I've been in apartment 3 for a few nights now, which had been negatively reviewed a year or so ago. I can say now that the apartment isn't as bad, clean, mould free bathrooms and no bad smell or bugs of any kind. Only downside is the TV being an outdated Foxtel box with AV cables. Would recommend for summer.

We spent a long weekend at Splendido just recently. It’s a wonderful little resort very conveniently placed on the Gold Coast, and quite close to the beach. The resort is very modern and all aspects were immaculate. The unit was very clean, well equipped and very comfortable. The pool area and surrounding grounds are very well kept, and clean. We also found the manager to be very pleasant and only to happy to help and advise us regarding our visit. We’ve recommended Splendido to our family and friends, and we’ll definitely be coming back in the future.

Upon entering our room (unit 3), we were welcomed by an unusual stench; it was that type of smell that suggested the room had not been cleaned out for a while. Our family could immediately tell air freshener of some sort had been deliberately used to mask the strong odour - but even that was not enough. In addition to this we also noted that: 1. The air conditioning system in both the bedrooms and lounge room were filled and clogged up with dust 2. There was a musty old sock located behind one of the foldable beds, that was obviously not ours 3. The curtains and windows were dirty 4. There were old oil stains next to the kitchen stove and on range hood 5. We found a decently sized spider hidden behind one of the wardrobes and a huge ant-like insect crawling on one of the beds. 6. There were old spider cobwebs on the bedroom ceiling. 7. The furniture was old, mediocre in quality and worn down 8. Also, the receptionist service and mannerisms was relatively poor in our opinion I'm not sure if other units were like this, but a complaint about this exact unit had already been made a year ago by another family. Despite all these cons, there were positives, albeit very few including a relatively clean and mould free bathroom, semi comfortable beds, and a decent operating pool and spa. Overall, our experience was definitely below par from previous accommodations we have stayed in. We were disappointed, but the apartment itself definitely has potential to be a good one with consistent quality assurance and maintenance.

Very clean and an amazing stay. I accidentally left my samsung watch and the manager held on to it till I could come pick it up. So appreciative and grateful 🙏 would definitely stay again

Absolutely disgusting. Walls filthy, tried to fill the bath for the kids and it was filthy aswell, left a black ring around it so i ended up showering the kids in the other bathroom. Went to grab a spare blanket off the shelf, a used syring fell down from ontop of it. Need a key to get out of the bottom of the stairwell!! The location would be the only good thing about the place. Definitely would not stay again.

Spacious, clean and comfortable, a 5 minute walk to the beach and restaurants across the road.

Where do I begin? At $550 per night ( paid for 3 nights, we felt like leaving after the first) the apartment was beyond dissapointing! FILTHY We walked into the foul stench of dirty a/c's. The walls require a lot of spot cleaning and perhaps a coat of paint, mould to bathroom ceiling, fingerprints & drink spatter to walls,1/2 inch of dust to all skirting boards, dust to all door mouldings. Beds were rock solid, The bedlinen appears to be the only clean thing( lets hope so anyways) Shower tiles have mould, filthy floors, enough dust in the vents to trigger asthma even if you don't have it. Kitchen- The glass cooktop appears to have never been cleaned(just pull it out & bin it), rangehood covered in grease, the last guests half a bag of ice in the freezer, crumbs in the oven, dirty floors throughout including chips on the carpet in the lounge area. Furniture is crappy, damaged and outdated.It appears to have smears of sunscreen to the lounge and built in cupboard.The apartment requires a couple of bottles of bleach and some good old fashioned elbow grease . The last little girls backpack with toys remain in the wardrobe.The balcony could use a hose, grotty tiles, filthy glass, dirty outdoor furniture. The list goes on and on.... I'd ask for a refund but let's get honest that will never happen therefore I'd rate Splendido Apartment no.9 as a 1 for the pool/parking and location only!

Great location but the building interior (stairwells) appear rundown and could definitely use a fresh coat of paint, new carpet and better lighting. Branches are overhanging the walkway from the pool area and there’s zero privacy if you’re having a swim. Would still recommend staying for the location though.

Review based on our stay in unit 18. Clean, large open kitchen, lounge, dinning area. Ground floor easy access to pool for kids. Only things that let it down - toilet broken & the other leaks, fans in bathrooms don’t work, dryer doesn’t work, cigarette smoke comes in from someone in an adjoining unit. If not for those things it would be a 5. These photos are of unit 18 with easy access to the pool.

Love the pool and hot spa we really enjoy the stay

Great location close to the beach. Self service was good and easy to work with. Unit was a little tired and a couple of things like the bedroom light and a PowerPoint didn't work. Other than that it was nice. Pool area was good with heated spa. Walking distance to beach was awesome.

Not sure how this compares to other places in the gold coast, but I didn't find it up to the standard of what we received for the same price in Brisbane as the rooms were not as up to date as other places we stayed. It is close to the beach which was good, and we did make use of the outdoor BBQ a few times which was great. The bed was VERY old however, to the point that each spring is poking you in the back when you sleep.

We requested a ground floor apartment as I am on crutches and unable to navigate stairs very well. We received a room on the third floor in a building with no lift. The carpet on the room was stained and dirty. The carpet in the corridor and stairs leading to the room looked like someone had bled extensively in the recent past. The pool was nice but everything was stairs with no provision for disabled persons. There was a nice changing room off the pool but it was down stairs and the slippery kind of floor tiles, making it tough to navigate with a disability. All in all I would not return and I would not recommend, either to an abled or a disabled person. Response to the Owner - I have the credit card receipts you charged me for the stay so don't claim what I said wasn't true. I was definitely in your location. My wife requested in writing the lower ground floor and confirmed in a phone call on the day we were arriving that we wanted the lower ground floor. I didn't review immediately because we were seeing family that evening and we're back on the road early the next day. I was on crutches, we met one of your permanent residents in the hallway and several people watched me maneuvering around your pool area. Go up to the third floor apartments (left side facing from the gold coast highway) look down in the passage leading to the rooms and tell me those dont look like blood stains on the carpet. My wife and I both commented on them at the time. Plus I wanted to think about how I was going to review your establishment. I think your response has confirmed my initial review. If you have read my reviews you will note I am generally positive, very rarely negative, you may want to consider why my experience was so poor I didn't give a great review. I would suggest doing some reading on how to handle social media reviews. This is the wrong way.

The room was very nice. Clean, roomy and well equipped, abs the price is reasonable. Pool and patio area is a good space, abs the location is great for the beach or for Surfers, Robina, etc. Only reason I've scored it down is that the bed in our room was like sleeping on a slab of concrete and we ended up sleeping on the sofa. With a softer mattress on there, I would have scored this place higher.

Booked for a week and received unit 3. It appeared clean but the smell said otherwise. En-suite bathroom smelt like an old mop and bleach. Mould throughout and not cleaned properly. The leather couches were not clean. The kitchen smelled of curry and some sort of air freshener to mask it which made a terrible combination. Limited utensils with no matching sets fir cooking and table ware. Very disappointing for the price. We had previously stayed while the previous managers were there and it was great. The only positive was that I was given a full refund without issue after complaining.

Only thing good was the room sizes. When we first entered, floor was damp, had a very odd almost foul stench like cleaning rarely occurs. Large areas of rust around windows, finger prints and general grime over the entire apartment walls, dirty windows, shower was so painful in the main bedroom water was so hard could not change pressure. Washer and dryer were very small. Had to do multiple loads for a family of 5. Beds were very hard, blankets thin as paper, balcony filthy, used the vaccum had not been emptied ever! Opened and cleaned it myself, dead large load of maggots, filters have never been changed, mould encased both filters, the stench from the vaccum was putrid. Very thin walls. Pool and spa area kept clean and tidy.
