This is a very well done museum with a lot of great interactive elements. It's a nice mix of indoor and outdoor activities and is great for kids! Easily accessible by public bus and there is a lovely park and lake view across from the entrance. Note the the Swiss Chocolate Experience is pretty weird and could use some improvement in efficiency. We did enjoy the virtual reality experience and the film.

Really good museum for all kind of ages. For people that like different kind of transportation and are intrigued how it works, you could spend several hours in here. When we went there was an exhibition of Red Bull Racing Formula 1 cars. It was really nice

Super. This place is one of the best programs to do in Lucerne (especially on the cold and rainy days). It is open on Sundays, indoor (mostly), a lot to learn about vehicles and transportation, and it is highly suitable for families. We are going back again this year, the seasonal ticket is super, certainly recommended if you live in Switzerland.

Quite pricey (compared to other museums) to be honest but it’s worth a visit. Most of the attractions/vehicles are very basic but they are good for pictures and interesting to see from outside.

Great location to spend a whole day with family and/or kids. It is a pure fun place especially for kids. They learn lots of interesting topics such as transportation or communication. We got the annual pass in order to visit the place several times per year.

Excellent and is what it says on the label! Great MG car collection. The place also has a good cinema that often live streams from the Met.

Great for kids and adults who are really into transportation. I thought I’d find out why the Swiss have such an intricate system of trains but it was a lot of history of each type of train and not so much how it links together. Be prepared for school field trips and kids running around.

I simply LOVE THIS PLACE Full day of enjoyment, learnings, experiencing, fun and much more both for adults and kids Don’t waste your time, JUST GO THERE 😍😍😍!!!

What an awesome museum for the kiddos! Allows you to take a peek inside the methods of transportation throughout Switzerland and also gives you a full history of the system. There’s a really nice gift shop and a cafeteria with lots of seating room. Very easy to get here if you take the cruise over from central Luzern. Only a 2 minute walk from the cruise. There’s also a cute park close by.

Best interactive museums I have visited. Plan to stay there for at least 3 hours if you want to carefully check all the rooms and exponates out there. Big parking near the museum. Plenty of different transport types and various models for every class. Must be visited.

(Translated by Google) Today I visited the Verkehrshaus with my partner who is originally from Ireland. What I found very positive is that everything is written out and explained in English. 👍 He was super excited about everything. Me too of course. What we found a shame is that you have to pay the full price but cannot use many things because of Covid 19. This is not labeled anywhere when you buy the ticket. Therefore we only give 3 stars because the ticket was 32fr per person which we found very expensive.

The best place to explore about transportation. There has most of vehicles models, miniatures, simulators and open area. Good to go alone or with families. There also has restaurants, several restroom, mini theater, and also mini classic car show. Kids also can ride in mini train in real railroad and so others playable mini mobile vehicle. And you can also buy some collectable miniatures in the gift shop. Worth your time to be there a while.

Squeezed visiting the Swiss Museum of Transport(Verkehrshaus der Schweiz) before we left Lucerne. We had the Swiss Travel Pass and we received 50 percent off the entrance fee. This museum is huge and amazing & has so much to offer people of all ages. There are hands-on experiences as well simulated experiences. It’s one of the best museums that we have been.

A museum that you MUST visit in the country. All about transports past/present/future (cars, flying things, space, boats, trains, etc) with many interactive activities well suited for adults and kids. The museum itself is quite large and can easily take a full day to visit if you like reading through the information panels and doing all the activities. But along the museum are the planetarium, with films projected on the half sphere roof (~45min) and a giant IMAX playing pretty nature films (wild life, pretty landscapes, etc) and a Lindt chocolate tour. It's best to plan the full day from the opening time, and to be efficient once there. The price is high, but given all the content it's very honest. The museum has a restaurant, bar and lockers for clothes/bags.

Very interesting interactive museum with lot of things to do for the kid. It is worth of spending a day or even two. Large car collection, several aircrafts and even some boats. Many interactive attractions, but some work only during specified time. The coolest part is railroad history, with some steam engines displayed in perfect condition. Kids can also learn how steam engine works. Great place!

I would highly recommend a trip to the Swiss Transport Museum. There is so much to see and do here, you can spend a whole day. We went as a couple but there were lots of families there and loads of stuff for kids to do. I was impressed by how many interactive exhibits they had, which were very fun. And of course, don't miss the Lindt Chocolate ride and the chocolate tasting in the shop! We didn't have time to fit in the theatre but wish we had.

Excellent museum. I could spend entire day in each of the pavilions. There are also a lot of family oriented and kids oriented activities. A must if you visit Lucerne, definitely high in the list of tourist attractions. But a warning - if you are a transport enthusiast, plan at least a day in order not to be disappointed. After the museum is closed a walk around the lake could be enjoyed in the evening.

Love this place, a lot of interesting information, the museum is divided into different sections: railway and maritime transport, aviation section, another section is designated for cars and motorbikes. In each section there's a simulator of a vehicle that you can drive. There's also a Planetarium and chocolate adventure, which explains you how chocolate is made, after excursion you get some delicious candies. Strongly recommend this museum

Cool place with a brief description of the Saint Gothard tunnel construction process. The best part is with the trains and the car lift with a Lamborghini Miura place on one of the shelves. (Translated by Google) The house is really getting on in years. The whole system is out of date and it is not easy to deal with large numbers of visitors. It's really bad at Lindt's chocolate adventure. The additional admission price of CHF 16 alone is a cheek and, in my opinion, out of proportion to what is on offer. Then they offer time slots, but you have to stand in a row and then suddenly the slots are not relevant. After a few complaints, there was a second round for those who already had a ticket with a time slot. Some noticed and took advantage of it. That in turn led to great dissatisfaction in the queue. People were waiting in line for up to 90 minutes - also because things are moving extremely slowly. Due to the corona, they only let individual groups onto the car. If one were to introduce compulsory masks, something could also be done there - or Plexiglas could be installed between the rows of seats. The staff was extremely hard-working and friendly, but hopelessly overwhelmed and without assertiveness. Not recommended! It's not that good either, and you can get the delicious chocolate in the shop for much less than the fare.

Large museum with lots of topics covered in a number of buildings. Swiss Museum Pass only gives 50% discount on entry tickets. Ticket prices are very high and everything is paid extra, e.g. chocolate experience, planetarium. There's no decent restaurant, only busy and hectic self-service bistro with very mediocre food.

Media World was a complete scandal, a 15 min attraction, mainly advertisement for Red Bull who's the official sponsor of the place, to avoid at all cost. They refunded us by offering a place at the planetarium which was a lot better and a nice move on their side. The museum of transportation itself is a nice place, just avoid the advertisement tour by Red Bull...

This is a fun place for the family visit: plan to spend there the whole day! We stayed there for 6 hours and it wasn’t enough, however, everyone had good time! Outdoor activities for children are super cool: the construction site, the children’s railway, the jumping site, the carting - all are meant to be tried, so plan the time accordingly. Nice cafeteria to get a pause and re-energize. There are also two picnic areas if you prefer to eat your own food. Wheelchair and stroller access and convenient and clean WCs with changing tables for infants.

The exhibitions are exciting, in good condition and there is a lot to see from historical to current. Certainly not cheap in terms of price, but definitely appropriate for such an experience. (Translated by Google) Who said museums are boring? A great place to spend it with children. Many aspects of physics can be shown and explained clearly. Various examples of the action of physical forces are given, which helps the child to draw certain conclusions why this is so, and not otherwise. In one day, we visited only two rooms and a planetarium. Everyone liked it: both adults and children. I consider this a must-see place for both boys and girls. It is good for locals to purchase a subscription and have fun with children. I wanted to get to other offers of the museum, but we were limited in time, so we know where we will definitely go when we are in the city again (Original)

Great place to spend a complete day with the kids. Lots of interactive activities, simulations, interactive boards, experiments. Disorientation simulator is amazing ! TCS karts had success as well as chocolate experience. Fortunately for us the place was pretty empty due to particular covid situation. Definitely recommend this place for families !

It was a shame that we arrived an hour before closing time, as it turns out it closes one hour earlier since winter time (5 pm). So in the end, this visit was a bit too rushed in order for us to gain a true opinion and experience of the place. Wow, did it impress though. It had every major category of transport on display with incredible detail and interactive & dare I say, futuristic displays. It's the perfect place to bring your kid(s), with plenty of fun things for them to try out and play with. It is by far the best museum I can imagine a child, or even adult having a great time at! However, the experience was sadly not really tailored enough to people outside the languages of Switzerland in my opinion, except for the fact that the staff who could speak some English. If you're ever in Luzern, be sure to check this place out! You can quickly and easily walk here from the train station or take a bus.

(Translated by Google) Very well done, varied areas on the extensive topic of "means of transport". Many interactive systems such as B. Have a crash test done with you (like on TV!) Afterwards you can have the "film" sent to you by email. There is also a large permanent exhibition by Hans Erni, which is really interesting. The car exhibition with many beautiful, old classics makes the heart beat faster for classic car fans. We were at the Museum of Transport for a total of three days because after three or four hours of viewing we wanted to take a break and do something else. In any case, we thought it was very good, varied and often really exciting.

A must do for people interested in cars, aviation and transport in general. Exhibitions are still the same as 10 years ago, but there‘s some new stuff as well now, but in the winter a lot seems to be under construction. Prices for adults are also way to expensive.

Shouldn’t be missed if one is in Luzern, however it is even worth a 1-2 day detour if you are a fan of transportation or have kid(s) to entertain. It’s designed for all ages from about age of 5. Interesting way to teach children about the way the world works when it comes to transportation. There is even more than stories / exhibitions about kinds of transportation. Planetarium, VR climbing, etc.

The best transport muzium I ever been. It is so informative and proactive which not many muzium has. My young kid, my teenage child even myself enjoyed it. Our 2 hours plan visit at opening hours end up whole day until it closes. 😁😊🤩

Great museum , both adults and children will enjoy equally. If you wish to see everything it will take 5-6 hours. Trains, Ships, Cars are all displayed and various functionalities are explained very innovatively. There is a chocolate museum, planetarium and documentary shows as well. An amazing place and a very informative visit.

Overall the visit was well worth it. They have good collections and exhibits of planes, trains, cars and ships as well as other interesting displays. Given the many different exhibits, the ticket price for the general admission is ok. However stay away from the the chocolate adventure. This was a big disappointment and way too expensive.

This is our one of our favourite museums - plenty of indoor and outdoor activities for the kids and adults. All kind of transport - trains, cars, helicopters, bikes - will be interesting for all family members. Planetarium is another option with the great shows. There's a nice café available on site :) Do not forget to book your tickets on the website, you will save plenty of time

Rainy day - a very good option! Sunny day- still a very good option! Yes its worth to see… if you accept the prices in Switzerland. Two adults plus one student plus one child- 190€ … wow this is alot!

The Museum was an amazing experience. It offered a fascinating journey through the world of transportation. The exhibits were informative and well-curated, providing a deep insight into the history and evolution of various modes of transportation. It was not only educational but also a lot of fun, making it a great outing for both adults and children. Additionally, the convenience of purchasing tickets online and receiving a map upon arrival enhanced the overall experience. I highly recommend visiting this museum to anyone interested in the world of transportation.

What an amazing place - you could easily spend a full day there. Walking up, you are greeted with a gigantic tunnel boring bit - something one would NEVER expect to see! Once inside, it is hard to decide where to go. Air, sea, cars and trains are all there. Many of the exhibits are interactive - the kids loved them. Totally fascinating.

Fantastic museum about all kind of transportation - trains, cars, ships, planes, balloons, you name it. There are so many activities for everybody no matter their age. I wish I had more time to spent there. P.S. skip swiss chocolate adventure

Great place for kids to spend the whole day in, especially the planetarium, and the various activities that kids can do in the road, rail, and water transport sections. Loved the sweet sweet engine smell in the auto section, and so in the train section. How I wish that the museum combines the current museum with carefully positioned miniature working models like Smilestones, to make the experience more fun.
