Spent the weekend camping and hiking. Beautiful hiking trails for all skill levels. Camping and tent areas are small and quant. Roads can definitely use some work though. Had a great time and one more park stamp in our book.

Local treasure! Well maintained and clean. My family visited for the first time yesterday. The lake, creeks and babbling streams were absolutely beautiful. Great picnic areas and plenty of options for family fun with cabin rentals, playground, paddle boats, canoes, etc. Plenty of space for frisbee or other backyard sporting options. Our dog loved it. Parking lot is right beside the picnic area so it's very convenient to get supplies.

We made a quick pit stop after picking up my daughter from her camp. Poinsett state park has lake where kids and dogs can swim/ play with water. They also has cam ground site and cabin to rent for your stay. Quite nature place and not really busy even on the week end. Has playground and clean bathroom for the visitors. Although our visit was short but we enjoyed it.

Quite out of the way park, good campsites with good space between sites. Good clean bath house. Small lake with paddle and Jon boats. Be sure to bring everything you need, camp store is nice but small and they don't carry ice.lots of hiking & biking trails.

Nice, quite campground with water and electric only. The bathhouse was directly behind us. They are very clean but need some maintenance. Rusty the host was very friendly. Andrew the Ranger was very friendly too. The lake and office is about a half mile from the campground. Site 7, 2 bars Verizon, 20A & 30A only, Water, no sewer. Does have a dumping station. Fairly level site. Had to lift one side about 1.5" and the front about 3". Dirt/sandy site.

Such a beautiful place for a peaceful, relaxing Mother's Day! We love exploring our state parks and this was our first time to this one. They have plenty of picnic tables and adirondack chairs by the lake, as well as several picnic shelters throughout the park. One of the picnic shelters was near where we settled by the lake for the afternoon, close to a nice, large grassy area for playing and playground equipment for younger children. We didn't hike any of the trails on this visit but they have several ranging from 0.4 mile up to over 5 miles long. My daughter and I enjoyed some canoeing - got pretty close to an egret, just missed a turtle, and thankfully did not encounter any gators. Although, we were told by the ranger that they are more scared of us than we are of them.

We loved our RV camping experience at Poinsett!! They have awesome walking/biking trails with beautiful streams. Lots of hills for people in search of more challenging trails. The staff are all very friendly and the campgrounds are well maintained. Perfect family fun!!! We can’t wait to go back again for a longer stay!

This is one of my favorite State Parks. The quiet and low-key atmosphere is refreshing. Trails for all skill levels are extensive throughout this compact park. Tent camping sites are spacious with a clean bathhouse.

Private wooded spaces with full RV hookups. A ton of trails to take. Each RV space has a picnic table and fire ring. We absolutely loved this place!

Clean and beautiful park with various walking and biking trails, a lake you can fish in or rent a paddle or Jon boat for $10 an hour or bring your own kayak. Well taken care of trails and grounds - making it an enjoyable sanctuary for a picnic or just to take your children to the playground. You do have to put cash in an envelope for entry- $3/adult and $1/child or $1.50 for seniors, SC guard or disabled vets.

My favorite mountain biking park short of going up to the mountains. Wide variety of trails both technical and flow. You can get 20-30 miles of biking in with minimal doubling up -- especially when combined with adjacent Manchester State Forest.

Camped here for a couple days in early April and it was really enjoyable. Great for kids because there are short easy hikes and a nice playground.

Nice place, love the trails. I've been trail running here a couple times and really enjoyed it. Trails are marked fairly well, very thick trees so the temp is lower and even rain doesn't get all the way through. There are some hills to keep it interesting, but nothing too major. Really nice.

Had an AMAZING time this weekend camping. We chose sites 34 and 32. Amazing space. Canoeing was awesome! Everyone in the park was so helpful and the trails are amazing, some of the less traveled ones could use a refresh but are GORGEOUS. Will 100% be back

A beautiful park with multiple trails to hike. The Coquina Trail is the one I took and it did not disappoint, 1.5 miles and worth the hike to experience it.

Nice park, great mountain bike trails but infrastructure is seriously lacking. Narrow roads and dirt paths make navigation with a trailer difficult.

Serene, peaceful place. Camping, kayak rental, kids playground areas, mini museum at welcome center, nice Adirondack chairs along the water. Nice walking areas.

Very nice park. Mostly hiking, fishing. Small campground. Several cottages. Very short visit to check it out

Beautiful spot to visit. Nice paved trails and beautiful views. Ponds with a nice bridge crossing. You don’t get cellular service out there so be warned. It’s a no fishing zone. Wasn’t very crowded and not much garbage laying around. It’s feels like a safe environment for the whole family. They have things for adults and children. Large play ground and thing of that sort. Picnic tables with tree cover to keep the sun from burning you up. Restrooms are not the best. They do have a water fountain for drinking water. I also like that animals are allowed on the trails.

This was our 2nd visit to Poinsett State Park on our return trip home from Florida. So glad we stopped again! Great mountain bike and hiking trails. Camp sites were level and clean. We were in site #29 this time with electric and water on gravel.

Secluded, Truly-Detached, Hiker. This state park has hookups, sites for those wanting to get back in touch with nature and cleanup in-between. Online booking information was right on point when selecting a suitable site with full disclosures up front on what to expect. The facilities were clean and maintained and we were greater warmly each day by the Camp Host(ess), the park members ensures we were safe and had our necessities before moving on to ready for new visitors. We were treated with aireal maneuvers and training expertise by the neighboring Shaw Air Force Base during the day but enjoy nature's serenity at night. Walking and exploring trails were well kept, color coded, and clearly marked with signs. Roads can be tight in some places for those with larger vehicles. Expect bumps and use caution as many two-lane roads are only as large as single lane would be. Great staff is present to of needed, emergency numbers are posted at office and information online was accurate to layout and his of operation. Be sure to bring your State Park Passport to visit this hidden gem in the heart of South Carolina.

My husband and I stayed this past weekend and we had a blast! We were tent camping and the campsites are nice and shaded. They have water at each site the bathrooms were nice and were cleaned everyday. The trails were beautiful and there’s plenty of firewood to gather. The only thing I didn’t really like is that the campsites are pretty close together. All in all 10/10 could recommend.
