It's such a great place for family to spend their time and introduce some animals to the kids. It isn't that grand like Taman Safari but it's good and green enough. It will be better if it's clean (a lot of moss covered the drink bowl of the animals) and put another lion and tiger so they won't be lonely 😂

I love this zoo! They have cool animals, good services. But what i dont like is the elephant show viewer place is hot. And almost anything there is too expensive, just a little wallet price is 70k. And if we want to see the lions, we must buy the premium ticket, why?.

A must visit place when you visit Solo! (Especially if you're a family with a toddler) The zoo is clean. The staff are super friendly, professional and helpful. All payment can be done both cash and cashless (you can even pay the toilet fee and all the food and beverage using QRIS) There's a few show that they provide. Each show will last for 10-ish minutes, so don't have your expectations too high, but well why not check it out, it's already included in the ticket anyway. They have a restaurant/bistro where you can be next to the lion (there's a thick glass separator of course) but it gives you a different view then other places. You can have lunch with the lion You can get the tickets both online and offline but I suggest offline is also fine. The tricky part is their parking lot which is located in the back of the building, so you gotta park there and then they'll provide a few vehicles of non-AC shuttle/angkot to take you to the main building area.

Good place to visit but not-a-must-visit. Other safari is better. Please be ready of super-long-distance walking from the last exhibit to the exit door. You need the “premium ticket” to be able to use the shuttle service, WHICH they don’t even mention in their IG page. They should at least give an option to pay shuttle on the spot rather than letting visitor (especially with baby and/or elderly people) to walk that horrendous distance.

Booked ticket in advance will help you save time. I came here in the afternoon, enough time to catch the 4 pm elephant show. It is relatively new, so I guess the animals are still adapting to their new enclosure ans its surrounding. Hope all of them could thrive here. Great to have this kind of place so close to the city. Traffic is soooo terrible on weekend though.

The place was cool, pretty much get the “jungle” ambience. But the animal diversity and shows are very limited esp when you pay 75k for high season. Need to put more air-fan/air cooler esp when the weather is very hot. A bit disappointed for the public toilet esp the nurserY/baby changing room, they charge you for Rp2K but the cleanliness is very poor for the nursery room also it’s hot, NOT COMFORTABLE FOR BABIES AND MOTHER WHO NURSE.. Maybe you should fix this to bring more comfort esp for family with babies.

[Solo Safari] More than a common zoo!!! Compared with Ragunan/ Gembira loka, this zoo is way more smaller than the other. But they offer show and animal attractions that very interesting to watch! Price is quite cheap around 60k on weekend (could be cheaper on weekdays). Located in central Surakarta, accessibility on this place is easy to find. My recommendation would be go to this place on weekend because they offer many attractions to watch.

It offers regular and premium ticketing, that is for me not really significantly different. They provide some animal education or shows. The area is large enough. A good place to bring children. The place is strategic. It has a resto and canteen.

I thought Gembira Loka Zoo in Jogja is too expensive for the ticket, but after visiting this "safari" GL zoo much more worth it haha sorry. Animals not vary and just a couple each species. They don't even have tiger, lion, crocodile. If the concept is "safari" than I'm okay if there isn't enough explanation board on each spot. But this place more to a zoo than safari so would be better if provided the visitors with fruitful Information not just "I am Owa Jawa, my passion is singing" 😅😅😅 on reptiles area only provide with aquarium with snake or turtle, what....a disappointment. Not informative at all. A note for the staffs, they're super friendly and helpful, salute to them 👍👍👍 But still, for now, it's not worth the price yet. Hope can be developed more.

This place have potential attractions. It need some improvements on facilities and tidiness. Parking lot is in a remote distance, shuttle condition is below average, waiting time is more than 5 minutes

A good place to escape during your holiday or weekend with beloved ones. Huge place to take a walk. They provide internal bus as well with cheap price. Small playground cost 10 thousand rupiah per arena. Lot of food street you may find along the side walk. They have elephant, tiger, eagle, turtles, crocodile, deers, buffalo, camel, bear, snakes, etc. I enjoy my trip at this place and definetely will go back sometimes This place need more development and attention from local government. A good renovation will build this place stronger, please add more animals variant as well. Please take a good care for them. Thank you Jurug Solo Zoo..

As we are tourists here, we chose a weekday to visit this place. The entrances along with the whole area is so neat and clean. There are enough toilets for your convenience. There are a lot of animals, (more than 15) a couple of shows that you can enjoy without paying extra money. The place is really so good and the behaviour of the staff is excellent. Wherever we met them, they were with a smiling face. They let us feed birds which was an amazing experience for me. Although this zoo is not so big nor with hundreds of animals, that place made my day because it is so beautifully arranged.

Green and fresh ambience. Completed with many kinds of animals, fish, reptiles, mammals. We can ride elephants and camels with extra cost. Need good stamina to explore the whole parts of the site. But, it's nice to spend your day with your kinds here. The staffs are friendly and helpful. I can see waste basket everywhere, so there is no reason for the visitors to litter.

The zoo in the solo city is not too big but quite interesting for children's entertainment attractions. The animals in this zoo are not too many. To enter the zoo can take the available bus by paying more for tickets. For the price of the entrance ticket I forgot sorry :) But what I remember is not expensive, it doesn't cost IDR 50,000 so it's very affordable.

This is very beautiful zoo in Solo City! Such an epic lake they have in the middle of the zoo... Cannot wait to see more animals and lion still in quarantine. The Restaurant will be amazing we could have lunch and see the lion right beside our spot!!

Just wonder how this zoo gonna be. Since all the animal are living together without any separation walls. Overall, being here are breathtaking. Moreover, the ticket is too pricey.

First, the safari is clean. The animals are various but mostly are primate. The lions are beside the makunda restaurant where you can have breakfast with the animals. There are also a lot of educational show for the visitors. On the other side, you have to pay for the toilets and the premium tickets are worthless. The safari does not have their own parking space, so you have to park illegally outside. To conclude, the safari is worth the money only if you buy the normal tickets and do not go for the premium ones. Pro tips: come on Sunday, because they have the weekly komodo feeding show.

Procedures arent clear to tourism. There are several misscomunications. I bought the tickets online. The staffs said that I had to wait in line to exchange the tickets. Waited for almost 30 mins for ticketing just to get passed into other waiting lines. Turns out if we have the QR code in the tickets we didnt have to wait in line to exchange the ticket. For those who bought the tickets online, just go straight to the entrance and scan the QR code. The parking spot is far from the entrance. My poor grandma had to walk through the entrance but thank god there's a dropping point. The animals overall are awesome but its hard to see them because of the distance. We didnt knew that if we wanted to see the lion you must eat in the restaurant first. There are no sign so we thought that we could see the lions just like every animal there but turns out its only for people who eat in the restaurants only. Next time maybe give more detail explanations on the sign so people dont have to walk a long way only to let their expectations down. The place is quite big but its very hot. I suggest you bring an umbrella or a hat to cover yourself from the burning sun.

Ticket for adult 75k and chil under 6 is 60k. You can buy premium 100. The benefit is you get souvenir n bus pick up when going back. Toilets inside the safari must pay. But the toilets near ticket desk are free. Restaurants and food and drink stall inside are pricey. You cant bring food drink into Safari. You can leave in the locker by paying 5k. You'd better not bring your food. You should know the schedule of animal show. It usually performs on weekend. It's hot and rare shady trees inseide. You'd better wear cap or umbrella. Animals collection isnt complete yet compared to other zoos. You can have photos 115k 2 pieces. You may not pay if you dont want them. Feeding animals, you must pay for the animal's food. You can play in the free playground before exit and free mini library.

Here are some pictures about Solo Zoo, before & after take over by TSI. Now it looks more modern, cleaner than the previous one, also the service from the officers are in 5 starts⭐️ . unfortunately, the zoo is getting smaller than before.

It's okay. Wish it had more shades especially in the show areas and petting zoo area; at 11 AM it felt scorching hot and thus not really child friendly. Quite okay from the entrance all the way to the back, but nothing much happening halfway returning. Parking lot was functional, super dusty and could benefit from more signage towards it. Official photographers should inform the visitors in advance why were they doing what they did and ask for consent first. It got potential and going to the right way, but just not there yet.

The zoo is better than a few years before, but it still is a low tier zoo. Many enclosures look dreadful and often resemble only cages, not what the animals' habitat are.

This is the worst zoo ever !!!! Look at the cages, those are belongs to big cats ... the cages are small, damp, dirty and the cats are look unhealthy, unenergetic ... really makes me mad and sad seeing them ... the zoo layout also confusing it scatters randomly, food stalls are old dirty and the food they're selling aren't hygiene/fresh ... not recommended, wouldn't come back . Better it closed down and sent all the animals back to their natural place

+The architectural and concept is good +Zoo keeper is very friendly -Ticket is a bit expensive for Solo's standart -Parking lot using a side road, and you need to walk in the direct sun to ticket station, the worst part is getting back to parking lot from this place -The animal isn't that much, and there's a bit boring actually -You need to PAID for using bathroom, they even had qris for payment -To see the lion, you must buy food at café, and it is expensive, again for Solo's standart -A lot of area is like super hot bcs the trees isn't covering them

The vibe is very different from the old Jurug Zoo but they still have to do a lot of efforts to bring the well known "Taman Safari" vibes. I think that this zoo is not 100% ready yet. Still some spots to fix and it's not very well decorated. Waste/rubbish are not managed very well

Upgraded version of jurug zoo. Well in my opinion, there are a lot of things that need to be improved. Since it's just renovated, there are not enough big trees as a canopy. As a result quite a lot of exhibits are really hot and the animal is also looking for shade around the exhibits. Quite sad actually. What I really have no idea is why the lion exhibit is located inside the restaurant? It makes regular visitors not comfortable, since restaurants are for VIP or premium visitors. Maybe in the future it will have a sumatran tiger or javan leopard (actually there are javan leopards around mount Lawu). Keep up the good work. Thank you.

When they said premium (with more expensive ticket price) is a priority, in fact it didnt. As you can see in this video, not all in here is using this orange bracelet which supposed to be assigned / wear for them who can sit here. Related to online booking, especialy if you book from online travel agencies, to be inform, child definition is under 120 cm and its free.

Solo Safari is a renovated and renewed the former Jurug Zoo. I think it is still in the progress because some parts are still not ready yet. The animals collection is still limited, but it is enjoyable. I suggest you to wear cap or bring umbrella if you visit the zoo in the afternoon. There are two kinds of entrance tickets. But, because I was kind of in a rush, I didn't really pay attention on the two kinds. I bought the Rp 60.000,- (on the holidays) tickets. During normal days the price is Rp 45.000,- each. Something that interests me is there are two electronic ticket machines. You can buy the tickets there and pay it via your e-money or internet banking.

Super hot. Should bring hat and umbrella. And buy regular tickets, cos the advance ticket no use for me. Advance tickets only got riding an electric car in the end of the trips. And not for long time, maybe just for 5 minutes.

The place is honestly overrated in terms of facilities and the variety of animals. Animal interactions cost money despite our premium tickets. However, I have to highlight the apparent " Solo Hospitality" displayed by each and everyone of the staff, showing that with great human resources, this zoo has multiple potentials to find. P.S. Do try feeding the sulcatas. They are the friendliest creatures and the highlight of my visit.

It's remain same over past 15 years. I mean, the zoo never get significant renovation. But it's better than before. Honestly I don't recommend of you bring a toddler with you. We should walking so far, the facility also need to renew. I hope the management rehabilitate better. For example : gembiraloka zoo as inspiration 😊

A very underappreciated zoo in the town of Solo. The zoo is not very big, yet its its collection of animals is plenty enough for a good time at the weekends. These animals include elephants, tigers, sun bears, deer, various monkeys, birds, etc. Admission price is also quite low for the quality you're getting. Note that not all animals in the facility are treated equal, some are still kept in dirty wire cages with concrete floors, and the elephants are still chained and used for elephant rides which are no longer condoned internationally. This is however, but a small part of the zoo and the rest of the animals are kept in spacious enclosures.

(Translated by Google) Taman Jurug is an educational recreation, especially for school age, there are various types of animals provided. The arrangement is better, but it would be nice to make it as good as possible, the layout must be clear so that visitors are not confused. There are many kinds of animals in this zoo, but visitors also have to walk far to enjoy or see the animals. Parking is quite large, many sellers are provided food or souvenirs in or in the garden environment. You can ride an elephant or other animal that is provided and the pay is quite cheap.

(Translated by Google) Sorry ... How come the age limit for visitors is 15 years and over sir ... Is that true .. It's not that zoos are supposed to educate kcl children so they can know various types of animals directly sir ... isn't that so .. ?? My plan is to bring the kids there sir ... So it's useless if the kids under the 15th are not allowed to enter anyway ... it's a shame in my opinion .... (Original) Mohon maaf ... Kok peraturan batas usia pengunjung 15 tahun keatas pak.. Jadi yaa percuma saja klo anak2 kcl dibwh 15th tdk diperbolehkan masuk sihh.. sayang sekaliii menurut saya....

(Translated by Google) The zoo that has been subscribed is the destination of study tours for pre-school to elementary school children in Solo Raya. The place is spacious, clean, comfortable, good for traveling. If you are tired of walking, you can take a mini train. There are many traders of toys and souvenirs with the theme of safari. The animal collection is quite complete. It's a shame the animals are a bit neglected. Hopefully in the future the manager will pay more attention to the conditions of the animals at the Jurug Zoo. (Original) Kebun binatang yang langganan jadi tujuan study tour anak-anak pra-sekolah hingga SD di Solo Raya. Tempatnya luas, bersih, nyaman, enak buat jalan-jalan. Kalau capek jalan, bisa naik kereta mini. Banyak dijumpai pedagang mainan maupun cenderamata bertema safari. Koleksi hewannya cukup lengkap. Sayang banget hewan-hewannya agak nggak terurus. Semoga ke depan pengelola lebih memperhatikan kondisi hewan-hewan di Kebun Binatang Jurug.

It’s a nice public place to hangout with your children while they learn many things about animal and nature. It can help to teach them to connect with nature and let them know the values.

  • 2/5 Farrel M. 2 years ago on Google
Overall it's a rundown zoo. Animals collection are not great and some of them are not getting nearly enough of their needs. Imagine a tiger kept in 5x5 meters (17'x17') enclosure. A 17-foot saltwater crocodile with barely 30cm (12") of water. I can go on and on. Food courts are not great. By the way, the zoo is managed by the city government.

basically it is only an ordinary city zoo with small area to cover thus small amount of animals collection. not too well organized. but would certainly be a good destination for most people with kids.

I got bad experience in here. Last week I had visited this place. I could watch almost all the animals. But today? I couldn't watch watusi. I asked the employee just to take the pict of the animals, but he refused. So, my suggestion just come in Solo Safari after the construction finish! Or you'll be dissapointed

  • 3/5 Thomas C. 1 year ago on Google
It is quite expensive compared to available attractions. There are lots of empty area without any animal. The place is also very hot and lack of shading. You should prepare sunblock, hat, and umbrella if you visit this place.

New face of kebun binatang Taman Jurug Solo, performance by Taman Safari Management engage with pemkot Solo. More complete with animal attractions better than the first opening few months ago. There are two options ticket, reguler and premium. Benefits of premium ticket are welcome drink (small glass of ice tea, free boogie car drive back to exit gate. But I think it's too expensive compare with another location of Taman Safari

A great day out and a good place for a relaxing walk around viewing the animals and feeding some of them too!

  • 2/5 Kevin K. 11 months ago on Google
The place is not ready for opening. It's way too hot to visit during the day. The show area doesn't even have a canopy, so people are forced to use umbrellas, which blocks view. Hopefully the management will consider this, instead of trying to push umbrella sale.

  • 4/5 Restin M. 10 months ago on Google
Hopefully there will be more seats and gazebos to enjoy the view without buy the food. Please sell souvenirs cheaper so we can buy lots for friends and family's souvenir. The price of food should not be too expensive because it is not allowed to bring from outside.
