As
a
local
of
over
20
years
who
lives
and
works
in
Downtown
Stuart,
I
was
overjoyed
when
it
was
announced
that
Waterfront
would
be
taking
over
the
old
Mulligans.
Without
a
doubt,
the
renovations
to
the
space
are
top
notch,
with
beautiful
views
overlooking
the
river,
but
that
is
all
you're
really
paying
for
at
the
end
of
the
day.
Although
I
had
previously
visited
Waterfront
for
drinks
and
appetizers
at
the
bar,
this
was
my
first
time
being
seated
at
a
table
for
lunch,
and
to
say
I
was
disappointed
would
be
an
understatement,
especially
given
that
it
was
clearly
a
slower
day
for
them
based
on
all
the
empty
tables.
Call
me
crazy
for
expecting
that
after
being
seated
and
ordering
drinks,
it
would
not
take
nearly
20
minutes
to
receive
them;
additionally,
we
had
placed
our
food
order
at
the
same
time
as
our
drinks,
which
took
so
long
to
be
brought
out
that
I
had
to
ask
to
have
my
order
boxed
to-go
because
the
wait
to
actually
eat
my
lunch
ate
up
the
entirety
of
my
one
hour
lunch
break!
Sorry,
but
nothing
on
their
already
limited
menu
could
possibly
take
an
hour
to
prepare
(MAYBE
if
they
were
swamped
with
reservations,
but
as
I
mentioned,
it
was
a
ghost
town
during
my
visit).
When
we
expressed
our
dissatisfaction
with
how
long
everything
was
taking,
our
server
responded
with
the
explanation
that
"everything
is
prepared
fresh",
which
is
why
it
took
so
long.
Sorry
again,
but
how
is
"preparing
food
fresh"
any
different
from
what
any
other
downtown
Stuart
restaurant
is
doing
(aside
from
the
fact
that
neighboring
restaurants
may
be
able
to
do
it
in
a
much
more
reasonable
amount
of
time)?
Overall,
Waterfront
is
a
good
place
to
go
if
you
want
a
nice
atmosphere
to
enjoy
a
drink.
Waterfront
is
also
worth
a
visit
if
you
don't
mind
waiting
over
an
hour
for
three
tiny
tacos
that
come
with
a
side
of
chips
for
$18
(heads
up
guacamole
is
an
extra
$3).
