    This is our go-to place for special meat cuts in Zurich. The concept is very simple: you pick your cut of meat from a butcher desk and they cook it to your taste. What makes the place special is that they have a huge selection of unusual cuts: I count some 15 different meats in my pictures. Most Swiss restaurants have just a few cuts: an entrecote, perhaps a rib eye and then a filet mignon. Here you find things like skirt steak and bavette (both favorites of ours) as well as the usual suspects. Picking the cut of meet is the hard part: after that there is a simple choice of fries or baked potato. You can have a salad as a starter. We obviously like the meat here, but I wish they would put more effort into the side dishes. Having a great (homemade, like in restaurant Schnupf!) sauce Bernaise would elevate the experience. Another pain point is the prices and in particular the way they are presented. The prices are very high, even for Zurich. You can see them on the pictures: don't be fooled by the signs on the right, they are only for when you buy the raw meat and cook it at home. I've never seen anybody do this and the restaurant should really just remove those signs for the evening guests. You end up paying around ~30 CHF per 100 g, making even a small 200 g steak cost you ~60 CHF. When you pick the meat, you talk with the butcher about the weight, not the final price. The result is that I repeatedly end up picking more than should and I end up being disappointed with the final biss. It's the same trick used by super markets when you mix candy yourself — except that you can put the candy bag away and enjoy it equally well the next day.

    One for the meat lovers. The concept is you pick your beef from the solid variety of cuts / beefs available at the butcher counter and they are then cooked and served over multiple courses to share with your table. The only seasoning is salt and a chimmichurri sauce is available on the table if you want it. To accompany your beef, you also get a choice of salad or bone marrow to start and subsequently a choice from four sides which included baked potatoes with cream, veggies, Creamy spinach and crispy chunky fries. There are also a handful of desserts to choose from including caramel flan, cheesecake and chocolate fondant. We tried the japanese A5 Wagyu 100g which was tender and tasty. Swiss (?) Black Angus Ribeye which had an insane marbling that took it very close to the wagyu and the Angus "secret cut" which was somewhere between fillet and entrecote (definitely leaner and thicker than others). All the steaks were delicious although I wasn't as big a fan of the secret cut - preferring the more marbled varieties - just a matter of personal taste I suppose. The only downsides from our visit was that it takes a long time for the whole experience to unfold. For us we took c.2.5 hours from start to finish and spent some stretches waiting without any food. I understand some of the slowdown is due to the corona measures but it would have perhaps been a good idea to offer bread (which was given with our first course) or something else as an appetizer whilst waiting. Overall this is one of the better steak experiences that Zurich has to offer and would highly recommend.

    Great selection and quality of meats. They really know their craft and help recommend a mix that works well. We were a group of 6 and tried a variety of cuts, all of which were amazing.

    Holy shish kebabs was this experience and place amazing! We didn't make a reservation (recommend you do though) and were able to get a table. The restaurant is a combination butcher and steak house, where you choose the cuts of meat directly from the butcher case. The process: 1) You start off selecting appetizer drinks and bites, which we declined because we wanted to get to the main entree and wanted to be thoughtful about how much we could eat. 2) Next you select the meat from the butcher case. They tap you when it's your turn to go up and select the cuts you want them to cook for you. There were two prices, the higher being what you pay per weight on your bill at the end. The butcher was knowledgeable, transparent and made sure we were comfortable with the total weight. 3) You bring the meat tab to your table and order your side dishes. We ordered a nice red wine (glasses) and their french fries as a side. 4) They poured the wine first, then shortly after they brought our cooked meat and side dishes out all at once. They had sea salt flakes and chimichurri sauce to use with your meat. 5) Devour and enjoy your dinner! Honestly it was such an interesting way to have dinner. I loved that we saw and selected the meat we would eat. Everything was cooked perfectly and full of flavor. The price was very reasonable for the level of service, quality of food and drink, and a unique experience. Highly recommend.

    Super friendly service and amazing food! We had steak from Switzerland and pork from Spain, although they have such a huge selection that we would gladly come back for more. We also enjoyed the bone marrow and salad. Fries were okay. We went on a Wednesday for dinner and made a reservation beforehand (a must!)

    This was totaly awesome. Best meat i have ever had in my life. Just let the cool butcher choose for you and you will have the very best meal. Staff also so friendly Dont forget to book. Its very popular.

    I will long time remember the experience we had at this place. Service makes you feel so welcomed, the bone shot is tasty and a fun way to start a great evening. Overall, the meat was just wow! I can only recommend wagyu! It was a memorable experience! Must visit for meat lovers.

    Food, quality of Meat and knowledge of staff truly outstanding. Try the bone marrow and the Swiss Flat Iron. Prices for F&B in terms of quality ok, but service is a downer. After the greeting and order taking - wich was done ok - we had no attention and many mistakes took place. From wrong sauces to mistaken sides and beverages - nobody seems to care - and nobody asked either. If your playing in the champions league you should know the game!

    Great atmosphere and food. If you love meat and have a budget of chf 150 to 200ish to spend per person then you can't go wrong here. Really recommend trying bone marrow + shot if you haven't tried it before.

    Williams ButchersTable is a butcher shop and restaurant at the same time. It is the Nr. 54 World’s 101 Best Steak Restaurants 2023, Nr. 63 World’s 101 Best Steak Restaurants 2022 and the Winner Best of Swiss Gastro Award 2020.     One of my go-to places in Zurich. The friendly butcher at the counter has matched me up with the perfect cut each time. The Swiss dry-aged entrecôte was fantastic. Be sure to make a reservation— this place is popular, and it’s conveniently located near Bellevue.

    Stumbled on this via Google and it was really a great find. Butcher was really good to share the special cuts and introduced the black Angus off cuts. We had the hanging tender and off skirt cut. The sides were great too, loved the old cow beef tartar and the champignons. Really good and attentive service. Be ready to come during off meal times or make a reservation!

    Very nice atmosphere. A bit hipster tho :D The staff was very friendly. Most of all, I would like to emphasise the top quality of the food. There is a meat showcase where you can get advice according to your taste. I really have to say that this steak was the best I have ever had. The only negative point: the prices are even higher than the meat quality

    I came in for a simple lunch and had the most amazing experience. The staff were helpful, polite, very nice, attending to my every need. Mario, the Butcher is excellent at his craft the Australian Wagyu was perfectly cut and then sent to the amazing kitchen staff who obviously know exactly how to cook a steak to perfection. At the end of my dinner I had what Mario told me would be a meat, dessert, Japanese A5 Wagyu, thinly sized, prepared by the Swiss in the style of an Italian ham. (Please forgive me if I miss quoted), This was one of the best things I have ever tasted in my life, and I have spent a life working in fine dining. Like seriously almost brought tears to my eyes. If you ever have the opportunity, I highly recommend stopping in, talk a little smack and enjoy every bit.

    Best steak place I’ve been to in Zurich. Fantastic food, excellent service, and nice vibes. We went with a group and did a tasting type of menu which was more than enough food. Probably pretty pricey but overall worth it.

    Rene our waiter was fabulous! We had so much fun drinking champagne and the steak was perfect done! What a cool place and great service! The waygue dry meat with spinach was devine!
