This was our least favourite place we’ve had on our trip. If you got only the big shared dormes I would say don’t go. It is very crowded, stiff and not nice to stay in. The dinner was nice, I loved the fondue. The service is not amazing but not too bad. Payment is only in cash.

BEWARE TMB HIKERS: they don’t have a bivouac area anymore!!!!! We had read in our guide and in our map that they had a camping area outside the refuge. We even asked some locals at Champex before getting there and they said they did accept people camping (like many other refuges on the TMB route, btw). We got there after a very tiring, hot day of hiking cos we wanted to do the bovine route to Trient and we were simply told that “they don’t do the camping thing anymore” without any further explanation! It was very annoying because there’s not so many camping places in the Swiss part of the TMB, we had to turn back and hike uphill another further 40 mins or so to get to the Relais d’Arpette. Otherwise, the place looked cozy and nice, but can’t comment on that since we didn’t stay. They should really advertise that they don’t have the bivouac area anymore.

We wouldn’t recommend staying here. Try to find alternative accommodation (E.g. in Champex Lac). Dinner was very basic (watery soup, cheese fondue) and breakfast too (cereal/cheese/salami/bread). The bedding in the dorm didn’t seem clean. The staff serving dinner were very nice but the management staff were unfriendly and took our payment before we saw the room (we understood why afterwards).

Our stay at Gite Bon Abri during the Tour du Mont Blanc hike was a true gem. Idyllic Location: Nestled in a picturesque setting, the gite offered a serene escape. Superb Staff: The staff couldn't have been friendlier, making us feel right at home. Private Single Corners: We opted for the private single corners for some added privacy. The room's curtain allowed us to separate our space from the common area. Enjoyable Dining: Dinner, featuring soup, salad, and cheese fondue, was a delightful culinary experience. Overall, our time at Gite Bon Abri was enjoyable and provided the perfect blend of comfort and natural beauty. Highly recommended for TMB hikers seeking a tranquil retreat

Best place I've stayed while Hiking, great energy. This Lodge is a lovely Swiss chalet surrounded by nature with stunning views. The experience is exactly what we had hoped for, simple service done well. It's run by this young energetic couple Gabriel and Vanda who are passionate about what they do. Great location, clean & cozy. The food was delicious, Swiss fondue served with fresh bread from the local bakery which was the star of the evening for me (They also pack lunch for the next day as an option, perfect for us :). The building has been there for over 110 years, is perfectly situated in the mountains and has these lovely stained glass windows. Do yourself a favor and stay here!

If I could give 0 stars I would, the to-go picnic was a joke, 2 sandwiches with nothing in them except for 1 slice of cheese and 1 slice of pickle... Absolutely unacceptable for hikers. And the supper was absolutely pathetic as well. Skip this place if you can. We had the roughest time hiking the next day for lack of nutrients.

Friendly hosts, clean accommodations, and great fondue dinner. Fair price considering the location in Switzerland. No option to pay with credit card but they’ll accept Euros

The service is good and the fondue for dinner is also good. The rooms and showers are clean. I would love to stay again.
