The public areas on the main floor are nice but the guests rooms need updating especially the bathrooms. It was unclear to me why they would install new tub and sink faucets but not replace or properly fix chipped and cracked tubs and sinks. And the bathroom countertops were stained. None of us had ever encountered a Marriott with such poor quality guest rooms. The staff were all VERY nice and helpful. And the food was quite good. This hotel could easily be a 5 star hotel if/when they would update the guest rooms.

3 stars is not fair for the quality of service. That was 5 stars and the staff was amazing! 3 stars is for: 1. room was very dated and hot. A/C did not cool at all. 2. Location was not great - it’s a haul to walk to old town. 3. Mattress and bed absolutely uncomfortable. Flat and hard. Again - staff was amazing, but that didn’t help me sleep.

Amazing service great customer service. Karina and staff at the main reception very welcoming and helpful. Great job. As well breakfast is very delicious and the server Vinoth makes your day. Always smiling. Anastasia at the lounge is great. Very helpful. It is a hotel where you feel welcomed all the time. Home away from home.

What is going on with this hotel. My grandmas living room is more modern than this hotel. Of course, if you are lucky or booked it you can have great views on the river but then you are in the room and they are just dated. Green super old carpet with lots of disgusting spots on the floor, even older looking bathroom which is in desperate need of a renovation and not very friendly people at the check-out. Very honst? This was a bad experience.

Being by the river is nice. The hotel is older probably can use some renovation. The tub/shower is unusually high off the ground, so be watchful in and out. Service is hit or miss. Some staff are excellent some are probably in training… not sure. The place is about 40m walk from the palace but is close to the transit station. Happy travels

A very dissapointing experience. Let me first say the staff is very friendly, but the value of a hotel of almost 250 € per night is far below acceptable. At 2.45 pm rooms are not ready, at 8 AM next morning room service is knocking the door for cleaning. Confronting the 2 staff members with this action early in the morning they apologised by saying hotel management orders them to this. 8 AM!!! The terrace, one of the selection criteria for this hotel which is not close to the centre, was in the evening not accessible because of reservations and the next morning, having a business meeting there, we were asked to leave because of a group. Coming for lunch. After that we had our lunch but most of the selections were gone by the time we had our main course. And it was not cheap! Shame on you Marriott, i say this as a former gold member. As a guest don’t feel welcome here, only my money. Never again

We really enjoyed the hotel. Great breakfast and wonderful service….especially in the breakfast restaurant. However I did experience a rather rude receptionist, when I asked for help to send a letter. That is the only reason I won’t give 5 stars! We stayed in room 233 and woke up to the tree full of green parrots (parakeets), who would have thought you would see that in Germany. So much fun to watch :)

Major hotel with good amenities and staff are friendly. If you want water views make sure to check before booking as the description/photo on the booking page is somewhat misleading under certain categories. Also the hotel is a loooong way away from the old town and not a lot of restaurants nearby so prepare to walk/scooter a lot to get anywhere.

I stayed here for 4 nights and as my second time here, the service and food remain exceptional. The rooms are a little old and the aircon needs an update but overall a great stay. The lounge was nice and the food at both the restaurant and bar are great for a hotel. The bar isn’t quite a bar, it’s more of a small restaurant with limit standing room. Make sure to get the meatballs. Parking is tight but expected for underground car parks.

The employees are exceptional, especially in the executive lounge, the spa offers excellent massage service, the rooms are very comfortable, and the food is excellent and you have a beautiful view of the Nekar. The walk to the old town is about 30 min. Public transport is nearby, taxis will come to the hotel frequently. I found the staff to be friendly and they went out of their way to help make our stay very comfortable.

We came for the Christmas Markets, so the location was perfect for that. There wasn't much interaction with the staff, but the ones we did meet were very friendly. The gym was a nice size, especially for a hotel gym. It had a separate area for the weights and cardio machines. There is also an indoor pool. The breakfast buffet had a large variety of options and the food was good.

The hotel is in a perfect location, by the river, close to downtown and easy to drive in and out. Staff is friendly and professional. Dinner and breakfast options are good (and even have good wine). The facilities clearly are due for renovation, but the hotel doesa good job keeping them in good condition so that it does not cause trouble. Fitness facilities are spacious and good for a regular routine, and running out by the river is more than advisable. Maybe the most negative point is price. It is often pricey to a point where the price / value ratio is questionable.

Good hotel and very service oriented staff. Nice restaurant in the lobby. Nice view of the river. Good parking including chargers. Location is a bit far from the charming area of Heidelberg.

The rooms are already outdated and need a refresh. The breakfast selection is decent. There is a 24-hour gym and there’s also a proper sauna in the facility

Wonderful stay! Excellent and hospitable staff, very nice executive lounge, and a very good breakfast! Only thing holding back a perfect 5 stars the property is quite “tired” and location is a bit outside the old town. But the value for euro and incredible staff will make this a return location for me.

This was an exceptional hotel. Facilities are in great condition including an indoor pool, fitness center, and spa (with somewhat reasonable prices). The breakfast buffet was excellent as was the restaurant food in the bar. Every employee was so friendly and informative. Lea at the front desk was quite pleasant, and Rafael at the Pinte Bar gave us some of the best service we could’ve wished for. He served about ten tables at a time and yet we still felt like we were the only customers in the place. He was also full of advice for visiting around Germany. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.

We booked this hotel on very short notice. It was slightly more expensive and a little further from where we wanted to be, but decided to roll the dice. Great decision! Hotel is nice, room was pretty good. But DAMN, the staff here is next level. From check in to the bar to breakfast to check out - great people. Cannot remember the bartender's name, but this dude was slaaaaamed and still provided amazing service. We were there on Apr 29 - if you're the manager of this place - hire that guy to train staff at other locations, so good.

Nice, but dated hotel. Rooms were clean but in dire need of new carpet and furniture. Our TV doesn’t come on; not that we mind and we didn’t complain about it as we aren’t spending much time in the room. The view of the river was a plus and the restaurant was decent. Major complaint was the bar. Only open a few hours a day and the service was tart.

Beautiful hotel at a great location in Germany. Loved the hotel, services, and staff. Though I came for an office trip, the staff ensured it was home away from home. Thanks so much Vamshi (staff from the Restaurant) for your wonderful service and tips that helped us a lot in our three weeks stay in Germany.

This review is strictly based off of their Sunday Brunch service they offer once a month. I’ve attended it a handful of times now and for the most part have been very pleased with the service and food. HOWEVER, every time I have been there, I have noticed on multiple occasions, the piano player come out of a bathroom stall, and just exit the bathroom without washing his hands and then hitting up the buffet… I gotta say it really turns you off from wanting to get anymore food when someone who is being employed by the hotel is just so negligent on hygiene. Dude is gross…

The Hotel and the rooms are quite spacious, but it really needs an update ex fresh paint, carpet, bathroom, closet in the room (doors didn’t work). I think it’s expensive for what you get and not up to normal Marriott standard. Nice parcial view of the Nekkar river. No balcony in our room.

What a disaster. The hotel is old and smells. The hotel needs a complete renovation and the worst is incapable staff. They were not able to change a simple address on an invoice, even their accounting couldn't do it... Look at the Qube Hotel or the NH if you want an up to date place to stay.

My room was found to be unacceptable. I have severe allergies and was placed perfectly above the area where people congregate to smoke. Further the room was on a busy highway with tremendous street noise. I requested a room change to ameliorate the issue and was told I could not be accommodated. The person wouldn’t even check the computer, just an immediate “no”. Very disappointing as a Marriott rewards member to have the staff not at least attempting to assist.

Great location along the river. Its just a 5-10 min walk to the mainstation but a bit off towards the old city center. Yet it's a Marriott and you know what you get. A fully equipped gymn a pool and a lounge with great views 👌

We were taken care of by Anastasia in the executive lounge. She was helpful, courteous and went above and beyond to make our visit enjoyable. She truly made our evening. We would come back just to see her again 😁

We were welcomed by Anton and Giorgos who helped us with our reservation and managed to find a solution for the kids. Hotel is well situated, nice river view. Great restaurant. We will come back.

The staff were absolutely amazing here. Extremely helpful with suggestions and directions to the altstadt old town. For a few euros, I suggest taking the boat down the river as you will do a lot of walking around. The hotel itself is alittle dated, thus only 4 stars. But don't worry, it is clean and comfortable. Breakfast is amazing and parking is secure and right under the building, which makes it very convenient. Highly recommend

My home away from home for the past 21 years. Always great service and staff. Could use a facelift but never disappoints. The staff at the Pinte is always happy to see me and always treats me well.

Best place to stay in Heidelberg. Very nice location, clean rooms, very friendly staff and a great lounge.

Average hotel with good service and over priced breakfast. Would have been improved if the lounge had been open.

A very dated hotel. Would rate it lower for that reason if it wasn't for the friendliness, professionalily and helpfulness of it's employees!

The interior maybe a little dated but everything works just fine. Nice view if you get a room to the river side. Despite the current "situation" there was a good breakfast buffet including warm food options. What's best about the Heidelberg Marriott is the staff. They do an outstanding job making your stay enjoyable, always friendly and professional at the same time.

Great staff, breakfast was awesome. Good amenities for business travelers and a decent spot along the river (but a bit far from the city center). The problem with this hotel is the rooms appear to have not been touched since 1989. Badly needs a renovation.

Highly recommend! From the moment you walk in they welcome you. Staff was very friendly and looked for ways to make our stay wonderful. Rooms were very nice, great breakfast, and wonderful view over the river. If you like to walk great location. Can’t wait to go back.

Great service/people. The bar was mostly closed, but some cool places to eat and drink within a 7 min. walk. Nice breakfast. Decent restaurant. Nice gym/sauna. Rooms are smallish and a tad dated. Some have a balcony, but then you lose seating and luggage space. Underground self-parking costs 25€/. Free EV/Tesla slow charging. Good location about 1.6km (10€ taxi) to old-town. None of the English-language TV channels worked. Good value hotel. I would stay here again.

Reasonably nice Marriott in Heidelberg. The room was clean and it was primarily what you expect from Marriott, but I’m not sure I’d stay there again. The beds were super uncomfortable and I nearly died from the slipperyness of the bath tub, it was next level slippery. It is pretty far from the downtown and castle are, but pretty convenient to the train station. The hotel is pretty dated and I’m guessing they are trying to mask the old musty smell of the hotel with really strong incense and air freshener smell in the lobby. I’m telling you, it’s a pretty intense smell that I could not take for very long. I probably would have given it three stars if it wasn’t for the amazingly helpful folks at the front desk. They were great!

Hotel is excellent in offering comfort to their guests. front desk staff is quite responsive. The lounge lounge manager and incharge lady Venessa is extremely diligent and offers the best possible hospitality! Very punctual and considerate ! Same is the case for breakfast time . The two ladies ( don’t know their names, sorry) always ensures that everything is fine with the hotel guests. Extremely delighted by Team Heidelberg Marriott!

Friendly staff and comfortable beds, with a good selection of breakfast options. The staff even let me play their foyer piano.

Hotel staff were great and welcoming at all times. The lady in the lounge on 3 from around 2:30 until 10:30 at night was outstanding! She is the best! Remembers her clients each day and what they like. Went the extra mile to make me a hot chocolate when I was there! The lounge food, however, is not worth the extra money - spent like $30-40 extra per day for nothing. Snacks were the same every day - chips, pretzels, fruit, and some kind of small dessert which looked like many repeats. No nice chocolate chip cookies or variety. No still water in bottles which there should have been. Need to work on this area! Breakfast on the main floor was boring - same stuff every day. Waffles/pancakes were hard - no made to order omelets like most. I only gave the above rating because of the staff. Would also again not pay the extra for the river views as that did not really happen. Seen very little water. The Neckar river is right behind the hotel and you can board the boat to get to Old Town for a small cost. This hotel is about a 30 minute walk to Old Town. Be sure to ask a taxi if they take credit card or cash so there are no surprises.

Rooms clean, good restaurant at the ground level. underground parking is not free. Hotel is bit far from the old town, taxis are available. Hotel has rooms with balcony, dor the photographers, you can grab a good shot at 200 mm or above.

  • 4/5 Sua S. 1 year ago on Google
Great hotel with a nice bar and restaurant. If you want to eat dinner and have a window front view of the Neckar make a reservation. They also have a water taxi service behind the hotel. Perfect for the pub crawl!

  • 4/5 Graham H. 1 year ago on Google
Very good hotel and great location by the river and close to the railway station. Rooms were very good and quiet. Didn't use the gym or the pool. Really enjoyed the beakfast and the evening dinner. Only issue was the walking distance into the old city. Tram or taxi is needed as the walk was around 30 minutes.

Love the location of this Hotel and plenty of garage parking. The front desk staff is always helpful and very friendly. Highly recommend if staying in the area.
