I came to eat with my wife. We ordered rasam soup, kadai paneer punjabi and mushroom biryani. Also a cup of masala chai. First served was kadai paneer punjabi and the rice and dish was cold. Taste was fine but we felt that the portion was small. Then came very late the rasam soup, it was unfortunately ice cold and was very small in portion for 55kr, we didn’t even eat it anymore and took it for take away. Then came even later the mushroom biryani, the rice was sticky, I was not expecting Biryani to have sticky rice. We didn’t ask to reheat the soup anymore because there was already another table complaining about the food taking so long and everything is cold or not cooked properly, they don’t have enough staff maybe. They only have one cook doing the dhosas, that is one reason it was taking so long for another table. They should increase number of staff so things could get better, and they should make sure food is served hot/warm.

I was so excited to eat here. However after waiting for an hour, for the kadai paneer and dosa, the excitement was gone. I thought maybe at least the food was going to be great but that wasn’t the case. The food had minimal spice and it was served barely warm. I suggest to take your money elsewhere.

During my visit to Stockholm, I satisfied my craving for Indian food by dining at Saravana Bhavan, which offered a taste of home-cooked meals away from home. While the food was delicious, I felt the portion sizes were a bit small for the price. The spiciness of the dishes might have been more intense than expected, possibly due to variations in preparation. Despite these minor concerns, the overall experience was positive, with attentive service and a pleasant dining atmosphere. However, the restaurant's location was a bit distant from the central station, requiring some extra travel time.

Tried their lunch deal for north indian thali, was not something i will order again. Gobi 65 was very delicious. I am a big fan of Saravna Bhavan and been to many in other parts of the world, this was my first trip to a Swedish version. I saw the dosa served on another table and realised that i should have tried south indian choice at a south indian restaurant. I will definitely go back and try other options like dosa, idli etc, which i crave here in sweden. Sitting area was neat and clean, staff was helpful and location is walkable from St Eriksplan station. I will update my review once i will try other options.

Ordered Gobi 65, Veg Samosa, Channa Batura and Masala Dosa. They were just delicious. I have missed eating South Indian style cauliflower, so when I had Gobi 65, the seasoning on the batter really reminds me of the same taste I have always known. Vegetable Samosa were okay. Both Channa Batura and Masala Dosa were the highlights. It was my husband's first time eating authentic South Indian food. I was concerned if he would like it, but the Channa Batura was so delicious that he finished everything on his plate. The chickpeas were so so flavourful. As for my Masala Dosa, it was delicious, flavourful and satisfying.

Decent South Indian spread Had the idli vada which was nice. Fluffy idlis and crispy vada. The rava masala dosa was ok. It lacked the kick of a usual dosa, had whole peppercorns which i didn't understand why. The sambar was nice Chatnis were just okay. I understand the low spice is made to accomodate the European palatte, but they can go harder on the spices. Filter coffee is nice The ambiance is nice. Good subltle Indian music Decent prices. They also have a bar. The con: they have a creepy staircase which is an accident hazard. The served slammed into me with his full tray hitting my head as I came up the stairs. Please be careful going up and down them.

We experience visit at Sarvana Bhawan to taste the food. The lady taking order was very kind and very well spoken. We ordered Mysore dosa and Chole bhature .....the dosa was good however the chole bhature was very bad , not at all the real presentation of how a chole bhature is meant to be ... do not try Chole bhature however you can order dosa - they are good at it. They also have a bar in the basement and nice seating space.the plates need an upgrade too.

As a lunch offer, l think was not a bad option for 115 SEK l had lots of food made me feel full and loved the taste of the dishes. l ordered Combo 2, and friends had Combo 3. On my plate, my favorites were lentil soup, potato dish and the dessert, helva - very Turkish - semolina cooked with safran and walnut. l couldn’t try the coffee but next time l will not miss it. Don’t forget to take sugar fennels before you leave the restsurant which is refreshment and loved loved it more than the food 😂 I have to say it is small place and due to fried food and spices, it does smell and service was a bit slow for lunch time, which l suppose should be a bit quick. but l recommend thw place to have different cuisine experience 😃

I love dosa and keep visiting this branch anywhere i travel, but this time was such a disappointment! Taste was very average, but what really threw me off was the quantity! I was shocked! As chutney even didn't cover the bottom of the tray, the dosa was very small, and potato filling was literally two spoons. I always buy this type of dosa so i can compare. I would usually have difficulty finishing off whole dosa while this time i ate it within no time and didn't even feel full. And there was such a strong smell of the toilet the moment i entered. Definitely won't be coming back to the Stockholm branch for a while. That quantity and taste are not worth the price.

I've been here many times eating different dosa or combo on each visit. All these dosa's were delicious and the staff is very friendly asking me if I need extra chutney or sambar. I will definitely recommend this place for vegetarian south Indian food, especially for dosas. Here's some ghee onion rava masala dosa😁

This is a big chain serving vegetarian South Indian food which replicates the one from India. The ambience is quite dull and not very clean. As soon as I took a seat, I saw a cockroach crawl across which isn't really the sight you'd like to be welcomed with. Ordered the Sambar Vada which was tasty but only the sambar was warm. I later had the Mysore Masala Dose and it seemed like the waiter left the order waiting in kitchen for quite some time and eventually was brought to the table by the chef himself. The dosa had gone cold and soft but the potato stuffing (palya) was piping hot which was the only positive. Would recommend if you want to try to some South Indian food but definitely not going back.

On one crazy evening around 6pm, I ordered masala dosa, Channa bhatura, and samosa- highly disappointed with Samosa dish(ordered to change and here I got again in picture), masala dosa was not crispy and hot(sambar was not fresh), and the overall presentation of food was unbelievable and I have never experienced in past 4 years in any Indian restaurant in Stockholm. After my feedback, I was not charged for samosa dish but it ruined my whole evening and my enthusiasm to choose this place is now over.

Sumptuous south Indian vegetarian meal here. We opted for the special thali and the Saravanaa Experience combined menu. Both great choices and gave an excellent representation of the dishes served here. The ghee roast, Mysore masala dosa's are excellent, perfect with the sambar and chutneys. Also the paneer butter masala curry and the Malai kofta are worth sampling. And have a lime juice or Madras masala chai or coffee to wash it all down.

One of the best South Indian restaurant in Stockholm. The food here is authentic. I ordered the combo which came with a dosa, vada, idly and puri. Recommended that you get the combo, then you can enjoy a lot of things together. The south Indian style filter coffee is also very good. Will definitely go here again.

The dosa is to die for! I absolutely recommend anyone to order any of the dosas from the menu as I have not had anything this delicious in a long time. We also ordered the vegetable curry and aloo gobi which were both a bit too salty and basically two very similar dishes. The portions are generous, so recommend having no more than two plates per two people. The staff is lovely and service is very quick.

If you are missing the authentic Indian breakfast, then this is the right place to be. The food is good with good service. You will find all kinds of south Indian breakfast dishes. The spice level is moderated.

One of the most delicious and price worthy restaurants of Saravanaa Bhavan. I’m from Berlin and I’ve tried out quite a few restaurants of this chain (Berlin, Munich, Brussels). The food was good here and the customer service was excellent. Highly recommend. They also provide you refills if you ask.

Today wasn’t a good experience and I’ve always loved this restaurant. I had sambar missing, the rice portion and curry portion were very small, like child’s sized. I think that’s the end of me going here. For 330kr this is a rip off

Went for lunch with some work colleges who recommended the place. It was a unique experience, the food was pretty good. I did order a naan and when food came wasn't given one, mentioned it to staff who said it would come, 10 minutes later it did not. One final shot, asked again and after 30 minutes there was nothing. Thankfully didn't argue with me when I asked for it to be taken off the bill.

It was good experience. Had vegetable khorma n chapati, Mysore sada dosa n onion uttapam. Sambar was cold, wish it was hot. Else the service was quick. Atmosphere is normal and good. This place is near to Friemdsplan railway station, almost 600m. Dosa n Onion Uttapam is authentic that you will get here.

Excellent South Indian food! The menu has lots of variety, we especially liked their meal combo options and great filter coffee too ☺️. The ambience was cozy and the soothing Indian music in the background is comforting. The staff is friendly and polite.

After one year of living Stockholm, last weekend wanted to South Indian breakfast. Another disappointment. Even though it is freshly cooked food, was not tasty. For someone who never tried South Indian food, might taste great. Tried both coffee and tea coffee is bit better but was cold. Note to reviewers: give honest rating so that visitors can reduce their expectations.

The food tasted authentic South Indian, the service was quick and the price was reasonable. If you are in Stockholm and wanted real South Indian Food, go to Saravanaa Bhavan.

Saravana experience combo is recommended to taste Idly, Masala dosa and Poori on a single plate. Taste is good but not 100% matching to Tamilnadu standards. Walkable from Eriksplan metro to enjoy South Indian cuisine.

Nice place in Stockholm for Indian vegetarian foods. Specially south Indian dosa that I eat was awesome 👌. Delicious Sambhar, Coconut 🥥 Chutney and Dosa is worth eating. Ambience in the down stairs was nice with pleasant fragrance of heritage "Indian Agarbati". It will give you a nice spiritual and pure feeling to eat the food you order. Staffs are kind, gentle and more friendly. Give it a try! I hope you will love it. Thanks for reading 📚😀

Good South Indian restaurant. Nice ambience. The food is really good especially the combos. As there are lesser South Indian restaurants finding Saravana Bhavan feels great. Must visit to try Dosas😍 Idli vada was also good

Had a fabulous experience and amazingly delicious combo menu today along with all my frens... Great job Sarwana Bhawan, thanks for the delicious south indian experience. The sambar, rasam, chutney, halwa, dosas, everything was lip-smacking delicious. The masala chai was the cherry on the top. Thank you, we enjoyed a lot!

Totally recommend! The food is amazing and the service couldn’t be any sweeter! I am vegetarian and was amazed by the choices I had and my boyfriend is a chef (very picky with restaurants) and we loved it! Also very affordable compared to regular restaurant prices in Stockholm.
