Well worth a trek. We hiked from Bellwald to Fiesch. A 10km hike. Very quiet route and was happy to see no others on the bridge. It does sway a bit.

A very exciting moment to cross the suspension bridge during our walk from Bellwald to the remains of the glacier nearby the Grosses Wannenhorn. The walk itself was intense but certainly worth the views surrounding the bridge. The bridge hangs about 90 to 100 metres above the valley and provides an exquisite view. Maybe not for the faint of heart but very safe to cross and also suited for children. Only i would not recommend to walk from Bellwald to the bridge with children. The path from Bellwald to the bridge is challenging, sometimes technical with steep climbs or descents. For people with somewhat experience in walking or trekking it's a satisfying route to say the least. Lots of diversity in the type of terrain and 'obstacles' to overcome. If you're really in for a climb, you can also take the alpine route close to the nearby Berghütte. This blue/white route descends into the remains of the glacier. A really impressive view from down there but be prepared for a steep path through a gorge with (loose) stones scattered on the way down.

A stunning bridge, but one that can only be crossed by those with an extraordinary amount of guts. If you suffer from a fear of heights, you should not cross this bridge because it is very tall. But if you do, oh my lord the view is spectacular and your chest pound with excitement and nervousness. Certainly suitable for any and all risk takers.

We walked from a parkinglot in the town of Fieschertall. Expect a sturdy 5 km hike to the bridge from that point (and back again). You need good shoes, a good condition and enough to drink and snack so you can rest at some of the many amazing viewpoints during the hike. My twelve year old daughter told me she hated me on the way up, but she enjoyed the price of walking (even running) across the bridge several times. If you arrive early I think there will be less people. We had the bridge for ourselves for a good half hour. Obviously if you are afraid of heights this place should be avoided, or it might cure you instantly of it!
