Stayed for two weeks and had a very poor experience. In my first room the aircon and windows were both broken, after asking mutliple times I was moved to a new room which was directly next to the gym and therefore I was woken with loud dance music at 6.30am most mornings (not sure why this is acceptable in a hotel). One evening (2.30am) the fire alarm went off and I witnessed a very poorly organised evacuation which was extremely concerning. Some staff during the stay were great and others were rude and unhelpful. Rooms and corridors looking very tired and desperate need of repair. The hotel needs a complete overhaul, only good thing is it's location.

The staff in this hotel were excellent, particularly the bar staff, nothing was too much trouble. We went at Easter and there were little colouring sheets for the kids, which was a great touch. Rooms were a little dated but clean and comfortable, good size too. The pool was lovely with plenty of room in the changing rooms. I'd recommend this hotel

The hotel is nice, the breakfast is good and the staff are friendly, however every time we have come the AC in our room breaks and they never fix it, also the shower head sometimes has mold in it. Great location however just needs some better upkeep and it would be 4-5 stars.

The most disappointing experience I've had in a village hotel. I'll start this off by saying I've stayed in village hotels a few times in the past and never had an issue, I've stayed in this one once in 2019 and had a great time... Unfortunately i couldn't say the same this time. Nowhere on any booking emails did they state what time check in was, so I checked the website which said 3pm, so I arrived at 2:30 and asked if there was any chance of checking in a little early, I was told I'd have to pay extra as check in was 4pm? This is the latest check in I've ever seen anywhere, I overheard other customers who were surprised by the late check in times and they weren't told either. Due to this there was a lot of us just hanging around in the foyer waiting to check in for 1.5hrs. When we finally checked in, we had been given a wheelchair access room, which meant everything was very low down. The room looked sub-par, the bed wasn't made just pulled back. There was also a picture of stairs on the wall?? A little cruel to put in a wheelchair access room isn't it? The lift to that floor was also out of order; the room was on the second floor but the lift only stopped on 3 and above, good job I don't use a wheelchair eh? The breakfast the next morning was bland and boring. No hash browns either! I didn't feel like I could bring any of this up at the time because I'd only paid black Friday prices for the room, and felt that this would be brought up if I'd complained about anything. Honestly, I've never had a bad experience with village hotels in the past, they're usually my choice of hotel whenever I go away for a weekend. This experience has left a bad taste in my mouth and honestly feel like I had this bad experience just because I didn't pay full price.

Had a two night stay at the Village Hotel Swansea with a bridal party. The service was quite possibly the best I've ever received in a hotel. A gentleman named Scott and a young brunette lady working at reception at the time of checking in couldn't do enough for us and made our stay an amazing experience. He made the whole bridal party feel extra special the whole time we was there and we cannot give our thanks and praises enough. The room (I opted for an upgrade but due to late nights and alcohol I didn't make it to breakfast 😬) was extremely roomy with everything I needed. It was clean and very comfortable and the bed was amazing! I didn't want to get out of it! I was lucky to be on the side with a sea view and found it to be very quiet. It is extremely close to all the amenities that Swansea has to offer as well as having it's own Starbucks, bar with tv's for sport, a restaurant, gym and pool (although I can't comment on quality or prices as I didn't use these facilities). I would definitely recommend this hotel and would jump at the opportunity to stay here again. Thank you to all the amazing staff for a wonderful stay

Horrible, horrible, horrible!! Please avoid it like plague. The rooms are dirty and smelly. Furniture is outdated. Corridors need good cleaning. The price is not cheap particularly. The breakfast choice is minimal. Half of the time, the cups were not available or hot water was not there. Half cooked potatoes and mushrooms too. One staff covering the entire breakfast lounge of 30 people ! What can you expect. She was running like a headless chicken and trying her best. The room is not cleaned on regular basis and bed linen is changed only after 5 days so if you are staying for less days, be prepared. On top of that, they don’t even do the basic cleaning in the room. We stayed there for 5 days and our room was superficially cleaned only for once despite of requesting them to clean. They leave the dirty cups and don’t bother to replace them with clean ones. The hotel is not particularly cheap so basic standard is expected at least. Very disappointed and would not recommend it.

The room was better than expected, comfortable and clean. The service could have been better at the bar and grill with them not accepting my member discount making it more expensive than it needed to be. The location was good only a short walk from lots of food and drink places. The other staff at the hotel were very friendly and courteous.

A great stay all round. Lots of parking and was informed my booking included free parking. A warm welcome from reception during check in and a nice atmosphere. The room was very large and I was kindly moved to the top floor on my request. The bathroom was great and the soaps smelt lush. The bed was SOOO comfortable I believe it was a Sealey bed. The best sleep ever and I’m a frequent European traveller. The staff at breakfast were so efficient and attentive it lifted me up. The well done streaky bacon was a welcome sight. Very well positioned for access to all popular attractions and my firm at the Waterfront. Thanks all.

I stayed in the Swansea hotel room 217 the night of the 28th of November. From first impressions the hotel looks bad with a big crack on the outside which has been plastered over and not repainted. The room was dirty with hair on the bathroom wall, hair on the floor, dust on switches and on the top of lights. Doesn't look like basic checks are being done or that it has been cleaned for weeks. I'm pretty sure I got bitten by a bedbug at night as woke up with two bite marks. Hallways are tired with dirty carpets paint chipped everywhere. I was woken at 6am by gym music, also I couldn't work in the evening in my room due to gym music. This meant a very tired long drive home. Looking at other complaints this has been going on for years despite many superficial apologies. Based on my stay which was the worst of any hotel I've been in for work during the last 4 years I would never stay in a village hotel again. I thought it'd be worth alerting you to these issues.

Comfy room. Spacious and clean. Decent breakfast, although no apple or orange juice one morning and wasn't told about the choice of eggs either. Thought it was just scrambled. Have to say I prefer to check in with a human rather than self check in, maybe that's personal choice. Would def stop again as location was perfect for the business building I was visiting and only a ten minute walk to the bars in town.

This is a favourite of mine. I love it when work brings me to Swansea as it has three times in the last couple of months. The reception staff are very welcoming and helpful. You do get the impression that they are glad to see you. The rooms are always clean and comfortable. The food in the Village Pub is excellent with very generous portions. The bar staff are also very friendly, helpful and courteous. Well done to all concerned. I’ll look forward to my next stay.

Not happy at all. Stayed for three nights, housekeeping didn’t come near the room despite complaining twice and having to come up & down for fresh towels, toiletries, tea bags etc. weren’t the only ones, others there complaining of same thing. To add insult to injury then charged for four breakfasts (2x2 days) when only one had. I mean it has plenty going for it, I love my sport and location handy for me but certainly spoilt this trip for sure with our four year old granddaughter. Would have to question staying again. On the up side duty manager on last night invited us into restaurant on her whilst room was finally sorted out

Air conditioning not working despite picking a room with air con! Standard response answer "will tell maintenance " Bed was comfy.

Little bit disappointed! All the staff were absolutely lovely - could not have been more helpful. Great location for access to the Mumbles, Langland, Caswell etc. 15 min (easy) walk into Wind St - lots of great bars and places to eat. But - the hotel itself is a bit tired now! Little but scruffy and run down. Our room needed a cost of paint. Big chip out of the bath. Paint worn off on bathroom door. Not massive issues - just not what I was expecting from a Village Hotel. Blackout blind in the room had a metal bar at the bottom that banged the wall if you left the window open - which we had to do because the air con wasn't up to much! Also, we were woken up at 10.30 at night by a delivery wagon at the front of the hotel rattling cages and banging doors - then again at 6 o'clock in the morning by another delivery that announced at full volume that the vehicle was reversing - really annoying! But -even though it served our purpose for the weekend - wouldn't rush back!

Not the best.... I've stayed in a couple of 'Village' hotels, the most recent prior to this stay was Bristol, which is fantastic - great rooms, great gym, great stay overall. I was hoping for the same, however Swansea Village did not compare. Staff were nice and polite, and very helpful but that's about as good as it gets. Rooms were 'tired' and dated, and the gym was not very good at all, and full of big groups of youngsters doing bicep curls in the squat racks. The fact you don't get free WiFi in this day and age still amazes me when I go to a Village hotel though. Location was good for where I needed to be, and for food, I'd recommend a short walk towards the marina and go to a little Thai restaurant called Lotus.

Staff is friendly. Rooms are spacious and clean and the location is quite convenient as it is close to the city centre but far enough to enjoy a quiet walk. There is a nice pub on gh ground floor. It is an ideal location if you have to visit the bay campus.

Attended a dinner. It was OK - no real ale, ran out of Guiness and was a bit pricey. Food was OK (no horse raddish offered with the beef) and I enjoyed the experience.

Very nice swimming pool. Not frigde in the room to keep fresh milk for child before sleeping. Manage to get no fridge options in the Sainsbury closeby. So I guess just minor inconvinience.

The girls at the check in desk were friendly and approachable, they explained where everything was and what times breakfast ran from and to. The hallways were clean as was our room, the 5th floor had a view of the sea which was pleasant. Room overall was clean, bedding was fresh, plenty of towels, hot water on tap at all times. Only afew things that I noticed, TV remote could do with a wipe and one of the bulbs wasn't working. I'd definitely visit again, nice expirence, good price and friendly staff.

Didn't stay the night, only here for a function, but definitely the worst vegitarian and vegan options I've seen in a long time. Very disappointing. That being said, the staff and security were fantastic on the night.

Nice location near Irish Sea. Phenomenal leisure centre with superb spinning and body combat classes. The hotel bar a bit slow in serving but the food was a good quality and quantity.

I did not score for the room as I did not stay. I was only calling in for a quick coffee. It was one of the biggest must I have seen with a good quality coffee. Very clean and tidy with a good atmosphere.

Convenient hotel for central Swansea, but disappointing rooms. The door was open when we arrived (never a great start) and went downhill from there. Plaster peeling away, basin sink didn’t drain, bed was two singles pushed together with a base that was too big, hooks hanging off door, the place needs some big updates. When we mentioned issues to reception we were told that the hotel is going to be refurbished in 2023. Shame because maintenance is an ongoing task, not a one off event. Great gym area and pool, but can’t recommend this hotel.
