The food was good, but I reminded the waitress four times that I had ordered a beer, it eventually arrived with just enough time to wash my last mouthful of lunch down. Salt and pepper never made it to the table. I requested the table to be wiped as it was full of crumbs and was sticky, I eventually gave up and made a table cloth with serviettes. I suspect that with a little manager oversight and staff training, it could be much better. One is left with an impression that this is the only restaurant in the park, and if you want to eat, you'll just have to put up with the service

Excellent dinner two nights in a row in the middle of winter. The first night, the weather was nice, so we sat on the covered porch to enjoy our Fettuccine Alfredo, good draft beer, and wine, followed by particularly good Malva Pudding. The second night we ran in from the rain, wet and cold. The fire helped us warm up while we shared some delicious Pinotage. We ordered veg burgers with French fries and more of the terrific Malva Pudding. Service was excellent both nights, and we were more than happy with our experience here.

Awesome chilli poppers, packed with cream cheese and is a portion of 4. My friends had the steak and loved it

Bought the two most expensive steaks on the menu. Both clearly defrosted, bland and below par. Had to send back undercooked as looked still frozen in the centre. Possibly worst steaks ever. Would rather braai at the accomodation next time. Service slow and unfriendly too.

The cattle baron is really great as we could sit outside and see elephants walking on the hills. Food was like any other cattle barons. Food came fast and the staff was super helpful. It was not very busy as we came early for dinner. For those foreigners wanting to eat later in the evening take care as the restaurant closes at 9pm. Recommend you do the game drives till around 6pm and then start the dinner to avoid long wait or missing dinner completely. There is not much other options for eating out in the area.

5 out of 6 meals came out wrong ?! Then it took forever to bring out replacements. Wouldn’t recommend so bring your own dinner to Addo Elephant NP. Pictured is a bowl of just pasta because they didn’t understand mushrooms on side and instead gave us everything on the side that had the mushrooms mixed with everything :(

Excellent food and very welcome after a morning of game driving around the Addo Elephant Park. Great steaks, burgers and kiddies meals, but the service was a bit lacking. Would’ve liked to order some more drinks midway through the meal, but no one bothered to check on us. Guess they’re making enough money without additional items being ordered? Like all Cattle Barons, it is a bit dark and grimey. I do wish the franchise would update their decor and style a bit; they continue to be stuck in the early 2000s, and are in desperate need of an update. That said, food was good and well priced. Couldn’t have asked for more in the middle of our visit to Addo. Will happily come back.

Daylight robbery that an average at best glass of wine costs R106 per glass. This is robbery at its best and I do not believe that robbing tourist is the way to make a living. Worst still is they do not offer you a drinks menu so you cannot see the price of your drinks. Absolutely shocking. Then to top it off they do not offer any milk alternatives ether, so if your lactose intolerant you can’t even have a cup of coffee.
