Dies ist ein historische Ort der sich in der Altstadt von Solothurn befindet Punkt es ist schön dass ein großer Platz davor ist. Somit kann man das ganze schön betrachten auch wenn zur vollen Stunde das ganze Geschehen losgeht.

It is the oldest building in Solothurn. It dates back to the 13th century, while the astronomical clock is from around 1545. At each strike of the clock, 3 automatons parade, one represents death, one a knight and the third is a king sitting on the throne with a jester's hat. The skeleton empties an hourglass and shows it to the knight, as if to remind him how ephemeral life is.

Beautiful, it is worth stopping to observe all the features of this tower. There is a nice explanation of all the details regarding the clock hanging on the wall. Monument well maintained in all its details, beautiful, shiny, brilliant and clean. The details of the window above the clock are nice.

The medieval clock tower is in the old town.....very beautiful

Literally a contemporary witness from the 13th century. Is supposedly the oldest building in the city of Solothurn. The figures that move every hour between the dial and the astronomical clockwork are also very impressive.

Solothurn is one of the best cities in Switzerland, architecture wise.

Wir waren ein wenig enttäuscht als es 11 Uhr war und nur der Glockenschlag zu hören war und ansonsten nichts geschah. Erwartet hatten wir ein Glockenspiel und dass sich die Figuren bewegen würden. War nix.

Der Glockenturm war ganz mit Folie eingekleidet, es war nichts zu sehen. Er wird wahrscheinlich renoviert. Auch sonst hat uns Solothurn eher wenig begeistert. Sehr viel Verkehr mit entsprechendem Lärmpegel. Als Tourist und Fussgänger empfanden wir die vielen Velofahrer allerorts zum Teil als recht rücksichtslos. Man wusste nie so recht wo man überhaupt in Ruhe gehen kann. Was ein schöner Tagesausflug werden sollte war eher langweilig und stressig. Nach 2 Stunden sind wir zurück zum Bahnhof und haben uns enttäuscht auf den Heimweg gemacht. Das ist uns bis jetzt noch nie passiert, schon gar nicht bei einer Kantonshauptstadt. Schade.
