The Gorges of the Jogne offer a refreshing and accessible hike in the heart of a green countryside. This famous hike winds through the Gorges de la Jogne, a river formerly called Jaunia - La Froide. In the heart of a lush nature, hikers discover a haven of freshness while walking along this sometimes narrow path. Along the river, the path connects the village of Broc to the Montsalvens Dam. Wooden bridges, tunnels and galleries enhance the hike, which turns into an adventure for both young and old. Picnic spots are available along the path, for an energising break along this family trail. Architectural wonders highlight the path. In Broc, the Jogne River flows into Lac de La Gruyère at La Maison Cailler, the Swiss chocolate factory founded in 1898. Further up the Gorges de la Jogne, you will find the Montsalvens dam. This structure, which dates back to 1921, is the first double arch dam in Europe. As you walk along it, you will be able to admire the sublime view of the Jogne Valley and the Dents-Vertes de Charmey

Relatively easy, refreshing and accessible hike/walk. It is accessible by public transport, stop Broc Le Home. And also has a free parking at the beginning of the path. To prolong your hike, you can do a circular path that start and end in the parking. Or go to the village of Charmey along the edge of the Lac de Montsalvens.

Magical misterious place worth every single step to the top - parking is just fine - leave everything behind and simply enjoy the hike through the wonderful place where you actually can’t get lost physically but allows you to get rid mentally of everything you need - I felt energized after the walk simply worth the hike - the elements can give you so much back - discover for yourself 🙏

We accessed the gorge from the town of Chatel sur Montsalvens and thoroughly enjoyed our walk. Some parts are quite steep and may be wet and slippery so watch your step. If you are careful it's not a problem.

Beautiful place to enjoy. Just make sure you wear proper hiking as the terrain gets rough. Make sure you visit the rivers close to the start

It was an awesome hike. A bit scary since it's winter and some parts of the oath are frozen, but it's breath taking. I wish to come back in summer

Beautiful but not accessible with a large camper van. There is a tunnel of max 2,5 height and width.. so campervans be warned! There is a space to pull to the side before the tunnel, in case you find out too late

It was a really nice trail, for family walks. It is not that difficult. We went through the main trail all the way to the dam.
