I arrived to Basel and the next morning had an eye infection (maybe from the plane pillow)? After two days using polysporin drops with no improvement, I checked with the Pharmacy at the SBB... which referred me to Augenzentrum on the 2nd floor. They were able to see me after only about a 10 minute wait, and the staff... from the receptionist to the Doctor... were able to speak English when my German failed me. They did several tests to make sure the eye itself wasn't infected or damaged and prescribed drops and a salve. Within a few hours there was noticeable improvement. I'm very happy with my experience here.

Best eye clinic in Basel! My experience as an English person has been absolutely amazing! I called to make an appointment as I had irritation and redness in both eyes. I was scared it could be something serious as it kept watering every 10 minutes. The clinic managed to give me an appointment that same day within a few hours which was really quick even though I was not registered and it was my first time being in an eye clinic. I got there a little earlier and checked in with my details which only took 5 minutes. The lady at the receptionist is absolutely lovely and despite knowing that I couldn’t speak German she was very understanding and helpful as she also didn’t speak good English. I was really impressed that she made extra effort to try and communicate in English as to best of her knowledge! Thank you so much for that, I truly appreciate it :) (I wish I knew her name so that I could mention her in my review) The waiting time wasn’t long for first eye testing and the second testing was almost the same time. Overall, I would say I waited 30-40 minutes for both check ups from the doctors. The second check up, I was seen by Dr. Hanne Jacobs. What an amazing eye doctor! She made me feel so comfortable during the eye testing. I explained to her what was wrong with me and she immediately identified the nature of my condition. She explained thoroughly what caused the irritation around the eyes and gave me the best advice to prevent this from happening again. Dr Hanne then prescribed me with antibiotics to ease the pain and redness that was caused. This really shows what a knowledgeable and enthusiastic doctor she is with great empathy and passion towards her profession. Was so lucky to be seen by her as she eased my worrisome thoughts. Thank you Dr Hanne! Overall, I’m super happy with the experience here in Augenzentrum Bahnhof Basel. All the staff are really polite and very understanding towards the patients. I was able to make an appointment even though I wasn’t registered yet. Very helpful and friendly staff that also speak English. Appointment times are extremely flexible, though it can get quite busy sometimes. Overall, a great experience.

I was referred to Augenzentrum Bahnhof Basel after a bad experience at another facility. From the beginning, I felt that the patient is the focus of the Augenzentrum Bahnhof Basel. Before my appointment, I received all the important information I needed in order to have a basis for discussion during the first appoint. Herr Dr. Sachers really took time to discuss with me the different options for my eye operation, and suggested I try different contact lenses in order to make the best decision possible before my surgery. During and after my complicated surgery, I felt very well taken care of and new I was in the hands of a competent team. I was very satisfied with my experience and can certainly recommend treatment at Augenzentrum Bahnhof Basel.
