St. Peter is one of the four main churches of the old town of Zürich, Switzerland, besides Grossmünster, Fraumünster, and Predigerkirche.

St. Peter is a church located in the city of Zürich, Switzerland. It is a Roman Catholic church that is dedicated to Saint Peter, one of the twelve apostles of Jesus. The church is located in the Old Town area of Zürich, near the Limmat River. It is a prominent landmark in the city and is known for its Gothic architecture, which dates back to the 13th century. The church has a rich history and has undergone several renovations over the years. It is a popular tourist attraction in Zürich and is also used for religious services and events.

The biggest dial of all the Landmarks from Zurich. Stunning to watch during the day and astonishing through the illumination during the night.

No tickets are required to enter the church, but you won't be able to enter after 6 pm. The inside is pretty small and very quiet. You'll find signs on both sides of the church detailing the history of the church and it's significance towards the protestant reformation, especially in Switzerland. However, all the signs are in German so expect some difficulties if you don't speak German. A church associate was present in the back of the church to answer questions and help you on your visit.

St. Peter's Church in Zurich is a stunning landmark that is definitely worth a visit. The architecture is simply breathtaking, with intricate details and a mix of Gothic and Baroque styles. In addition to its impressive architecture and artwork, St. Peter's Church is also a place of spiritual significance for many people. The peaceful atmosphere and regular services make it a great place for contemplation and reflection. Overall, I highly recommend a visit to St. Peter's Church.

Very nice historical church visited as part of a tour group unique story behind the clock and if you look closely you will notice that 4oclock is written as IIII and not IV. According to the tour guide the daily work schedule was from 8a-6p and people were not as literate back then so too often people were quitting at 4 (IV) instead of 6p (VI) so they decided to eliminate any confusion and make 4p be IIII

It is oldest of the four main churches of Zürich. It was built on the site of a temple to Jupiter and former churches from before the 9th century. Rudolf Brun, first independent mayor of Zurich, was buried here in 1360. The Church’s steeple's clock face is the largest church clock face in Europe. Its diameter is 8.7 m. There are five bells dating from 1880 in the tower – the largest of which weighs over six tons without its clapper.. In initial days, the church tower is also used by Fire police.

I must give four stars to this church cause the interior is so simple and nothing woow. On the other hand the bell tower with biggest clock diameter in Europe makes it possible to be seen from far corners of Zurich. So you will always know what time is it.

This is a quiet holy place , less crowded. One can easily walk inside , pray and view. We went inside and also sat on chairs outside.

The church looks grand with its own plaza, where you find some benches and a nice wooden table, under tree shade. We had a nice food break there.

St. Peter is the oldest parish church in Zürich. In addition to that this church has the biggest clock face in Europe. The bells date from the 19th century. If you walk from the train station I think it will take you about 20 minutes to get here. Even though it does not attract as many visitors as the nearby churches in Zürich, it is definitely worth a visit.

the oldest Church in Zurich. Where important people work here in the past and the famous mayor was buried. It has been used as a fire watchtower in the past. History lovers can visit the tower architecture and history due to its history.

Nice small church. Their claim to fam is there clock is the largest in Europe measuring in at 28’. Cool to see if in the area but don’t go out of your way. So much to see walking endlessly up and down the streets aimlessly.

One of the symbols of the Zürich skyline, this church is really beautiful. Check if you can take a guided tour of the clock tower, whose clock face is the largest in Europe. To reach the top there are about 150/160 steps: from there you can enjoy a wonderful view of the city.

The church & the architecture of it was very peaceful & there was a lady inside playing some unique musical instrument inside. I would recommend to go there when the music is playing as its a treat to the ears.

St. Peter's Church is visible from all over the town along with other two Churches of Fraumunster and Grossmunster, making it an important and distinctive part of Zurich panorama. It has the biggest clock face in Europe, but I found it very simple and nothing extraordinary. Moreover, the interiors left a pretty disappointing impression when we entered. The Church is on Limmat's right bank, on an elevated position near the Lindenhof view point, so be prepared for some walking uphill

Simple. Laid back. Not crowded. Organist was cool.

A great reformist church to visit. The organ sounds fantastic in the nave, as the surrounding walls are paneled with hardwood and render surreal acoustic effect. Look for a organ performance if you are not in a hurry, and enjoy the powerful and soul reaching play. The ancient clock on the tower is enormous and a landmark standing tall at the high grand of the city. Highly recommended!

A historical church that is quite different from the other Zurich churches, in that when we visited, the door was left opened with no one manning it. We were able to explore the interior on our own and there was also no entry fees. The church is also quieter than the others and felt more peaceful.

(Translated by Google) Since it was a tour, I didn't go sightseeing in Zurich. When you see the Limmat river when you cross the pedestrian-only Mulestech Bridge, From the right, there were St. Peter's Church, Fraumünster (Basilica of Our Lady) and Grossmünster (Cathedral), which made a nice view. St. Peter's Church is the closest, I couldn't see the big clock in the tower because it was too far away.

Backpacker here. I took a long walk coming from the east, through the cute little towns and across the bridge. On the other side there were cute little shops and a meringue shop. I went over to St. Peters church but it was closed. Overall the walk wasn't bad. Switzerland has unpredictable weather (in my travels of the country) rains every day. Keep dry.

(Translated by Google) The oldest church in Zurich and at the same time the cutest. First of all, I mean her tower with a huge clock, which for some reason seemed to me like wide-open, surprised eyes. By the way, the clock was installed in the 16th century, and for a long time it was the largest outdoor clock in all of Europe. They are going right now. However, for Swiss watches to go inaccurately - it's some kind of perdimonocle!
