The building near to water source is very well maintained. After entering in the main gate of building we can see good garden having lots of roses. The other building which was separate living place of rani padmini is in water. This whole area of padmini palace shows us the biggest and unique history in the world.

The Maharani Padmini Palace is located in the south of chittorgarh fort. It's a beautiful 3 storied palace. It is one of the most visited place of the fort. It is situated in lotus pond for which a staircase leads to here. But you can only see the palace from outside from a viewing platform.

Legend says this particular Mahal was for Rani Padmini, who was the queen of Ratan Singh and she was so beautiful that Khilji ... Fall in Love and definitely she refused, then war and 'jauhar' happened. A curse of Chittorgarh fort. Here is a Jal-mahal to go there from main portion of the building a boat is required. In this Mahal when Khilji wanted to her using a reflection of mirror she made it. Her Palace is surrounded by her Sahelis (maid) room, though the condition of those are not in good. Immediate repair need to do for the whole fort otherwise within few years these historical structures will collapsed.

Padmini Maharani Palace is the southern most attraction of Chittorgarh Fort, close to Kalkamata temple and Gora Badal Mansion. The Room still exists were Alaudin Khalji shallowly glimpsed Maharani Padmini. The Palace is well maintained and the ruins were maintained and built to its original form. Padmini palace is beautiful..there are two palace for Rani padmini one is for Summers and one is for winter.the palace for summer is in between the lake..there is no accessbility to go in that palace which is in between the lake but yes you can have the view of it.

Padmini Palace, nestled within the formidable Chittorgarh Fort in Rajasthan, not only showcases architectural brilliance but is also steeped in the legendary tale of Queen Padmini. The palace serves as a poignant reminder of the valor and sacrifice associated with the historical events surrounding Rani Padmini. **Architecture:** The palace is an architectural gem, reflecting the quintessential Rajput style with delicate arches, ornate carvings, and intricate designs. Its strategic location within Chittorgarh Fort offers panoramic views of the surrounding landscape, adding to the grandeur of the palace. **Mirror Chambers:** What makes Padmini Palace particularly captivating is its mirror chambers. These chambers are said to have been adorned with mirrors that created a mesmerizing play of reflections. According to folklore, it was in these chambers that Alauddin Khilji, the Sultan of Delhi, caught a glimpse of Queen Padmini's reflection. This fateful sighting is believed to have ignited the conflict that eventually led to the siege of Chittorgarh. **The Tale of Queen Padmini:** Rani Padmini, the legendary queen of Chittorgarh, was known for her beauty and grace. The narrative goes that Alauddin Khilji, having heard tales of her unparalleled beauty, sought to possess her. However, Queen Padmini and the Rajput warriors, led by Rana Ratan Singh, valiantly defended their honor. The conflict culminated in the siege of Chittorgarh, where the Rajput forces displayed unparalleled courage. In the face of impending defeat, Rani Padmini, along with the other women of the fort, committed Jauhar—an act of self-immolation to preserve their honor. This tragic event resonates in Rajput history as a symbol of unwavering courage and sacrifice. **Symbol of Valor:** Padmini Palace, in essence, stands as a symbol of Rajput valor and resilience. It preserves the memory of the historical events that unfolded within its walls and pays homage to the indomitable spirit of Queen Padmini and the Rajput warriors who defended their honor against overwhelming odds. A visit to Padmini Palace not only allows one to appreciate its architectural beauty but also provides a connection to the poignant history and legends that echo within its chambers, making it a must-visit destination for those interested in the cultural and historical tapestry of Rajasthan.

Witnessing the beauty of one of the best historical places was marvellous. Though this palace is in its ruin condition but seeing the jalmahal, the place where khalji and Queen Padmini stood during their face meeting was something different.

This three storied white building was built in the 19th century, and is located in the southern part of the fort. Located amidst water bodies, this is the place where Aladdin was permitted to see the mirror image of Rani Padmini, wife of Maharana Rattan Singh. It is widely believeds that Aladdin was besotted by the beauty of Padmini and the desire to win her led convinced him to destroy Chittor. In the battle that ensued, Maharana Rattan Singh was killed and Rani Padmini committed Jauhar. Rani Padmini's beauty is compared to that of Cleopatra and her life story is an eternal legend in the history of Chittor.

It is well maintained but if they repaint it as it was earlier it would look more likely and it might attract more tourism. The previous paint is still visible. The garden is well maintained.

The enchanting Maharani Padmini Palace at Chittorgarh captivated me during my winter visit. The historical charm blended seamlessly with the crisp winter air, offering a serene and picturesque experience. The intricate architecture and detailed craftsmanship transported me to a bygone era, while the well-maintained surroundings added to the overall allure. Exploring the palace grounds in the cool weather enhanced the visit, creating lasting memories of a regal and memorable winter escape.

Don't miss this place when you visit chittorgarh.. it's at the corner of the entire fort. Yet its beautiful with a well maintained garden in front and inside and also you can clearly go n see the place where khilji saw Padmini with the help of a mirror. The padmini palace was indeed in the pond. It's near the chittorgarh fort and it's well connected. A must visit place..

The palace looks so worn down now. It must have been ethereal to look in it's good times. Though we were allowed just a peek at it from a marble-grilled window across the palace (Padmini Palace is locally called the "Jal Mahal" as it is surrounded on all sides by a water body), it is simply wonderful to look at it and go into that era when things were pretty simple and yet so elegant.

it is a three storied palace that overlooks a lotus pool The fort itself stands atop a 180 metre tall hill. Spread over about 700 acres, the Chittorgarh fort is believed to have been originally constructed in the 7th century. It is one of the earliest palaces constructed in to be completely surrounded by water. The queen’s ill-fated but legendary beauty is reflected in the lotus pool that surrounds her small but stunning palace. The architectural style is distinctly Rajasthani, but hints of the Persian influences that had started to make their presence felt in at the time. Rani Padmini, the wife of the King of Chittorgarh (Mewar) Rawal Ratan Singh, was renowned for her beauty and graceful charm. In fact, it was this beauty that attracted Ratan Singh to the Singhal king’s land where Padmini was the princess. Ratan Singh wooed and wed Padmini and received a huge dowry. Ratan Singh’s courtier Raghav Chetan incurred a reputation as a sorcerer. It may have been this or his demand of a share in the dowry – whatever the reason – the king banished Raghav Chetan who promised to exact revenge. He made his way to the court of Alauddin Khilji in Delhi. Raghav Chetan tried to entice an anti-Hindu Khilji to attack Chittorgarh, but his plans didn’t seem to work well. It was only when he started to describe Rani Padmini’s beauty that Khilji considered attacking the state and taking the queen forcefully. When Khilji laid siege to Chittorgarh, he realized that the well fortified kingdom would not surrender. He sent message to the king that he would withdraw his siege if allowed to look at Rani Padmini once. The queen assented to showing her reflection on a mirror. The sly Khilji, however had other plans. While his accomplices took note of the fort’s entry points and security arrangements, Khilji abducted the King who had accompanied him to the gates. Padmini, known for her ingenuity, sent a regiment of soldiers dressed as women in palanquins to enter the Khilji camp. Ratan Singh was rescued but the siege continued to drain Chittorgarh’s scant resources. Hearing that King Ratan Singh planned to storm out and face the odds of fighting a much larger army, Queen Padmini and the womenfolk of Chittorgarh prepared a sacrificial pyre and committed Jauhar (self immolation or ritual suicide) rather than facing dishonour at the hands of the enemy. The king and his men, infuriated by the loss of their family decided to commit Saka – a fight unto death, dressed in the ochre robes of ascetics or monk warriors. While Khilji’s army ultimately won the battle, the disappointment that faced them as they entered the fort robbed them of the pleasure of victory.

Chittorgarh is one of the most beautiful cities in the desert state of Rajasthan. Chittorgarh was the centre of Rajput pride and honour, the capital of the kingdom of the Chittorgarh Rajputs, well known for their bravery and courage. Located on the confluence of the Gambhiri and Berach Rivers, the city is home to the Chittorgarh Fort, a citadel that guarded the Rajputana honour for centuries. Chittorgarh, the crown jewel of Mewar, was known for the bravery and pride of the Rajputs who ruled the land since the end of the 11th century. The city was under siege thrice and each opportunity brought with it tales of valiant warfare and sacrifice. Chittorgarh became famous when its queens Rani Padmini and later Rani Karnavati led the womenfolk to commit Jauhar (self immolation) rather than face dishonour at the hands of enemies. The history of Chittorgarh is embellished with tales of the exemplary leadership and valour displayed by warriors like Gora and Badal. Maharana Pratap, the scion of the Sisodia kings, became immortal in history due to his valiant efforts to reclaim Chittorgarh.

Padmini Palace is the palace where Rani Padmini lived after marrying Rawal Ratan Singh, king of Chittorgarh who ruled between 1302-1303. It is one of the earliest palaces completely surrounded by water. This three storied white palace surrounded by a lotus pool is adorned by pavilions, chajjas, jaalis & jharokas. Rani Padmini was renowned for her beauty. It is believed that this was the place where Sultan Alauddin Khilji got a glimpse of the reflection of the beautiful Rani Padmini Allaudin Khiljis desire to possess her, led to the attack on Chittorgarh. Rawal Ratan Singh lost the battle & Rani Padmavati committed jauhar to save her dignity. And from here the practice of Jauhar began in India.

Padmini's Palace One of the prominent tourist attractions in Chittorgarh, Padmini’s Palace narrates the story of the Cleopatra of India-Rani Padmini in its design. Also known as Rani Padmini’s Palace, it flaunts a three-Storeyed structure, which has its outer walls painted white and it overlooks a pleasant lotus pool. Surrounded by water, the architecture of the Palace is somehow influenced by the Jal Mahal of Jaipur. History has it that Alauddin Khilji was smitten by the beauty of Rani Padmini and he used the surrounding water to catch the glimpses of her. His efforts to possess her resulted in the death of the Queen’s husband and her committing Jauhar. Today, the famous Padmini palace stands as a promising symbol of beauty, valor, honor and tragedy of the past of Chittor. Sites to look for around Padmini Palace: Chittorgarh is traveled a lot for its world renowned monuments. Apart from Padmini Palace, one can visit the Chittorgarh fort, Vijay Stambha, Kirti Stambha, Sanwariyaji temple and Meera temple in its vicinity.

The Padmini Mahal is a large structure in the Chittorgarh complex and clearly would’ve been one of the more important ones given that it was a palace for Queen Padmavati, wife of King Rawal Ratan Signh. Much of the former palace is just skeletal, but enough to imagine it would’ve been opulent. The southern park of the palace has views overlooking a lake and a prototypical Jal Mahal or water palace that sits in the middle of the lake. One of the best things to see inside Chittorgarh Fort complex.

Nice place for tourist visit. Timings: 9.30 AM to 5 PM Entry Fee: situated inside the fort complex Fort Entry Fee: Rs. 15 for Indian and Rs. 200 for Foreigner At a distance of 1.5 km from Kumbha Palace and 7.5 km from Chittorgarh Railway Station, Padmini Palace is situated at the southern part of Chittorgarh Fort. It is one of the most famous hitorical places to visit in Rajasthan and also one of the top places to visit in Chittorgarh. Padmini Palace was once the palatial abode of the exquisitely beautiful Rajput queen, Rani Padmini, the wife of King Rawal Ratan Singh. Revered as an epitome of beauty, Rani Padmini was the daughter of a Sinhala ruler Gandharvasen and plays a crucial role in the history of the gallant Rajput warriors. This queen was mentioned in the epic poem of 'Padmavati', which had been composed during 1540 CE, by Malik Muhammad Jayasi.  Rani Padmini Palace leaves behind the tincture of beauty, valour, sacrifice, honour, and tragedy of the past. Padmini Palace was the very legendary palace from where Ala-ud-din Khilji was permitted to obtain a glimpse of Padmini in a mirror placed in the main hall. Allured by her beauty, Ala-ud-din Khilji fought a fierce battle with Rana Ratan Singh, husband of Rani Padmini. Rani Padmini was augmented by her preference of death to abduction and dishonour during the historic siege of Chittor in 1303 AD, by Ala-ud-din Khilji. As an aftermath, Ala-ud-din Khilji killed thirty thousand Hindus in revenge and entrusted the fort to his son Khizr Khan. It is a 3 storied white building that overlooks a pleasant lotus pool. The palace is adorned by the pavilions at the top and surrounded water moats. The architecture of this palace becomes the example for many other notable structures which were surrounded by the water. The bronze gates to this palace were carried off by Akbar and can now be seen in Agra Fort. Near Padmini's Palace is a small prison where captured invaders were kept; former prisoners include sultans of Malwa and of Gujarat. Timings: 9.30 AM to 5 PM Entry Fee: situated inside the fort complex Fort Entry Fee: Rs. 15 for Indian and Rs. 200 for Foreigner

The Rani Padmini Palace is one of the forts inside the chittorgarh fort. The jal Mahal can be viewed from this place. This is my favourite stop among all the various architectural wonders in the chittorgarh fort. It's beautifully maintained(except the mindless scribbles of names on the walls) and it's not to be missed. The history and stories of the place are also unique and interesting.
