A good place to have a walk around the village during summer time. Peaceful swiss village full of natural discoveries places!

Witi Altreu, small village has a lot to offer, Its interesting to see almost every house has a stork nest on the roof. Its very lively to observe storks. There are observatory decks and a information centre to explain all the details about migratory birds. Play area for kids keep them busy for the whole day. Many recreational walking paths around, short walk along the river Aare is pleasant and also lot of picnic spots for a day out.

A small info centre and gift shop. There are lots of giant sized multi coloured rabbit sculptures dotted around the area for some inexplicable reason. It would be way more interesting if there was a tower that visitors could go to the top of to perhaps view the Storks during the breeding season. I'd certainly pay a small admission charge for that.

A great experience with brilliant opportunity to see storks in the sanctuary and surrounding roof tops, easily accessible from local travel hubs Solothurn and Biel by both train/bus and a river boat during the summer months

Lovely for a summer stroll ;then you get see all the storks.😉 not recommended on rainy days - too many mosquitos and those annoying tiny flies 😋 . [In the winter uyt is pretty cozy as well ❄️] You can walk various routes depending on how long you want to be on your walk (min 30')
