We thought we’d give this place one more chance, but my god we shouldn’t have. The last 3 times, over an HOUR AND A HALF for food!! Ordered a kids bbq chicken and it came out cremated and inedible. Had to be sent back, we were told 20 minute wait but was well over an hour and a half, the manager didn’t seem proactive about addressing customers or tables to see if anyone needed anything or to explain the delay, he simply just stood behind the bar waiting for the next customer to get annoyed with the lack of management and ludicrous waiting times. We were regulars, once a week, now we won’t come back. The food took so long to come out that my partner had actually lost his appetite by the time it came out, same as myself, rendering this a waste of money. My son, got restless and I had to keep nagging the staff, had I not asked it would have been longer! Over and hour and a half for a child to wait for a small chicken fillet and some chips, it was obvious they had just been left on the hot plate. I mean really?! There was a useless cover manager last time so we thought we’d give it one more go, but the current manager seems to be just as clueless. The whole place is chaos with no structure or organisation, with no idea who’s ordered what at what time and people just complaining. The whole evening we heard complaint after complaint. I’m sorry to write this but seriously, the old supervisor Tania did a better job than the manager and his wife alone. Absolutely diabolical and won’t be returning. Such a shame as use to be a lovely place to come. I hope this helps someone not have the same experience and that maybe this will be read and change will be made… sadly not so hopeful. No apology, discount or voucher offered either. Salad looked like it had set there for a few days to be honest. The coleslaw looked as if it was about to walk off by itself. Overall, I would have to say to avoid. Sorry harvester.

Pretty shocking really. Attended a family birthday meal here. Booked a table for 18, to be told on arrival that they had given our table away and proceeded to seat us on talk and with other dinner guests in between us. There wasn’t enough high chairs for the children when they finally did bring them the high chairs were grotesque and clearly haven’t been cleaned in weeks/months. 45 minutes in we still didn’t have drinks orders taken. Fire exits and escape routes blocked. Salad bar wasn’t clean. Staff were not very helpful. Organisation was chaos, leadership was non existent. Why would anybody come here again, I do not no.

As soon as we have arrived we had to wait for meet n greet person for 10 min and then as soon as we had our table we have waited for 2 mains (fish n chips and rack of ribs) for 55 min which is absolutely unacceptable. When I went there to find out they came with a silly excuse: “if you have ordered starters then as soon as starters been served to table then we start to prepare food after that” which doesn’t make any sense as everyone else was served on time and there was half empty and bot busy at all. Unsatisfactory.

Toilets basic, with no soap for hand washing in the ladies, I mentioned it to the waitress, but on a second visit at the end of our meal it still didn’t have any soap with the toilet roll empty. On arrival the table was wiped, but the chair had food on it. The service was good to ok, some of the servers didn’t seem to know which orders we’re going to which table, the salad bar was a bit empty with no brown rolls. I think I would pass on another visit, what happened to the Harvester of 40 years ago?

Multiple times I’ve been here with partner friends and children. Food is good just like any normal pub/restaurant meals, we did have to wait a long while on all those time we’ve visited for our meals to arrive. But I must say each visit the staff have been lovely, friendly and can tell they work very hard. Especially the gentleman who I never got the name of (but he’s short with brown hair) has been attentive each time.

The staff and service was fantastic! We had Ruth as our table host abs she thought of everything. She brought out the children's meals a little earlier than adults so they didn't overheat under the heat lamps waiting and the kids weren't hungry, she found me on the quiet before offering deserts to let me know the ice cream machine had just overheated. This was great as it meant I could prep the children to think of different things to have for pudding. She brought out children's cutlery unprompted, was very friendly to us, understanding of dietary needs and generally enabled us all to have a relaxed and happy visit. She smiled the entire way through. Thank you

Had a fantastic time down at the Harvest. Our server, Tania was absolutely amazing and very welcoming. I loved her cheery attitude and welcoming demeanor. I highly recommend the King's Head to my friends and family from now on.

Nice meal and great friendly service, weird thing about this harvester is that they arent allowed to have olives in the salad bar for some reason. Little annoyed they had no bacon bits either at the salad everyone goes to the salad bar just for the bacon bits after all.

We went as a family for lunch . Our waitress Tania was so attentive, really helpful, and deserves 5 stars alone. Food is the usual menu but a firm favourite with the family. Tania is new, she told us she had only been there a few weeks but the service was impeccable I loved the little thank you card made by her daughter ❤

My husband and I had a lovely meal here this evening. The food was great (ribeye steak and scampi) and Debbie our waitress was just lovely! It was her birthday and she was so cheery and kind so she made our evening. Thank you - we will be back!

Went for meal with my daughter, greeted by friendly staff member who booked us in and showed us to our table. We were served by the lovely Kayley who was very attentive. The food was fantastic, my steak was cooked to perfection, as was my daughters chicken. All in all it was a wonderful meal, and all the staff we encountered were very friendly. We will be returning.

We visited for breakfast with Santa today and it was lovely. The food was prompt, warm and tasty. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and so attentive with our 16 month old. Sarah served us and she was brilliant! The Santa was so friendly, coming over to greet us when we arrived and walking around to talk to all the children. One of the friendliest Santa's we've meet, there were no tears from our little one as she played peek-a-boo with Santa. Santa and Mrs Clause also looked so authentic, with lovely outfits. No cheap, rubbish santa polyester! Such good value as well, £9.99 for a children's breakfast, drink, meeting Santa in his grotto and a little goody bag to take away. The grotto area was also very cute. We'll happily make this an annual tradition with our little family.

Revised opening times on a note at the door, now opens 1130 on Sunday (and not 0900 as per Google). All shut up when we arrived at 1030, and found we were the only vehicle in the car park. From previous visits, the food and drinks (coffee, tea, beers, gins) are all good. Sunday roast dinners were excellent (last year) and I've no reason to doubt they have changed. Very handy for canal towpath walks, coming from either the Ash or Deepcut directions.

First time in 20 years and it was a great experience. Took our young children and they loved it! The food was great and very quick, our server Debbie was really lovely and super tentative and she could have done more for us. We will definitely be coming back.

Friendly welcoming staff. Unfortunate shortage of ribs at the time and unwilling to serve any meal with ribs as part of the meal. Small portion size. Tasty food however. Usual all you can eat salad made up for it. Bargain with 50% off mains voucher tho. Always a fan of a Harvester.

Went for breakfast after Parkrun and was really impressed with the menu and quality of food. The service and friendly staff were amazing. Will definitely be back when on the area.

Our Server Helen was amazing from start to finish. She had many large tables to take care of but was patient and understanding with my two young daughters. Cheering my 4 year old on for eating her dinner. Talking to my 1 year old who loved her attention. She made our dining out experience and amazing one. We cannot begin to thank her enough. She truly is the best server I've ever had. I will be coming back again purely for her service.

Do not eat the cod and chips you will regret. I had to send my cod and chips back as the batter on inside was soggy (really soggy) and the cod tasted like water had litrally no flavor. I sent the cod back in hopes it would be better but unfortunately the second cod arrived just as bad and is the worst cod I've ever been served. The rest of the family enjoyed there meals so just seems the cod is being rushed Staff friendly and helpful and location is great with free parking Real shame as previous visits have been great just a shame I went for the cod

From the moment my family and I walked through the door to the minute we left our experience was that of pure joy. Normally eating out is a chore with our two kids as they both have their own unique needs but Tanya who I assume is a manager and Autumn our waitress made sure they went out of their way to include them in their own ways. The food was beautifully cooked, I recommend the double dirty combo which is what I had tonight followed by a liquor coffee complete with a nice shot of glenfiddich. I haven’t been to a harvester for a couple of years and to be honest never had any complaints but also never had much of a reason to compliment the service but tonight we were honestly made to feel like part of the family. Well done guys we couldn’t be happier

I recently ate dinner here as a last minute walk-in. Staff were really friendly and food was exactly what you would expect from a Harvester - my steak was perfectly cooked. Unfortunately I received a parking fine after my visit. I called the manager Dominic who could not have been more helpful in helping me sort this out. I will definitely be back and thank you so much Dominic - I'm so grateful! :)

Don't get me wrong, you get what you pay for, the staff are great, but the food presentation is at times very strange. £4.99 for 3 deep fried chicken wings and same price for cold crisps/nachos with big dollops of salsa, cream and Guacamole in an ice cream bowl.

  • 1/5 Brett H. 1 year ago on Google
The staff were good and friendly. The food tasted horrible and the quality of meat was ridiculously bad, especially for the price and the salad bar which has normally been great in the past looked like a bomb hit it and most of the trays where left empty for ages and even the bread rolls tasted stale . which is a shame as it used to be a great family restaurant with good food a few years ago .

Ate at this Harvester a few months back. When our waitress came to our table, we told her that my girlfriend has a gluten allergy, and long story short after potentially ordering some stuff we were told with utmost confidence the bacon bits at the salad bar (and on some of menu items) were gluten free and made of soy. Obviously my gf was overjoyed! Fast forward to 20 minutes later and 1 salad bowl down. My girlfriend was told they actually did contain gluten, the waitress said she was just happy she got back to us before she ate more...(not the point) Waitress seemingly didn't want to tell anyone and was panicked, so when the bill arrived I was surprised to see it was in full. I thought this was poor, it wasn't about the money, but the gesture. Based on that I thought it was pointless arguing and left after paying the bill. My girlfriend had stomach pains and sickness for the next 2 days. We did decide to give feedback to Harvester after we got an email asking for feedback on our meal. After writing this down and not naming anyone (did not want the staff member to lose their job or something) I got a call from the manager who talked through what happened and said he would make plans to ensure this doesn't happen again. He also said he was sorry for the bill, and offered that if we emailed them and make a reservation they would comp the next meal as good-will. He came across well and I was happy with the call, and said to myself I'd give them another go. Fast forward a couple of weeks after, I tried emailing multiple times and tried calling and was never replied to, I was stone walled. Someone saying they will do something, and not sets off alarm bells. If I can't take the manager at their simple word that they would give a complimentary meal, how can I take them at their word that they will put into action any changes they discussed with me to prevent this happening again. I've long since given up, but thought it made sense to write up my experience for others considering eating here.

We have had problems in the past but thought we'd give it another try, mistake! I appreciate there was a table of 12 already there, the wait wasn't the problem my wife's sirloin steak was inedible and should not have been served. The food had all sat too long, the gravy for the chicken had such a thick congealed top but the steak was like an old leather dole, even the steak knife couldn't cut it, let alone anyone eat it, this was obvious when the plate was put down and should have been obvious to the kitchen staff.

We came to the restaurant for Lunch and was greeted by Autumn who was ever so pleasant and showed us to our table. The whole time we was at the restaurant she made sure we was okay and that our food was good. Would definitely go again based on our experience today. Autumn deserves a bonus 😁

We were welcomed and seated quickly. We were served by a variety of young girls and young men. They were all very friendly, polite and efficient. The salad bar was clean with all items looking fresh. The main meals were hot and delicious.

Very good food and selection of meals. Reasonably priced. Service of the drinks was very slow. The place was busy but it should have been quicker. The waitress said that they now served the salad bowels from the bar, but there was no one at the salad bar, so about 6 people were waiting and just ended up helping themselves. The waitress unfortunately got a lot of bad comments from customers waiting who could not understand why they could not fill the bowels themselves. There needs to be someone standing at the salad bar permanently if that is to continue.

Wonderful evening for my sons birthday. Great service from Ruth our waitress who made both my children feel like very valued customers. She treated them as they were grown ups. They loved it. Thank you for a very relaxed enjoyable birthday treat for all my family.

Amazing service from our waitress Ruth, wait for food was quite long as they were really busy but she kept us fully informed and apologised sincerely. We visited the salad bar a couple of times during our wait and a young lad, jack I think was helpful, polite and very accommodating with our extremely fussy kids wanting things to be put in their Bowls in a particular order. The staff in this place are fantastic and I must say the wait for gods was worth it. It tasted great. Thanks for a good evening

The service we received last night was fantastic, couldn’t have asked for anything better. Ruth our waitress was so polite friendly and helpful. The business was really busy she kept us professionally informed regularly offered extra drinks and actual refilled them for us, as well as checking g if we would like to revisit the salad. Along with the apologies for our waiting time.I would love to personally thank her for making our experience extremely pleasant. The service definitely made an enjoyable evening and I will return. Many thanks
