We frequently get hit by golf-balls. I know westwood is not directly reliable per the contract they got all of us that live here to sign, but there is a difference between moral and legal responsibility. 1. There is absolutely no reason that golfers should be allowed to operate a golf-cart and play golf while under the influence of alcohol, something that I have seen in my literal one-time of going there a few years ago. There are profanities all over the golf-ball this time, some real classy folks go here... I won't post it here out of respect to children that might read these comments, but it is utterly ridiculous. 2. Although you do not have a legal responsibility, you have a moral responsibility of keeping residents in the area in which you operate safe. No matter what contract you make people sign, everyone has a right to feel safe within their walls, and your unwillingness to do anything about it is quite honestly disheartening. There has been absolutely 0 effort over the years of doing anything whatsoever to protect residents. Something as simple as a few signs would help! Maybe some sort of safety netting around the course. Of course, those would cost a sum of money, which although are extremely negligible compared to your revenue, would not be financially sensible investments since you will get your clients either way. This speaks volumes about the morals or lack therefore of this operation. 3. We have had incidents like this before, reported them to the shop, and no one made the slightest effort to help us, telling us its not their problem. If I get a response like that again I will go out of my way to make it your problem. Admittedly, this time around the front desk was extremely helpful and reassuring.

I like executive courses and I had the chance to try it today. The ravines are a bit nervewracking and I lost so many balls in those. I liked the restaurant and patio. It was spacious and clean. And did I mention I drove the power cart! It was clean, and the staff were courteous. I'm so glad I rented the power cart, because the hills are bad! I would def come back again. I didn't get to see Artie which was unfortunate :(

Just put together a tournament recently and had an amazing time. Everything went smoothly, from the practice green, clubhouse staff, overall course shape, and restaurant staff. We all had a great experience and would love to come back next year! Staff was very professional and courteous. The course Marshalls in between the 10 and 12th holes was a bit rude and lied to us about it being backed up behind us. There was nobody behind our last group for over 15 minutes.

An accessibility nightmare. I am a full time wheelchair user. I can walk very short distances with assistance but otherwise I rely heavily on my chair. I was at Westwood plateau golf and country club for an event recently and I'm shocked. For such an otherwise high end establishment there seems to be no thought to people of limited mobility. The accessible stall in the washroom is mounted backwards making it impossible for a chair to get in. The hole I was stationed at has no pavement, meaning I had to get assistance hiking up the side of a rocky hill. Chair in tow. Not only that but in order to use the washroom I had to hike back down the hill, get in my car and drive 2km to the clubhouse. I understand it's a golf course, and handicap people are not your customers, but please make an effort.

    Very good food, wicked views

  • 2/5 Josh S. 1 year ago on Google
Giving it a 2 star review because the views are worth 5. That being said, the 3 stars I knocked off can’t begin to describe the terrible condition this course was in. Sand everywhere (appears as though it was aerated recently), bunkers have no sand and are full of weeds and rocks. Fairways are filled with patches of dead grass. Pace of play was slow. I understand aeration is necessary but if it indeed was aerated (I sincerely hope so as it would justify some of the devastating course conditions) then golfers need to be informed and given appropriate discount. $100 is insane for this course. I disagree with the statement below which says that it is a reasonable price. If you want a nice course play Northlands. It’s gorgeous. If you want a goat pasture, this is where you should come play.

Just come back play the course this year again but totally different experience due to the slow play. Our tee time was 3:30 that we should have way enough time to finish the round. However, We “finished” the round with almost 6 hr???!!! And no marshal was showing up? We barely not ended up the last hole until the day totally dark. Asked the front desk when finished and they just said it happened on hot golfing day and because of the course layout blablabla….looks like they literally don’t care about this and managing pace of play is not their job. This is totally ridiculous and unacceptable. Know the rate is fair at early May despite of the “rocky sand”, poor wayfinding system etc. I should’ve given one star because slow play is intolerable. But considering the staff was carrying bags for us when we arrived at the course, I still expect a way better improvement on this course with just little workload. This course should be a top notch in metro Vancouver but apparently not so far.

Course not in great shape. Hard to find places to hit off grass or stand on some tee boxes. Bunkers lots of rocks and minimal sand, grass growing in some bunkers. Our cart had to have a wood block in front of wheel as still rolled when full brake set even (and every hole has a hill). Greens were pretty good and rolled true and cool to see wildlife (baby deer and mom and baby bear and mom). Expected more from past experiences and $120 price tag

My family and I went here for Fathers Day on June 19, 2022. What a disappointment. After we were seated we watched as the several servers chatted at the bar counter ignoring us, to the point that I had to get up and politely ask for someone to please serve us. That person then seemed to be debating with the staff as who would do so - standing and chatting seemed to be preferred by all of them. Needless to say the pattern of waiting for service continued throughout the meal, even having to find the server to ask for the bill. And all the while we were not in a rush - we were simply ignored. The food was also nothing to get excited about - very limited menu selection and all our meals were bland. When we left even the person at the club house's front desk ignored us, when good customer service training would have had her at least say, "thanks for coming". My conclusion is the club house takes their golf playing clientele for granted as a captive market, so the sentiment is, why bother with anything more. Needless to say we will not be back!

Typically play around 8+ rounds a year here. Love how challenging the course it is, may look easy but your better of with a long iron off the tee sometimes. Only thing disappointing is how the restaurant took away the breakfast skillet... Someone pass it on to the chef to bring it back.

1.Bunkers not raked and insufficient sand with many rocks to chew up clubs. 2. Carts are a mess looking like they never have been washed 3. Cart paths very rough 4. Unfilled divots everywhere 5. Price worth it if the difficiencies corrected 6. Nice views

I had the pleasure of photographing weddings at this stunning venue. The high ceilings in all of the halls and ballrooms create an elegant and spacious atmosphere, and the huge windows allow for natural light to pour in, making for exceptional photo opportunities. The outdoor ceremony options and bride and groom session areas are also fantastic, providing an abundance of picturesque settings. The staff at this venue are very helpful, going above and beyond to ensure that everything runs smoothly and efficiently. The quality and variety of the food is also outstanding. Overall, I would highly recommend this venue to anyone looking for a memorable and exquisite wedding experience.

One of the most scenic courses in the lower mainland. Very unique layout, lots of fun holes and unbelievable geography. Would have rated 5 stars, but the bunkers are terrible. Lots of rocks, some were filled with weeds and only a handful were recently raked. Fine for a cheap course but I'd expect better at Westwood Plateau.

I’ve been playing both the executive course and the country club monthly for the past few years, and I am going to give you a local Tricity golfer's honest review. 1. The staff - I don’t know how they have done it but they have been able to attract some of the most caring and innovative group of folks I have ever seen in a golf course. From Jeni and Carson and all of the beverage cart staff (Liz, Skye and the rest of the amazing staff) to the clubhouse crew (Michelle, Brianna and the gang) - they have figured out how to make a place that prides themselves on the guest experience and is very welcome to ideas on how to innovate and improve. 10/10 2. The course has an amazing layout, with some of the most gorgeous views the city has to offer. They do a great job with the placement of the different tee boxes so it truly plays like a different course based on your skill level. You are guaranteed to run into wildlife, which is always inspiring. The tee boxes did need a little bit of love this year, but the crew has done a great job with bringing it back to life. And of course, like so many of this area's mountain courses the sand traps are the one area of improvement that would move this course to a 10/10. 9/10

My husband and I recently held our wedding reception in the Panorama room at Westwood Plateau. We had a fantastic experience and can't thank them enough. Danielle helped us with the pre-planning process and was very responsive to all the changes and questions we had leading up to it. The day of Karen took care of us. She kept everything running smoothly, and she was there for us making sure we had everything we needed. The food and service was absolutely amazing and our guests are still talking about it. Overall, we are incredibly happy and grateful for such an amazing day!

Stunning views and wonderful backdrop. The T boxes are pretty chunked up, sand traps need sand and are gravel riddled, you can’t hit out of them unless you want to risk damaging your clubs, thus they are a visual feature only. Carts are old and over governed need speeding up a little. The in cart GPS is nice, being a first timer here the fly by hole view was nice to have. One warning that popped up on the screen was about the golfer being financially responsible for any damage to the houses that line the course. On tight holes some of the houses are easier to hit than the fairways!!! I say call my lawyer and good luck collecting damages, I didn’t build your house on a golf course!!! All in all NOT great bang for buck $250.00 a round for myself and my son, we’ve played better for less! The views however and some of the holes were unique and enjoyable! Probably won’t be back.

Course is challenging! The drop zone divots confirm this 😂 Enjoy the spectacular views while you wait on every tee box because the pace of play is too slow. Approx 5.5 hours for 18 is too long. People spend so much time searching for balls and slow everything down. You're not finding your ball in a ravine or 2 feet of grass, give up and take the drop. The marshals were super friendly and we're doing their best to keep everyone moving.

I played Westwood Plateau (the full length course) for the first time ever. It was great. Westwood Plateau is literally in the mountains of Coquitlam and the views are amazing. The holes are challenging too. The neat thing is one can choose from a variety of tees. A top pro can choose the back tees at about 6800 yards whereas a newbie can choose the forward tees at about 5000 yards. I went with the middle tees. The conditioning of the course was pretty good for April. A little wet but we played the “preferred lies rule.” They have a super amount of sand bunkers. Unfortunately there were a lot of stones in those bunkers which have to be dealt with. Actually, do you know what the solution is? Don’t hit into them 🤣. There is a hitting cage to warm up but if you want to practice, you’ll have to do that at Westwood’s driving range and Executive course a mile or two away. By the way, the clubhouse is awesome and they have super food. Overall, it was a very nice experience.

Honestly I loved this course. Compared to other local courses the price was competitive. The gps in the golf carts was a nice feature. Pace of play was a bit slow, but hey it’s a perfect summer day so if that’s your only complaint life is good!

This is a wonderful / scenic golf course, but the suggested 4.5 hours to complete a round is unrealistic. If you're lucky, you can do this on a good day on an average 18 hole course. But at Westwood, there is a fair amount of commuting in between each hole. Even though Power Carts are supplied, you can't drive everywhere with them. Oftentimes one must stick to the cart path and park a fair distance away from the green or the approach area and then walk back and forth. On average, one would walk about five or six miles at a regular 18-hole course. When I last played Westwood, my golf watch odometer registered 12.3 miles in total distance covered. Meanwhile, the GPS screen on the cart is always reminding you just how far behind this four and a half hour pace you are on a regular basis. I wish I could power OFF the screen... 5 hours is about right. And even more than that if you wind up spending time hunting for balls in the dense woods and vegetation that surround the course. Lots of wonderful natural hazards! I love shooting over the huge ravines... Sure I get that they want to keep up the pace, and the Marshalls are really great at helping move things along. But don't take away from the pleasure of playing by stressing folks out about the 4.5 hour pace. Unfortunately, Furry Creek does the same thing. There's even a sign on the cart stating a 4.5 hour playtime. Unrealistic given the commute between holes and the treacherous terrain and blind shots that leave you hunting for your ball a little longer. Played a game at UBC with a foursome, and we finished up in 4hr 20min WALKING on an easy, wide open course with few hazards. And we moved along swiftly from hole to hole without delay as our group were all around about 12 handicappers. Golf carts...PLEASE FIX THE PARKING BRAKES. Very annoying given the steep terrain. And what's with the "sand bunkers"? More like gravel pits. Check out the sand traps at Savage Creek. Nice fluffy white sand. Like you see on the PGA tour. That's what you should be using. Given the price to play, I would expect better conditions. And a free bucket of balls at the practice range in advance would be a nice touch.

Expensive for such rough shape. I didn’t hate having to pull my ball from every bunker but cmon now. Could use some tlc for sure

Although I don't golf I do Love this place. Been here for dinner brunch and many Private events in the past. Was just recently at a dinner here and as always the food was fabulous. The staff are always top notch and the view from the Patio is breath taking. Only complaint is the food is kinda pricey but I guess you get what you pay for.

just went to Westwood Plateau last week for the first time in a few years. I am retiring this summer and looking for a club to join as a member. Was disappointed with this course. I was expecting better service. The young lad who was handing out the cart was apologizing of the conditions of their carts. Had to go through 4 cooler box before we found with mold. Went inside to get ice for the cool and they wanted to charge me for the ice. What a joke. Half way through my cart was dying and we called the clubhouse and it took over 30 mins to get another one. The course was in good shape but the service was below average. We played with 2 other members and they were telling us the service has gone down and they only play golf and leave after there game. It was funny because it looked like that every dept was independent from each other and was a sub business of Westwood. Sorry to say that I might come and play 1 or 2 times a year but will not be a member. To charge high rates, the course has to be in great shape and the service has to stand out too. Westwood Plateau has a lot of work ahead if they want to be the premier golf course. Service Service...

The location is nice and the views are spectacular. Greens in good shape but the rest of the course is rough around the edges. Some sand traps unplayable, tee boxes need grooming. Layout is a bit quirky for some holes. I did get a good, mid-afternoon rate so value was decent.

This is a challenging course with tight fairways and peculiar greens. It's very expensive given the condition, and carts are mandatory. Overall the course condition is ok. Long traverse between holes and the driving range is a five minute drive away. Overall, I would expect better for a >$100 round. Beautiful views, especially the views of mt. Baker. The front nine is relentless

  • 1/5 Christopher F. 8 months ago on Google • 2 reviews
They want $124 per round with rock hard bunkers that haven’t had fresh sand in years, and tee boxes that have more patches. Played 3 months ago and it was 5hrs to the 15th hole, where there were 3 groups on the TEE BOX including mine. Ended up having to walk off the course because I didn’t plan to play golf for 6hrs total and said I’d never be back. Ended up coming back today and same thing except 4.5 hours to the 15th tee where again, there were 3 groups on the tee box. I would have expected to finish my round teeing off at 3 with darkness at 7:40. DO NOT PLAY HERE if you expect to play a round in under 5.5 hours.
