Great spot. The boat launch is well constructed and wide enough for two trailers at once for most small lake boats. Moorage on both sides provides a good breakwater while you're trying to secure on the trailer. Plenty of parking and well laid out for trailers. Still pretty busy and crowded on summer weekends. Besides the launch, there are a couple of picnic areas with great views of the lake and a couple of outhouses.

Steve Lake is a damned body of water that has seasonal levels dependent upon rainfall and power requirements. In the late winter and early spring you can find kilometers of sand dunes, great for riding and camping. As the freshet approaches in June, the water levels rise dramatically and the lake more than doubles in size. Stave lake is a great lake for boating, and allows access to areas in a jet boat, that would not normally be accessible. There's great fishing on this Lake and t is a fantastic place to beach camp. The boat launch is located at the South End of the lake, just above the Hayward Dam. The launch is free and there's a fair amount of parking.

Minimal truck and trailer parking. Not much of a staging area. Get very busy at times. The docking area it self is in excellent condition. Easy to use. Deep water to launch in. Patrolled regularly by the RCMP . Gate into boat launch locked at dusk so your car or truck is usually safe over night.

Very good lake. Launch spot isn't too busy, never more than one or two people coming or going at once, and the lake is consistently very quiet. The water has this really cool green color and there's lots of amazing places to pull over and such. Only thing is there's no service on 95% of the lake but that's kind of the idea anyways. Not much to complain about here, the water isn't even cold this time of year

A great view, a good place for boating, water is not that cold so good for swimming season too.

Lots of parking, gravel lot, 2 rocks adjacent to the boat launch. Plenty of room to back in boats and load them in the water. Beautiful location just north of the stage lake Dam on the west side of the lake.

Yet average boat lunch. Beautiful views for sure. Saw a guy fishing as well.

Very limited space but the wait to get on the water was good. If you’re in a hurry go somewhere else and be impatient🤦🏼‍♂️

Excellent ramp and docks. Lots of room for two to three launchers at a time. I like the way they've made the access to the launching area one lane so that no queue jumping happens. Parking is a bit of an issue if you come after lunch, but not impossible. Reservoir that leads to the lake has a decent channel marked to get you to Stave Lake safely (although some more experienced with this lake just go as they please). There are a number of beaches to pull up on if you are adventurous. The water in Stave Lake itself is emerald green and beautiful. Great for swimming in. The launch gate closes at 8 so make sure you get back in time to get your boat out or you are spending the night (which many people do on the beaches). When the road to the ramp has been graded, it's nice and smooth, but when it's not, you'll want to take your time as the road is popular for ATV's and Dirt Bikes and can develop a lot of ruts...luckily the ramp is not far up the road. I prefer this ramp over the one at Alouette as that one can get very busy and the lake I find has more mayhem on it (inexperienced boaters whipping around in the 5km zone etc.).

Nice launch, just watch out for dead heads on the water
