We were staying at Addo Elephant National Park and took a drive through to Zuurberg Inn for brunch. We did not stay here. The restaurant is tucked away with beautiful mountain views and the gardens are delightful. They were load shedding when we got there and unfortunately our chips were oily. I enjoyed my burger but the calamari was not the best. The winner is the scones with jam and cream. Service was excellent. FYI - beware of the naughty monkeys who are eager to share your food. We walked around the village to see the grave of Martha Robertson and the grounds where the chapel burnt down. The cottages looked lovely and it would be lovely to stay over and enjoy the mountains.

Great place, excellent food, first class service. Well worth a visit. Interesting (unpaved) road to reach it.

Room: big enough with a great view but had multiple issues. #1: There was no wifi. #2: There was no phone in the room. So if you need something or need to talk to the office, you have to basically walk to the office. What would you do in case of emergency or if it's pouring out there??? #3: Faucets didn't work well, Sprayed water everywhere except where it's needed. #4: There were birds in the room even though we were out the whole day long & the door was never left open. #5: There was clear cold water & yellow hot water with sand in it. Staff: no star for the Manager/ Receptionist who was not a pleasant person & was bit rude to me at least. 1 of my group member was there about fridge not working, she responded & while getting up from the chair mumbled something to the massage therapist sitting next to her. She was not happy on being questioned & was not polite in answering the concerns. When being questioned about the yellow hot water, she didn't even bother to look at me & kept working at the computer & didn't give any satisfactory/ logical response on why the cold water was clear but the hot water was yellow. She again mumbled something when i turned back to go back to my room. 3 stars for the rest of the staff ONLY. They were very polite & responds to the requests within fraction of the time. Food was great. Soups 5 *s Location: Great.

Unfortunately, the front desk and management are too busy discussing manicures than acknowledging guests. However, the gentleman serving the bar and dining room went out of his way to provide good service.

Somewhat enchanting lodge in Addo, dating back to the 19th century. I stopped in for a coffee and a snack. The owners dog ate my chips, which I found amusing, but I would have appreciated at least a hint of an apology from the owner, but he simply walked off in the direction despite witnessing everything. The staff were very helpful though.

We had an awesome morning game drive with Langton. He picked us up from Africamps and he was a field of knowledge. He made sure our safety was top priority and that our bellies were full. Be sure to provide access details to your game driver if you’re staying outside of the national park. Highly recommended!

Enjoyed a second visit to Zuuberg which is right next to the Addo Park. Did not stay but went for a mid week lunch at the restaurant which was lovely and quiet. I had an amazing burger and my friend had the Hake, both dishes served with home made Chips (Fries). We rounded off the meal with freshly brewed coffee on the terrace accompanied by Toby the Blonde Lab! Friends tell me that Zuuberg does an amazing Sunday lunch too!
