Don't come here for service. You'd expect to be greeted when you enter a restaurant but not here. The whole kitchen just stares at you while their front of house staff just did their own thing. Restaurant was slightly busy during dinner service but there were plenty of staff so we are not too sure with the lack of service. Almost all the wait staff looked like they weren't keen on working that night. Same goes for the head chef. Food was below average. You'd expect something decent for the price they charge. We ordered pasta of the day and and clam spaghettini. The clam came out raw as if they just got them out fresh from the ocean - see picture attached. I am all for supporting local businesses but if you can't maintain decent service and choosing who you want to serve based on skin colour I am afraid you should just close shop.

Loud music to start off with. The table was wobbly. I mean wobbly like you cannot lean over on it. Told the staff and he said he couldn’t fix it as if it was supposed to be. Had 89buck chef’s selection, the food was served like factory conveyer, way too quick, they served 2nd pasta before we finish the first one, well i presume we were eating too slow? So they had to push? Anyway i tried this place for special night but will never return. Giving 2stars because wine was nice. Oh they don’t have any local reds, just let you know.

I’ve visited many times and the quality has always been a standout, as has the service. The chefs menu at the moment is top notch, the 3 cheeses spaghetti with truffle was very indulgent and I could easily have had another plate. The fact you can struggle to get a booking tells its own story. The place has a vibe, it’s like being in a London brasserie. Busy, lots of people to serve but that didn’t distract the service - it was quirky, humerus and fun. Love it. See you again soon

I've been to Lulu few times now over the last few years and I can say every time it's been nothing but great. The pasta was definitely delicious and very much 'al dente' (this was the special 'gramigna' with fennel, orange and sausage', the nonnas meatballs and polenta was perfect as always. The cured kingfish and tiramisu were also delicious. The wait staff were lovely, welcoming and gave great recommendations.

I was looking forward to eating at Lulu after hearing some good reviews. The service was prompt and wait persons were friendly. The first dish.. cured king fish I thought was a little rubbery and blend instead of the soft fresh taste of fish. The spaghettini with clams was jammed packed with flavour. The veal ragu was rather ordinary and slightly on the salty side. The serving size was small for the price we paid. The tiramisu was more cream than cake with not very much coffee. Overall an ok experience.

Lulus is great for a special occasion! One of the few places in Perth with authentic pasta dishes. I come here regularly and am never disappointed. The staff are always the same and really know their stuff, lots of fun and not overbearing. The atmosphere, service, decor, food and wine are always beautiful.

Magnificent. Critically acclaimed. One Chef's Hat restaurant. And well deserving. I've been a regular at Lulu's since their inception. The staff are passionate about their pasta. Everything is made in-house as it should be. An intimate, warm interior dining space. Friendly service. The restaurant often has a full dinner service. Bookings recommended. The staff read the requests which is always appreciated :) Luca, the somm is passionate about Barolo. And will always have a stellar suggestion by the glass. Wishing him all the best for the WSET-3. Follow their instagram, it will often show the daily special. I recommend the Chef's menu. You can request a menu dish make an appearance. (I love the meatballs and polenta) Pasta al dente with rich, flavoursome sauces better than I've had in Italy. Don't forget dessert. The panna cotta texture is usually perfect but the Tiramisu is my favourite in Perth. It is also my daughter's favourite. You won't ever leave the chef's menu hungry. Other tips: There is ample parking in the Barker Street/Forrest Square carpark. Lulu La Delizia is in the walkway in between Forrest Street and Rokeby Road.

The staff are some of the most knowledgeable, fun and professional staff I’ve encountered anywhere in the world. The venue it self is small but super inviting on the inside, feels like you’re eating at a friends house. Made more inviting by the friendliness of the staff and the open kitchen. The outside legitimately feels like you’re sitting in a piazza in Italy. On a beautiful day you could sit out there all day. The food is flawless. We’ve (my wife and I) made our way through the entire menu and tired almost every special they have and never have I had anything that wasn’t a solid 10/10. The chefs menu is an awesome experience. I lose count of how many dishes came out and by the end of the ride I had a belly full of the best pane e sugo, scallops, short breads, squid ink donuts (savoury) 2 pastas and desert all washed down with an amazing red recommended by our waiter. We will continue to eat there on the regular and if you’re in Perth I suggest you try LuLu’s as soon as you can... you won’t regret it!

Not often you visit a little Italian pasta resteraunt and you can leave with such a satisfied feeling but Lulu La Delizia does that! Small menu but good choices and delicious tasting food. A must do if you are around the area, friendly service and cosy service.

Took the fam to Lulu for dinner. They were very busy. Service was very good I don't know what the other reviews are on about. We got the $79 a head chefs selection. A little disappointed we didn't get the ox tongue salsa verde that had been around but I probably should have requested it at the time. The entrees were excellent. The pan e sugo was delicious sourdough with cultured butter. The squid ink bread balls with mascarpone and caviar were ok. Flavours were fighting each other a little and couldn't taste the squid ink. The scallops and pear dish were delicious and a highlight. The beef carpaccio was great. The two pastas brought it home. The corzetti and papperdelle were both amazing. The desserts were good but because I've had the D.o.c espresso tiramasu it didn't come close. The wines were all very good. Attentive and excellent service. Thanks again.

Very disappointing on all levels. The main 2 pasta dishes were nice but a bit heavy on the salt. Service was rude and at times made you feel stupid if questioning prices of wine. Bottled Wine prices way over the top and $35 for a glass of white for the only Chardonnay on offer too much. The wine list doesn’t give you the maker or year or actual name of wine making it hard to choose and our $80 wine was average. We don’t have any issues paying that price for good wine. Ambiance was average. Too loud , food came out too quick and you felt rushed. We felt this was more about profit than service and good value. Plenty other alternatives.

Service was extremely good, food however was disappointing. We ordered the saffron spaghettini, tagliatelle and tiramisu. Saffron spaghettini Sodium bomb, we could not finish the dish due to the level of saltiness, pasta was not Al dente. Tagliatelle Everything was ok with this dish but nothing amazing. Tiramisu Not bad but the coffee was too strong for my liking. I still prefer tiramisu from Ciao Italia better. Will I come back again? Nope

Just another Italian restaurant? No, it is a team of passionate staff delivering a memorable dining experience to all who walk through the door. Even our critic kids were impressed with not just the quality of their dishes and cappuccino (yes they are picky with their coffee), but also the genuine respect shown by the wait staff. All the people serving us were friendly and helpful beyond what they were paid to. The positively cohesive culture permeates to their open kitchen and the food they serve. Their pasta had this homemade deliciousness that I’d wish I could speak Italian to praise it properly. An unforgettable evening that we’d like to go back to for more.

Absolutely beautiful!! The food was incredible, the closest food I’ve ever eaten that taste so much like my nonnis cooking! The flavours were amazing and quality great. We got the chefs menu and would 100% recommend especially if you’ve never been before. Great value for money when you consider the quality and flavours of the food. The waiter we had was also amazing, his service was next level and would return just based off his service! Definitely a place to get to if you appreciate good, authentic Italian food!

Nice food and pleasant ambiance, but what a rip off. The waiter could have mentioned prices before fleecing us for a $300+ bottle of wine. After talking to people about that, apparently I’m one of the lucky ones. At least it wasn’t $500+!!!! Don’t do that to your customers or you’ll lose them!

Ahhhhhh-mazing. This restaurant serves up delicious Italian food like nothing I have ever had in Perth before. The dishes are so well executed and the flavours absolutely divine. When deciding on a wine we were given a few options and able to taste to help make a decision which is not usually offered, so this was quite refreshing. The serving size of the entree and main was just perfect, except the tiramisu was huge so I recommend sharing it with someone else. A great restaurant, especially nice for a special occasion. I will definitely be returning 🤩🤩🤩

Pasta was absolutely delicious! Price was a little on the high end, but acceptable. The fried risoni was highway robbery however. $19 for two small balls with a diameter just larger than a 50c coin. They were tasty but it was literally $9.50 for a single bite.

Staff were very rude, food way too salty and wine way overpriced and just felt rushed the whole hour we were there. Use to love coming here but after more than one unpleasant experience, we won’t be coming back again! Thanks Lu Lu for ruining my birthday dinner.

Worst experience ever! Rude waiters that would come around to our table every 10 minutes to try and take our food away, one guy tried to take my popcorns three times from the table. And that’s after I told him we haven’t finished eating it. Three waiters came one after the other as soon as we sat down to let us know our table is only booked until 7.30pm. Then they started serving all the food, even though our guests haven’t all arrived yet. Asked one waiter for some water, he looked at me, turned his head the other way and pretended he didn’t hear or saw me. I have never seen such disgraceful services from an establishment such as this before.

I hate to say it, as it's hard enough to get a table as it is, but this is the best Italian in Perth. Simple setting under the beautiful Perth sky, with wonderful food and wine. What more can I ask for as I sit across from my wife, newborn and dog at my feet to finish the day.

Everything about this place was excellent. The host was chatty on arrival and very welcoming. Our waiter was excellent, made great recommendations, explained both food and wine brilliantly and picked out a beautiful wine for our tasting menu meal. Would recommend the chefs menu as you get a fantastic filling of really good, authentic, tasty Italian food. Will 100% be back.

Sensational food and sensational people. The food is that good it could be pretentious, but the team bring it down to earth, making the exquisite wonderfully accessible

Food is great however they overprice badly on the wine bottles, and they try to push hard to you buy whatever if more expensive, we end up buying a $75 bottle and after we saw it for $20 at a bottle shop, I undertand they need to make money of it, but 300% plus?! we also said we liked black truffles and the chef offered to make a pasta with truffle, we end up paying $45 for this little plate and wasn't even black truffles, it was summer truffles which has very little tasty and it is cheap :(

Dinner on a Saturday night at Lulu. I think the bar is set very high for Italian restaurants to impress, given it's a cuisine that is pretty tightly integrated into our culture. However, the food at Lulus was exceptional. Staff were highly attentive but relaxed. Negroni was great, although probably could have been average and I wouldn't have noticed at this point. The inside of the restaurant is modest in size, so be prepared for a relatively noisy affair, although one that is offset by the overall enjoyment of the experience.

Had the Chef’s Menu, incredible variety of food. We couldn’t select our favourite dish. The waiter gave great wine pairing recommendations. Drinks range is large, geared to lovers of fine wine (don’t come here for the $10 glass of house Chardonnay). Atmosphere was intimate and all the staff were friendly. I am very surprised by some of the negative reviews! I will definitely be back.

When you hear the value of testing menu, you want it. The reality was not there. I would not recommend for testing menu. Good pasta, but over seasoned and two ragu heavy flavor and salty dishes I had. Kingfish was a great one and fritter was a ripoff, tiny one piece. Scallop was really fresh and sweet.dessert was something missing on the plate. All dishes was tiny and service was not special or good enough.

  • 2/5 Jeff R. 2 years ago on Google
Food was great but tables are jammed in uncomfortably close and you can barely hear your fellow diners. Some simple sound absorptive material on the ceiling would help and surely some space between diners would be more appropriate in Covid times. Most disappointing was the young waitress who made a sarcastic remark to another member of our party when I failed to hear her over the noise.

Hidden away down a laneway. Great food and really good personal service by the waitresses. Music was a bit loud initially but lowered later. Wine by the glass on the high side but good selection.

Innovative and interesting menu. The coin pasta was a first for me and delightful. The best dish was the tartare / carpaccio and the home made olives from the maitre d's personal garden was a added benefit.

Despite its high ratings and awards, my experience at this restaurant left me scratching my head. The prices were through the roof, but the food didn't match the hype. Each dish felt like a letdown, lacking the wow factor that I expected. The menu boasted a variety of options, but nothing stood out as exceptional. It felt like I was paying for the reputation rather than the actual culinary experience. The flavors were ordinary at best, and the presentation didn't justify the hefty price tags. The ambiance and service were fine, but they couldn't compensate for the disappointment on my plate. Leaving the restaurant, I couldn't shake the feeling of being overcharged for a subpar meal. Despite the accolades, it was an underwhelming experience that made me question the basis of those high ratings. Sometimes, even with all the awards, a restaurant might miss the mark, and unfortunately, this one did.

Absolutely define hand made pasta, I could every single dish on the menu and it's definitely one of Perth's best. Friendly service, great wine list - not cheap so don't go expecting a casual mid-week eat but we'll worth it. Located in a Subiaco lane way, so parking is best in nearby streets.

Great pasta, nice intimate atmosphere and good service. Lulu la delizia is one of the only restaurants I’ve found in perth who does the pasta like you’d find it in Italy - perfectly Al dente and always consistent in the multiple times I’ve dined here. Only complaint I’d have is that I wish the portions are bigger because they are always so bloody good. Menu changes now and then so it is always worth revisiting to see what they’ve added and/or try any new specials.

Service 5/5 Food 5/5 Atmosphere 5/5 Saturday evening staff were ALL so lovely. They were friendly, fun, professional, genuine, and welcoming. Talking to them felt like talking to a good friend. The service they provided was sensational. I felt very spoilt even though they were just doing traditional duties of a restaurant. How they went about doing it had so much heart and soul in it. They were attentive and took extra care in their duties. We were recommended the chefs menu and it was exquisite. The flavours and textures of the entrees were unmatched. They were delicate and beautiful yet complex. It reminded me of my experiences at Wildflower, only the service here was a thousand times better. Not to mention the food too! This was my first time having a meal here. My first experience was over three years ago, however, I only ordered myself a tiramisu. And I’d say, the tiramisu I had last night was exactly how it tasted three years ago. The nostalgia with every bite reminded me of how GOOD it is. My partner and I have been having Italian food for the last few weeks, and this has got to be my favourite out of the lot. The experience was a whole was very refreshing. I haven’t had a positive experience like this in Perth in a long time. Thank you to all your lovely staff Saturday evening, for such a wonderful experience. We look forward to returning. 🩷

The service throughout the night was excellent. There weren't many vegetarian or vegan options on the menu, however the first question we were asked was whether we had any allergies they needed to be aware of - always a good sign when the chef and waitstaff are willing to alter the menu to cater to their customers' needs. Pricing was in line with other fine dining restaurants.

We really enjoyed our meal here. I felt like I was on holiday dining in a cobbestoned alley in Venice We ordered the set menu and thoroughly enjoyed it. My husband said the food was exquisite. Its not what you would find in your usual Italian restaurant. It was an unforgettable experience . The ambience, the food.. We will be back.

Attentive service, amazingly delicious food, and a comprehensive wine list. However, this a snug venue, so the tables are small and wooden chairs rather uncomfortable. The need to rush through our meal to make way for the next sitting was disappointing. The allocated 1.5 hours wasn't long enough for a couple to enjoy a night out!

Food and service very well executed, and they catered to a gluten free member of our party. But they are sooo strict forcing us to have the $80 menu with a party of 6 and then served up starters and 2x pasta dishes ie no real main course. Okay it was gnocchi but that doesn’t count as a main if it follows pasta.

They judged us for not buying dessert. They brought the check and held it up and judged us to our face for not spending more money. Maybe not all of us can afford it. They also tricked us into buying a $5 sliceof bread. It's like buying dinner from sneaky, pushy, used car salesmen. The portions are small. You don't need to put up with this for average food. Just walk to another restaurant nearby.

Small menu however what we had was superb. The wine list could do with expanding as there is way to much Nebbiolo. Some Primitivo would be good to have on the list.

If not for the amazing wine list that doesn't disappoint, I'm not sure if I would return. Customer service here is really poor - one thing I won't put up with is rude hospitality staff ... what a shame! One can still put up with bad service if the food makes up for it however the food was subpar ... very salty and rather small portion!

Oh my goodness, this was by far the best pasta I have eaten in Perth, so delicious in everyway. Would have liked more than one vegetarian main option but my god i could never complain for it was delicious I am salivating just thinking about it. Worth every golden dime. Fresh authentic Italian dishes that you will struggle to find outside of Italy. Highly recommend getting the chefs tasting menu especially if you are in a big group. Favourite dishes were the eel donuts, spicy crab pasta and the pannacotta. Definitely book before going as it’s very popular.

A nice eatery in Subi with friendly staff. Price is towards the expensive side. We were given 90 minute for the table and eventhough the food were lovely, it felt rushed. Our plate was taken when we were not finished with it and we felt like just a number by the end of our meal.

Small intimate restaurent with nice ambience. However we were given a high table and sitting on a high chair for the whole duration was not a comfortable experience. Had the chef's menu which was well presented- Small serves ,nicely dressed , but taste was average. Bad start for me from the first course as I had 2 mouthfuls with strands of human hair . Overpriced. May appeal to lovers of rustic Italian cuisine but not for me.

We went for afternoon lunch on Friday. They were completely full but made room for us outside undercover. They had heaters which were great as it was cold. The service was really quick and we got drinks straight away. The food came out soon after. Fantastic ingredients and tasted fresh. We had bread, anchovies, burrata and a selection of cured meats. For mains we had the tagliatelle ragu. I would definitely rate this place to anyone wanting decent Italian food and I'll be back!

Tasty food, well-presented BUT the servings were ludicrously small. When we'd eaten I was wondering if we should get a take-away somewhere! How much cost is involved in adding some more pasta to the plate?!
