Lotus Salon - Sun Prairie I had been looking for a hair salon in the Sun Prairie for quite a while now. There are so many places to choose from it can be hard to decide where to go. Everyone has their specific hair needs and preferences, so reading reviews can be tricky. I’ve been to the Sun Prairie Lotus Salon a couple of times and highly recommend it! Another awesome thing about Lotus salon is how upfront they are with prices for services. A lot of salons I saw while shopping around didn’t post prices or anything online which can be super frustrating. On the services page of the Lotus website they give a range of cost for each service. This is because Lotus uses a level system with their stylists. So when you’re reading through their staff page it’ll say where each stylist is at in their level of training. Someone who has more experience charges more than say an apprentice, so a haircut could range from x to z depending if you choose an apprentice or a seasoned stylist. So if you’re looking to stay under a certain budget, it can be super helpful to look through the stylist list first and choose carefully. It also helps when booking an appointment you can see what a particular stylist charges for a service at the time of booking. My second time going back to Lotus for another yearly color and cut, I tried a new stylist named Jordyn and she was amazing! She did a great job walking through what I wanted and gave me lots of options for colors that would compliment my skin tone. I am more than happy to defer to expert opinions since they have far more experience in the matter and I’m a novice at having my hair colored professionally. I was cutting off a decent amount of hair and she did a great job checking in with me during the process to make sure it wasn’t too much, and that I was happy with the length. Getting your hair colored can be a long process between putting the foils in, sitting with the color on, washing, cutting and drying. Time flew by with Jordyn as my stylist, she made it a very fun visit. She checked in every step of the cut to make sure if she needed to go shorter or how I was feeling. She did an amazing job helping me pick out the perfect color. She also asked super helpful questions about how I wear my hair so that it would be cut so I could style it easily. We also talked about how since I have a pretty busy schedule, the color we picked would fade nicely so I could stretch more time between hair appointments. I feel like sometimes stylists can make you feel guilty if you can’t come for a salon visit every 8–10 weeks, but thankfully that wasn’t the case here. I would absolutely book with Jordyn again! Overall I would highly recommend a visit to the Sun Prairie Lotus Salon. The staff there is super friendly and helpful. They’re very up front with their pricing practices and not at all pushy to buy the products they sell. The salon atmosphere is relaxing and inviting. Been coming here for about a year now and Gracie never disappoints. My hair used to be damaged and broken and now it's the healthiest its ever been. Gracie is extremely accommodating to my constant change of wants for my hair. I will not go anywhere else. All the ladies I've interacted with here have been extremely pleasant and kind. 🥰

I have had several good cuts here with Campbell and I recently brought my daughter in for her first cut with Campbell. Campbell did a great job even with my kiddo moving around a little, she continually checked in with me and my daughter at every step, and she listened to my daughter when she asked for a shorter cut despite her only being 3yo. Highly recommended.

I have been going to Mandy at the Sun Prairie location for years, and she continues to go absolutely ABOVE AND BEYOND each and every time! Tonight I had an appointment for a haircut and mentioned that I have been needing a change and was going to book a color at our next appointment….Mandy said we could make it happen tonight and squeezed in a color for me. We decided on a color and she even suggested something that I would love even more! She is the perfect example of an Owner / Hairstylist who genuinely cares for her clients and always makes them feel their very best. Mandy goes above and beyond in so many ways and I highly recommend her to everyone!!

I used to really enjoy this salon until I had a terrible experience with a stylist named Gracie Faust. I went in for highlights and she did a good job until we got to the end of the service when another customer complimented my hair and she said “ You should’ve seen the before”. Not only was this back handed and rude but also why would you say that in front of your customers. For this reason I will never be going back because professionals shouldn’t act that way. I was talking to family about the encounter and they said that I should write a review to warn people about the experience but the reason I didn’t right away was because i’m not the one to usually do that.

I’ve been coming here for cut and color services for the past 5 years and it’s always a great experience. All the staff are wonderful - talented, friendly and knowledgeable - and I’ve never been disappointed with my hair. Location is quiet and convenient and prices are reasonable too. I highly recommend Lotus Salon!

I’ve been going to Mandy longer than I can remember. Donna and Miles are always so sweet. I enjoy the atmosphere and know my hair and nails always look great. Highly recommended!
