First time at the Royalty last night, to see The 39 Steps, what a fantastic performance, very very funny, the cast took multiple parts and were amazing. Definitely not my last visit to this lovely little theatre. Xx

Great little venue. Passionate staff, and sweets, drinks and merchandise very reasonably priced. Comfortable and easy to get to. Just back from the panto. Usually a proper cash-grab in other places, but a nice affordable evening out.

Saw an amazingly directed production of God of Carnage in the Studio. Volunteer run theatre puts on amazing shows throughout the year. Always worth a visit!

This is a lovely venue. Everyone was friendly and helpful. I'm used to watching events on the main stage but this production was in the smaller room, seating about 50. Pleased to say it was full. Lucky to have this theatre for audiences to enjoy and for nurturing local talent 🎭

Lovely undiscovered gem of a theatre in Sunderland. Shows are always of a professional standard and always a warm reception from the patrons there. Worth a visit

The Royalty Theatre is a long-established Sunderland institution and, unfortunately, it has been way too long between my visits. This venue is renowned for hosting amateur dramatics but I stopped by for the launch of a book. Locally based Frances Mackintosh's debut novel 'Coming For You' was launched at the Royalty.

Was our first visit to this quaint little theatre. A great night and will definitely return. Good value for money and Shirley Valentine was better than we thought possible with one actress. Great acting. Thankyou.

First ever visit for the panto. Great little theatre and great as how! 4 and 6 year old thoroughly enjoyed it! My only complaint was that I was freezing cold, in row C, seats 4,5 and 6. The rest of the theatre seemed to be warm, but I had to keep my coat on throughout!

Really enjoyed it. πŸ˜€. The cast do a great job. Lovely little theatre. Ice cream or glass wine in the interval what's not to like. Please support local productions.

Very interesting experience for a young person to go to a play here. The place emanates history, from the seats, to the lounge and the bar. I enjoyed that at the play I viewed, "California Suite", there was music playing in the intervals.
