This place is completely underrated. In combination with the playground of the neighboring restaurant, it is a wonderful excursion destination for young and old. The trains and surroundings are very lovingly designed and you can literally see the joy of the many volunteers. The very low prices are probably not cost-covering. There is heart and soul in this.

I visited the place about 10 times by now, typically on weekend afternoons. Even though the Dampfbahn claims to be open on weekends, only barking dogs were greeting my little son and me each single time. Not a pleasant experience. Even if they actually run trains there, we never had a chance of witnessing that.

Very nice place to ride a steam locomotive with your nephews.
