Cheap, friendly tenants, many choices of groceries. Cons : Too crowded, motorcycles park anywhere they want and sometimes blocking the shoppers.

Many varieties of vegetables, etc. If you are new and want to buy ones, check with other sellers to get a better price.

A traditional market in the middle of Solo. Locals buy their freshest food here. Some of the hawkers sell good snacks for 1500rp per piece. Somehow this market is old yet not maintained well. Bad drainage, bad road, and bad sanitation haunts this mighty market. This market is open and hectic 24 hours a day, and I guess it explains the problems.

One of my go to traditional market. The price are affordable, you can find various vegetables and fruits from a lot of merchants there. I recommend you to shop early in the morning (around 3am or 4am) for cheaper price and fresh products.

I could find my need, such as vegetables or fruits. The price is extremely cheap (for me) and the quality is quite good. Don't forget, it's a market, so you will find many people here.

One of traditional market in Surakarta, located on the northern area of city center. For some time, it opens 24-hours. No complaint for goods sold here, but place was not really well maintained. Tenants was not nicely placed, so it's difficult to shop when it got crowd, not to mention unusual tenant's motorbike traffic. It could be improved, considering overall area to tenant's area ratio.

It was an awesome experience when the first time I came here. The people are nice, a lot of them only sell in big party. You can find a lot of spices if you want to make curry. There's a store near to the stairs on 1st floor.
