visible wildlife which was a pleasure to see. The location was fantastic and scenery amazing. Upgraded room was superb quality with full amenities supplied. However the only area of disappointment was no opening windows and the air conditioning was not sufficient due to visit taking place on a warm July day/evening and the night was uncomfortable. Having taken a stroll through the grounds and the churchyard and taking in the stained glass windows it would have been nice for the hotel to promote its history/origin as I researched this myself and was pleasantly surprised and in awe of its history.
