Visited Foundation Beyeler on a sunny Spring day and it could not have gone any better. The art museum was hosting a Wayne Thiebaud exhibition at the time of my visit. The exhibition was exceedingly beautiful. I liked that the description of notable paintings were printed on little pamphlets in various languages so you didn't need to crowd the painting to read more about it. The museum building had nice architecture and open windows and the garden was a pleasant place to rest or draw.

The Hopper exhibition was great in terms of the selection of artwork, but it was a shame that the curation was very weak. There was no meaningful information or clear organisation of the spaces to allow a deeper engagement with the artwork or the artist. The written guide was superficial, solely descriptive and lacking any insight, critique or analysis. All of that would have been fine as the art was still wonderful to see, but on top of this the staff at the ticket desk were fantastically rude, unhelpful and unwelcoming. A very pleasant museum, clean with friendly staff. The art is very interesting and there are some explanations in English, German and French for some of the art. The Georgia O'Keeffe exhibition was very well presented. There are also some surprisingly cheap gifts in the shop and a beautiful park outside!

Good exhibition but I was a bit surprised there was no written information only audioguide. I suspect this is so everyone moves at the same speed but I'd rather read on 15 seconds then spend time with my own thoughts than have to listen to the same content over 2 minutes. Some of the paintings had highly reflective glass which made it impossible to see them fully 🙄

Very pleasant few hours spent here. Spacious and airy. Georgia O’Keeffe exhibit was on.

Tucked away in the Swiss border city of Basel, Fondation Beyeler is a 25 min bus ride from the train station(luggage storage available). It has a well curated collection that goes on rotation. The ticket costs 27CHF as of Aug 2022!!

One of the most beautiful museums I have ever seen. Amazing exhibitions, great collection, unbelievable garden outside the museum. Definitely worth to come, must see ❤️

We didn't go into Fondation Beyeler but instead did the free 24 Stops walking tour which starts here and goes into Germany to Vitra Campus. The Maps are available from the kiosk. Highly recommend.

Splendid space set in a wonderful garden that backs up to truly picturesque pastures and hills. The building, designed by Renzo Piano is a pleasure, giving ample light and space for the curators to present the collection, whether from the permanent collection or visiting works being shown at the moment. Special commendations to all those that made the current Wayne Thiebaud retrospective possible!

Impressive collection and exhibition space. The Niko Pirosmani exhibition was a highlight. Definitely worth a visit.
