Portmarnock Beach is a Blue Flag beach in North County Dublin. Fingal Council have provided excellent changing facilites, public toilets, and patrolling lifeguards at setbtimes during day. Best time to visit is before 11am and after 5pm on weekends as its gets very crowded in summer months. The beach is clean, very soft sand and is over 4km long. It is shallow and safe but children should be accompanied at all times. There is always plenty of activity, dog walkers, joggers, swimmers, kayakers, Stand Up Boarders no wind surfers, as beachbis probably too crowded and sheltered. Plenty of parking and shops nearby. The views are stunning, Howth Head, the islands of Irelands Eye and Lambay dominant the view, and the Kish further out. Highly recommend this great natural amenity.

The best of beaches in ireland to visit. Best time is summer. Very low tides so you can plan to take bath or swim. You can find kids playing with sand and making 🏰 castle, dogs playing with ball, people relaxing and taking sun bath on the shores. Lots of food and ice-cream trucks are there, but prefer to have food with you. Very clear water and so many 🐚 shells in the sand. There is a shade area to change cloths. Washroom is also there but you may disappoint finding it dirty.

Nice and lovely beach with clear water and very grainy sand. Good place for a swim in the summers or just spend the day. Lot of food trucks around for snacking.

One of the best beaches in Ireland to visit . Perfect time to visit is summer . This place is suitable for a family out. Everyone can relax , enjoy and spend some time with their family and friends . Low tides so swimming and bathing is not difficult ( take precautions before entering water ) . Can have sun bath those who loves it. Children can play and build sand castles. Good place for dogs also . Parking is available nearer road side . Other views are we can see the airo planes taking off very clearly when we are in sea side . Must take foods and drinks if you are planning to visit . Prepare a bag with clothes for swimming too .

In a hot weather it really feels like you are on a holdiday in Spain, also (only at summertime) you can find ice cream and food trucks on the beach. Its a pretty cool place to spend your time. :)

It’s a lovely beach. The entire stretch is lovely for a walk and also a great place for a swim! It’s got a nice green park at the end of the stretch and some there’s spar and koba thai and is just opposite to robs wall park

Please use public transport to access this beach as car parking is very limited. The council do their best to clean the beach every day but people insist on leaving rubbish behind. The far end of the beach in common with most beaches in Ireland is clothing optional

This beach is super clean, nice and long. Great for long walks. Sometimes you can even find an ice cream truck. Usually is not crowded, so you can relax. Makes me feel as if I’m in the North of Spain πŸ˜ŒπŸ’™

Portmarnock beach is probably one of the best beaches here in Dublin. It has a great sand and an amazing view. Unfortunately the water is cold (as expected haha), but it definitely worth a visit. Also, there aren’t a lot of restaurants but there is a public bathroom. I would recommend go to a walk on the beach and then go to Howth to have a nice coffee or a nice meal.

I arrived on the beach at 5.30 in the morning. I was afraid I would be alone on the beach, but at least 50 people were already swimming there! Amazing experience!

Clean, peaceful beach. Beautiful to park you car and walk up to the beach to watch the sunrise. People jump into the freezing cold water on Christmas day and various other occasions. Must try !
