We made reservation for dinner at this classy restaurant with a group of friends. The place was vwere nice and elegant. The butler and staff were friendly. We ordered not many dishes because some of my friend got jet lag (just arrive from oversea flight in the morning). The starter was good, the French Onion soup was too salty, Smoked Salmon was OK, Cordon bleu was OK but a little salty, the steak was OK. Overall, it was a good meal with grat service but the taste was not very good as we expected. Moreover, the meal was pricey though.

Was on a group tour stayed for 4 night's.first night meal was 9 /10 in main restaurant, 2nd night moved to breakfast room and was 6/10, ate out 3rd night after disappointing meal. 4th night 7/10 aga6in breakfast room. Service and staff were very good. But standards had slipped after first night. If booking go for alacarte.

The food at this restaurant is delicious, and cooked with precision. Portions are generous and the ingredients used were fresh, particularly the oysters and the lobster tartare. However, what made the overall experience so memorable was Sebastian, who was professional, helpful and humourous. I highly recommend this restaurant to people who live in Brig or are visiting Brig, it is a must try!

I was hungry and had just been refused by the only two restaurants open in Simplon Dorf on my way back from Italy. So I phoned "des Cheminots" and found out they had a single table still available, that I reserved telling them I would be down from the pass in half an hour. What a good surprise to find a restaurant these days that serves oxtail with mashed potatoes just the way I used to cook it when I had little money and eight hours to surveil the cooking, i.e. when I was a poor student. The menu is interesting and even features a couple of elaborately cooked vegetarian dishes as well as well chosen high quality local, and foreign wines. There are three dining areas and the public appears to be "who is who" in Brig. I chose a turbot cooked to perfection accompanied by a high-end Petite Arvine and followed by a Pear Tatin. A delicate ox muzzle was served as "amuse bouche". The staff is expedient, observes when your glass is empty and has a good and discrete sense of humor. On the way down the flight of stairs to the perfectly kept toilets you can admire previous famous guests like a couple of former Swiss presidents. Food is rather expensive but in line with the quality offered. Highly recommended for a night out on the town with your beloved one or good friends. I will certainly be back for the oxtail before the end of the month. As promised, we were back before the end of January to taste the oxtail as well as a vegetarian dish, traveling to Brig from Lausanne and back by train with my daughter this Sunday morning. We had reserved a table for lunch but had not expected to be given the worst seating in the more than half empty dining room in the norther part of the hotel, squeezed in between another couple and the breakfast buffet, and staring at the industrial Hero jams and piles of plates. The waitress appeared to have been recently hired, the bread sucked and portions were small (two vertebral tail segments only!). Much of the praise we gave after our previous visit was unjustified this time.

Had a lovely experience in this Restaurant, very friendly staff and attentive. Nice ambience, the food is very nice ! The fish is definitely their strong here, it is amazing. The meat was good but a bit dry, the rest was absolutely delicious. Amazing wine selection, really nice !

Amazing food superb service ! We crashed to this restaurant waiting for our train to Milan (autoverlad) The service provided by the restaurant personnel was superb . Best of all we were able to have a wonderful dinner and make it to our train

Great food. Loved the perch plate even though it was a little under in the salt for my taste. The restaurant was packed so there was a long waiting time for the plates.
