Summer
ski
(early
september
2023)
Bought
the
summer
ski
day
pass
to
include
in
a
nice
Zermatt
day
trip.
Sadly
the
weather
conditions
forced
me
to
do
it
on
a
sunday,
which
severely
increased
the
crowd
level.
Since
the
cable
car
station
was
partly
under
construction,
I
had
to
wait
30min
at
a
ticket
counter
to
get
my
pass
I
bought
online.
Included
in
the
summer
ski
pass
are
the
way
up
to
Glacier
Paradise,
the
glacier
paradise
itself
and
all
open
ski
lifts
on
the
glacier.
The
ride
up
is
very
scenic,
as
you
go
over
the
glaciers.
You
can
take
amazing
pictures
at
Trockner
Steg,
from
the
gondola
and
the
glacier
paradise
viewpoint.
If
you
want
to
go
to
the
restrooms,
note
the
the
ones
at
glacier
paradise
charge
2chf.
The
ski
runs
were
well
groomed
and
snow
conditions
were
perfect
(heavy
snowfall
the
days
before).
Though
it
was
not
enough
snow
for
the
run
to
Trockner
Steg
to
be
open.
The
ski
lifts
that
were
open
were
not
too
busy,
no
long
lines.
There
were
many
professional
skies
training
there.
Gladly
the
new
plateau
rosa
gondola
was
finished
and
you
could
easily
return
to
glacier
paradise.
After
all,
it
was
a
nice
experience,
but
a
kinda
stressful
and
expensive
one.
Cool
experience
to
once
ski
in
summer.
Just
to
let
you
know:
doing
a
Zermatt
ski
day
trip
by
car
is
a
terrible
hussle.
First
you
pay
expensive
16chf
at
Täsch
parking
lot.
Another
16
for
the
train.
Summer
ski
pass
was
around
90chf.
And
the
gondolas
are
2km
from
the
train
station
(so
either
buy
a
taxi
or
walk
with
your
ski
gear)
