Well maintained railway station. Transport from railway station to anywhere in town easily available by autos. Foot over bridge, food stalls, VIP waiting lounge, upper class waiting lounge are some of the other amenities available at the 3 platform railway station.

Washim has been a historical place since ages. It was once a capital place of Vakatak dynasty. It is said to be a centre place of India. It has lot of temples and Mosques. Balaji temple, Karuneshwar temple, Chamunda temple, Madhyameshwar temple are few among them. Washim receives around 900 to 1100 average rainfall. Agriculture is a major business here. It was earlier a part of Akola district of Maharashtra. In 1998, Washim was separated with six blocks under it as a new district. Its calm and quiet as well as affordable atmosphere makes it suitable to settle after retirement.
