Seeing the cheese making process is amazing. They have everything labeled and you can watch the cheese being made in real time. The staff is very accommodating. Food in the restaurant is ok. The local specialty pear based pie is a must try if you like spiced fruit, otherwise the ice cream and fruit cocktail would be better suited. Wear shoes suitable for walking in a field so you can take a walk the the large specimen tree at the top of the hillside behind the factory. You can see the entire valley from the hilltop. For the kiddos there is a fun playground outside.

Looking for a dreamy cheese museum then look no further. One of the highlights of our trip! Loved watching the videos they had and seeing cheese being made. The interactive herb making was fun too. Would visit again to try more cheese.

Great experience for a fair price – very friendly staff. At around 12fr /adult you get to enjoy a great self-guided tour of the factory (with translations available for all exhibits using a QR code and free wifi), a sample of 4 different types of their cheese, a small bag of mixed herbs you get to make at the end, and a restaurant with tasty options near the end. Would highly recommend this to anyone interested in the cheese-making process where they do it best.

I loved the Appenzeller Schaukäserei. It was a great experience to understand the Swiss cheese culture and production. We booked a normal entry to the Schaukäserei and got cheese samples to try the different types of Appenzeller. It was great! At the end we took some cheese to enjoy at home. Appenzeller is delicious For more follow me on IG: foodstagramando

Highly recommend a tour of the cheese factory! It’s interesting, informative, and you get a little sampling of cheese. You can see the milk and cheese being processed, pretty cool.

They have a self guided tour which includes cheese samples and a view of the cheese making process. They also let you make your own herb combinations to take home. It was interesting and delicious!

Great place, amazing staff. And please, when you go: have lunch in their restaurant. The food is delicious! And the people playing regional songs... that is way more than 5 stars only :) in times like those we are living, our hearts deserve to go to a place like this. I am already indicating it.

You should go there before they finishes the last cheese making, its before 3pm. It is very interesting to see how they do it. Its not a short thing and you need to stand to see down to the process. It is not a big place to look around but good the know things. They give a few small samples of cheese and a little bag to collect herbs in the end. After that you shop tons of cheese. They have parking and playground for kids. People can also eat inside and outside too. For me it would have been better if you can see more action about cheese...in different area...but it was good too.

Love it there! Nice place where you can see how traditional suisse cheese is made. Delicious cheese and other goodies.

Great experience from a local cheese maker. After a brief covid check, everything was mostly normal. Our kids loved trying the different cheese types and making their own herb blend. The day wrapped up with a fondue and was the perfect way to spend an afternoon. Only recommendation would be to keep the restaurant open later.

One of the better cheese making tours we have seen. They used QR codes to let you read displays in English. Recording would have been better but that worked too.

The tour consists of a few stations. You learn how the cheese is made. With some interesting facts and a view into the factory. While the tour isn't super long, you're given a box of six cheese samples. You consume the cheese along the way. The cheese is really good. Really really good. At the end you can fill your own small bag of herbs that you can keep. Another highlight is the shop at the end. Full of local delicious food and drink. Really enjoyed the experience. Highly recommended.

Nice experience visiting the cheese factory, the food is good but don’t expect something special, it’s a typical swiss food, I enjoyed it. Staff is very friendly and helpful.
