Very nice via ferrata with different levels of difficulty from K3-K5 with various exit options. Attention: the last exit from the middle section (K4) before entering the last section (K5) should not be underestimated. It is practically its own via ferrata, only downhill and with equally exposed areas. Time required +1.5h.

This was my first time of trying this and it's really worth the experience. It's easy enough with all the additional climbing steps and safety cables, that you can do it. But it's a mental challenge to hang there in the mountain. This makes it exciting. You can rent the equipment to be sure that it's well maintained. You have to pick it up at the mountain station of the train (not the lift). They have a combi tickets which give you a really good price for taking the train/lift up and renting the equipment. They even have a family ticket. My kids enjoyed it. We started with 'Leiteregg' and it took us about 3 hours as promised. You want to trust them that they follow instructions and that they can handle themself there. You can help them a little bit, but most of the climb they have to do themselves. They want to do it again: next time 'Mittler Eggstock'. I look forward to it too :-)

Very well maintained Klettersteig. The transport up to the Klettersteig costs 37 CHF (Return ticket). The last chair lift leaves at 5pm in the summer season which is important to keep in mind.

Amazing via ferrata! You can rent gear at the berghutte at the bottom of the via ferrata if you don’t have it. Very well secured and the best 360 degrees view that is astonishing. Highly recommended!

A great Klettersteig to start on. Some parts a little more difficult but always something good to hold onto! I took my partner for his first ever Klettersteig and he enjoyed it! But i am yet to attempt the K5 at the end!

Great experience! One of the most beautiful Klettersteigs of Switzerland. Not very difficult but a real challenge. Loved it all the way!

Great, easy via ferrata with breathtaking views. I would like to do it again during the week. We were there on a Saturday and there was hardly any opportunity to overtake and the progress was very slow. If you would like to climb a little more sportily, you don't have a chance

The Braunwald Via Ferrata, also called "Eggstöcke", is probably one of the most traveled via ferrata in Switzerland. In July 2020, more than 12,000 people had already covered this spectacular ridge route. The Via Ferrata is made up of 3 distinct sections all interconnected. The first 2 segments are K3 level while the last sector is rated K5 and reserved for experienced people. Since 2020, the via ferrata has been equipped with a new variant at the start. This “Leiteregg” variation is rated K5, very difficult. This is the route we took. Difficulty - K3/K5“Quite difficult/Very difficult” 💪🏻 Strength 4/5 🐒 Technical 4/5 🧗🏻‍♂️ Gas 4/5
