The Chittorgarh fort is the largest and a beautiful one. The Rana kumbh palace is located with the Chittorgarh palace. This is the location where Padmini committed Jauhar. The buildings and ambience are absolutely perfect and one can feel the history and heroic acts of our ancestors.

It starts around 7pm during June month. We took a guide to understand the historical background and paid ₹300. As a visitor, it's our responsibility to keep the surrounding clean and garbage free.

Rana Kumbha Palace is situated inside the Chittorgarh Fort in Rajasthan. It is located near the Vijay Stambha close to the entrance gate. The ruins of the once famous palace have the temple of Lord Shiva, Zanana mahal, Diwan -e -aam, along with a stable for horses. According to the legends, the founder of the city of Udaipur, Maharana Udai Singh was born here, and his life was saved by his wet nurse Panna Dai, who hid him inside a fruit basket. This place was once the home of the famous bhakti poetess Meerabai. It is also believed, that Rani Padmini organized her self- immolation or jauhar inside this fort. There is also a wonderful night show which is worth visiting..... It charges around 200-300 rupees

Originally the palace was built by Bappa Rawal in 734 AD and later it was rebuilt by Maharana Kumbha. As per the historians, the palace witnessed the birth of Maharana Udai Singh who was the founder of Udaipur. It is believed that his life was saved in this palace only by a nurse who hid him inside the fruit basket. The Rana Kumbha Palace was also home to famous religious poetess Mirabai. Each and every corner of the palace carries some sort of history with it and will take you back to the historical period of Maharana Kumbha and Maharana Udai Singh.

Kumbha palace is before the 7th pole. It's at walking distance from the ticket window . Ticket is mandatory for the entry. You can take photographs here on the ground but not on the walls. It's fantastic place. It's too big to roam around. You will find different different things here .the city view is pleasant .

THE KUMBHA BAGH located in Kumbhalgarh is one of the nation;s best and most luxurious fascinating hotels with excellent service provision for locals and international visitors on business, tour or visit of any kind. The hotel has won several awards for providing topnotch exclusive services in the hospitality industry in Ahmedabad and is still at it for as long as people will need the best of hotel services in the country at every point in time of the year. This hotel is a magnificent stunning hill-top resort 3500 ft above sea level, same height as KUMBHALGARH FORT, which has been fantastically built into a luxurious, sophisticated and impossibly romantic retreat. Nestled in the Aravali hills, 85 kilometers away from the bustle of Udaipur, this all suite luxury resort assumes the look of new India with an emphasis on design and detail.

Beautiful in its own right. Even though most of it is in ruins, the beauty of the place is immense. Hidden tunnels, water conservation systems, stories and the history of the place is just absolutely breathtaking. Take your time at this place, there's plenty of beautiful things to see and experience. The light and sound show that happens in the evening and also wonderful and i would recommend attending that as well, it begins at 7pm!

Rana Kumbha Mahal is a historic palace in Chittorgarh. It was built by Rana Kumbha, a ruler of the Mewar kingdom, in the 15th century. The palace showcases impressive architecture and is known for its intricate carvings and designs. It stands as a testament to the rich history and cultural heritage of the region. Must Visit fort , This fort's unparalleled grandeur surpassed anything I had ever witnessed, its architectural marvel and commanding presence weaving a spellbinding tapestry of awe and admiration.

The entrance to the palace is on a steep inclined pathway which was originally used by the horses. This Palace was built by the great Rajput king Rana Kumbh but currently lies in a dilapidated condition. Our guide explained us the history of the palace across different generations of Rajput Kings and showed us the ruins of buildings which was once the residence of kings, queens, ministers, servants, horses etc. Most of the buildings have been destroyed by kings who invaded Chittorgarh fort. Maharana Kumbha is credited to having rebuilt the State of Mewar and of the 84 fortresses that defended Mewar 32 were erected by Maharana Kumbha.

Rana Kumbha Palace is associated with queen Padmini of Chittorgarh. The palace is also named after the greatest of the Sisodias. Here queen Padmini committed Jauhar or self immolation. The self immolation was also joined by 700 followers to save honor.  Builder-734 AD by Bappa Rawal- founder of the House of Mewar; later renovated by Maharana Kumbha. Princess Mira Bai also resided in this palace. She was a famous poetess of that era.. worth a visit..

Kumbha Palace is popularly known as the Chittorgarh Fort which is also famous for being the talked about place in the movie Padmaavat. I was much more keen to visit ever since I imagined how magnificent it must have been centuries back. It does look haunted and broken now but if you just observe, you will see the beauty in the ruins. The scale of built, covered area and huge walls still stand strong. It is natural and maintained by the state. Just nearby is the Vijay Stambh a.k.a. The Tower of Victory and the Jauhar ground where Queen Padmini performed self sacrifice with over 14,000 other ladies to defeat Allaudin Khilji's intentions.

Kumbhalgarh Palace is huge, tall and intimidating. The walls of the fort spans second to what the Great Wall of China measures to. One can only be in awe with the surrounding mountains on one side and fields & forests on the other. It is a must-go when you happen to go to Rajasthan.

  • 5/5 Preetham C. 4 years ago on Google
Another palace in chittorgarh which is completely in ruins. You will only see the walls standing. The ceilings are gone. The structure is gone. It is said that khilji was so furious when he did not get Padmini that he destroyed the entire structure of everything in the chittorgarh fort. The only thing you can do is walk around the ruins and go to the top most point and admire the beauty by looking down at the city. It's beautiful. The structure in itself is a pure admiration of the architecture of the past.
