Deals Gap resort is a great spot. Couldn't be in a better location. Good spot to buy souvenirs. They have tons of t-shirts as well. Not to mention it's a great spot to watch all the cars and bikes go by. Don't forget to check out the tree of shame. Very reasonable rates for rooms. My room was clean and service was great. I will be back for sure.

Affordable tent camping, but on a first -come, first-serve basis. Their convenience store is nice, and the premium grade gasoline is barely even marked up. Small shower stalls are wonderful, especially if you enjoy the drive in summer with no AC(to free up a couple HP, naturally)--or if you ride in full protective gear which I highly recommend, as there is a sign warning motorcycles of higher likelihood. And the attached restaurant smells AMAZING!

I enjoyed staying here during my last two trips to the Dragon. I felt safe & the rooms were perfectly clean. The only real issue in staying here is that the walls are paper thin so you can actually hear other people talk & snore. Since there is no cell service on the Dragon I would highly recommend staying here so that you can tell someone you are going on a run & when you expect to be back. This is especially true if you go on runs during the dark.

It is not fancy but it is clean, affordable and exactly where you need it, the bottom of the Dragon. They even have hooks for helmets and gear. Good water pressure in the shower. If you are looking for fancy go somewhere else. If you are there to ride you should definitely stay here. Hang out at the big firepit and share some stories with like minded people, make some new friends. Highly recommend this place if you love riding motorcycles.

I didn't stay here overnight, so this review does not apply the motel part of this facility. Calling it a "resort" is a stretch but this is a unique place you will enjoy if you ride a motorcycle. In addition to the motel rooms, they have fuel, food and a store that you don't want to miss. Buy a T-shirt and a Dragon decal to display on you bike if nothing else. The Tail of the Dragon is legendary, a moderately difficult ride that almost any biker will enjoy. It's crowded on nice summer days and there are numerous other similar rides around the USA that are as good, and some are better, but most serious bikers aspire to come to "Do the Dragon" at least once. Deal's Gap Resort is a great place to stop for a bite, refuel and mingle with like minded motorcycle enthusiasts. And be sure to check out the Tree of Shame where bits and pieces of unfortunate riders are displayed as momentoes of a mishap. Please ride responsibly, the tree doesn't need parts from your bike.

Not to be missed if you are a motorcycle enthusiasts. You can drive the 11 miles, 318 curves on your bike, Trike, car or truck. It's all fun and a great experience. Then have a bite to eat at the Deals Gap store and get your tee shirt and momentous. Recommended!

Well I was just passing through so I don't know about the rooms. It's a great place to hang out and people watch. A lot of weird people hang out here. The food is mostly cafe type. It's not bad but it's not great. The atmosphere makes it worth the visit. If you're a car or motorcycle nut this is a great place to be.

Beware no phone service no matter what carrier you have, but wow, what a great place to stay. All kinds of bikers getting together and riding. Great food at the gas station/restaurant. They have alot of nice biker gear as well.

Very popular shop, restaurant and hotel. Has all your dragon merchandise. Restaurant is decent, bit pricey. Gas station is all premium ethanol free. Staff is friendly and helpful, best times to go to avoid crowds are early morning or late afternoon.

I did not stay here, and only stopped for the obligatory photo oops and souvenirs. The place was essentially overrun with Harleys. Very LOUD Harleys. A fight had broken out in a room between two riders who were yelling quite loudly and ready to throw down. Gas was RIDICULOUSLY expensive, at around $5 per gallon, but you almost have to fill up since there's nowhere else in the area. Lots of good souvenirs, sights to see including the Tree of Shame. I enjoyed my visit other than the obnoxiously loud HD crowd. Why do you people need to do that?

Always enjoy stopping here while down in NC riding. We usually stay a little farther away from the tail of the dragon but we make sure we stop and get something from the store and fill up while there.

We love coming here and hanging out while riding the Dragon. This is an awesome atmosphere to be around with lots of fun things to look at. The general store has lots of great merchandise to buy and the food was decent too!

The staff made an oversight in my stay, however Jud Merrell not only took care of my stay, but went beyond what he should have done to make it right. On top of that the front splitter on my car was loose, and he helped me attach it. Will stay in the future! Best location for the dragon!

Went to a burger place in a recommendation while riding the dragon. Staff was not friendly, I ordered 2 items( hamburgers), and we waited forever to receive food. They were getting out orders for people that came after us. I'm not sure why their hamburgers took priority 🤔 Food was hot but lacked flavor and tasted like frozen patties. My partner visited the gift shop while I waited for food. He said the gentleman was rude to him when he asked a price on a shirt. We decided to go across the street to purchase one. The ladies over there were very nice and helpful if you're looking for souvenirs.

Stayed in the apartment room for the night. It was good for a hot shower, cozy bed, and shelter over your head. The other room had no heat and the heater in the main room barely kept the room warm. There was some mold in the shower but all in all it was pretty clean. Again, great place to stay for an amazing location and a good night's rest. The wifi hardly worked. We couldn't really use our phones to even look things up. The restaurant closed at 4pm so we had to go elsewhere to eat. Which for us sucked because we were riding all day and when we got off the bike at the end of the day, we didn't want to have to leave again. Better planning could have helped us. For the price it was really great but don't expect double tree inn for motel 6 prices. This might be exactly what you're looking for but what we like it was a bit substandard. Our biggest complaint was lack of internet, the mold in the shower, and the heater struggling to keep us warm. Otherwise pretty good stay.

Awesome place to stay if you want to ride the dragon or the many other great roads. Literally make a right-hand turn out of the parking lot, and you are on the dragon. Gift shop with some gear if you need it. Overall incredible service and friendly.
