We went up with the Sunegga train and hiked back down to Zermatt. No view is available during the ride, but when you arrive up there you will be given an amazing few.. The hike down to Zermatt was quite easy... And along the way we enjoyed the very beautiful views... A must go when you visit Zermatt...

We went up with the Sunegga train and hiked back down to Zermatt. No view is available during the ride, but when you arrive up there you will be given an amazing view! We also got the cable car up to Blauherd where the 5 lakes hike starts! For the funicular and cable car it is 40 chf or £37. The hike down to Zermatt was quite easy... And along the way we enjoyed insanely beautiful views and visited all 5 lakes... You can’t really get lost because the hike is signposted every time there is a new turn. Take your swim costume if you want to have a lake swim! Yes, it is allowed. A must go when you visit Zermatt.

We only visited two places while trekking to Lake Sunega. The trekking took about 2 hours, and the nature was so beautiful while walking that the time passed quickly. When trekking, prepare water and snacks!

We visited in July 2022 and had an amazing day. We caught the funicular up then stayed a few hours at the lake before heading back down on kick bikes via one of the restaurants on the way down for some food and drinks. Lovely weather and the lake is full of fish and frogs. My kids loved it 😁

Absolutely stunning view of the alps from 7000 ft in the air! I was sad that the day that I was here, the matterhorn was covered by clouds, but it was amazing nonetheless.

Great Base station to grab a view of the Matterhorn. I walked back down to Zermatt, good paths and restaurants to stop off on the way

Definitely the best part of our Zermatt trip. Not the hardest hike, but not a casual walk in the park either.
