Coming from the Blümlialp it is still quite ok to walk but at some point it simply becomes quite dangerous. Narrow to no footpath and the ropes are super loose. I went there end May and turned around half way. Maybe in summer the path is better maintained and one can try. No doubt though that the views are stunning.

The path is closed for the moment because of massif active rockfall, still it’s doable. You have to go past a few warning signs and fences, for me it was worth it, but those signs are not there for the fun, It stil is a risk.

Breathtaking hike around a breathtaking lake. Be wary this is a relatively difficult hike (T4), very exposed and sometimes narrow, so don't take your kids here and only do it if you are sure-footed and have some hiking experience already.

I don't recommend trying a full circle around the lake, it would be too difficult or impossible

Currently the only way up to Fründenhütte is passing by here. The other way at south side of the lake is closed. As the way was renovated in Jun 2020, the condition is good. Safety equipment is suggested but not a must.

100% you should have a harness and via ferrata (or daisy chain and carabiner like we used). There are cables in all of the exposed areas and the views are unreal. There are some folks that take this path without safety devices and were just fine, but my thought is why not take the precaution? My trip partner has a fear of heights and did very well when hooked up but was much more nervous on the final ascent to the Frundenerhutte. This section was the highlight of our six days on the trail. Would NOT recommend dogs, children, or anyone not sure footed. You’ll know from the start how you feel. Many wore helmets to avoid falling rocks. We saw one fly by but didn’t have helmets ourselves.
