This is a fab place to go for a first date - loads of choice, relaxed and casual surroundings and it is very popular. There are lots of different cuisines to explore and lots of places to buy drink too. The domed ceiling is really impressive too. I was a bit shocked by the prices considering it is mostly street food - more than 20 francs for a main course generally, but food is expensive in Basel generally.

A global foodmarket located in Basel which truly represents the vibrance of the city. We visited for lunch today and the variation of dishes and the vendors is amazing. We went for a mix of South American dishes along with Persian vegetarian meal for our meal and it was amazing. The pricing was as expected for Switzerland but the portions and the taste was great. It's also pet friendly so we took our dog with us. Highly recommended if you wish to mix up the platter.

Of course I can’t review it just based on what I ate since in there, there is a LOT of different foods. I only tried out the ones I saw as interesting. I wanted to try a lot more but I can only eat so much. Based on what I saw and ate I would rate this place pretty well since out of the 5 stuff I ate I like 3 of them. Tho I gotta warn since a lot of places only take cash (I have no idea why). This is probably my only crisis. Also u gotta be careful where you step since there is a lot of up and downs, it will be marked but still whem you carry around food around a crowded place I can easily imagine some accidents happeneing. Which is why I give atmosphere 3 stars.

What a find in the centre of Basel. A wide range of different cuisines. My group and I enjoyed good sized portions and every one was hugely satisfied with not only the food but also the presentation of the food. Highly recommended.

Great place if you are not sure what to eat or go with a big group of people! So many amazing choices and tasty food around the world you can experience. Lunch hour can be super crowded and I would suggest to get there 12pm sharp otherwise you may have to wait in the long queue. They also close on Monday evening so good idea to avoid visiting during that time. The Thai booth, Vietnamese booth, and seafood booth are the top 3 personal ranking!

Great place for a quick bite, with lots of different world cuisines and little stalls. There's a great cocktail bar and a lovely wine bar inside and some open spaces for people to sit and enjoy their meal. When I was there, there was also a space which held a wine tasting and seemed open for everyone to join.

A very Cool place for a great deal of variety of food cross countries, offering delicious food with very acceptable pricing (lower than restaurant price in Switzerland). A true value for money choice.

The best thing in Basel, reflecting its cosmopolitan nature, with food from all over the world and authentic at that. We had Japanese, Argentinan and Ethiopian and all the best Street market versions of those cuisines we had ever tasted. The lemon tea at the Italian place was superb! The cafes all stock their local drinks too! Quick service too plus bars abound and a superb atmosphere on a Saturday evening. Plus a great slide for the kids at the staircase and good toilets. Wish we lived here just for this.!

Pretty good food hall, lots of choices. We got the Ethiopian spicy chicken from the Ethiopian food stand, and the Pad Thai from one of the several Thai food stands. The Pad Thai didn't quite have the right flavor, but I'm used to having very high-quality Pad Thai. It was still very good and the presentation was great - they give you like a whole fried egg on top which is nice. Plus no extra charge for shrimp and it had some nice big shrimp. The Ethiopian food was great - spicy but not insanely spicy, very tender chicken. Lots of seating available and clean, even at pretty close to peak lunch hour. Reasonably priced too, especially for Switzerland, which is super expensive in general. The coffee shop is very nice, lounge-style with sofas. Just look at this latte macchiato.

Nice place, good atmosphere, a lot of different cuisines. Lots of places were closed in the afternoon, however, so not a lot of choice if you want to eat between ~3pm and ~6pm. Had some thai food; big portion, tasted decent, not so friendly staff.

This place seems like it's not that cheap at first, but compared to the rest of Basel, the prices are fair. There's a diverse array of cuisine on offer. I recommend the Afghan food for vegan options. Cool Beans is also a safe bet for drinks and baked goods.

A great social venue in the heart of Basel. A range of over 20.internatjonal street food cuisines including many vegan options - prices between 15 to 25 Chf per plate. Many specialist restaurants for seafood and local produce. Also used for holding exhibitions and community events as well as an indoir Flea Market at weekends

Lively atmosphere with lots of options to choose from. I would 100% recommend this place. We chose Vietnamese for dinner. The food is delicious, the portions plentiful and the pricing was reasonable for Switzerland. Unfortunately the only icecream place in the Markethall accepted cash only, so we were a bit disappointed.

I think it’s an awesome concept! This is was we have back home in Asia - Malaysia for instant… It’s a one stop centre for everyone to get their food of their choice and I’m thrill that the ‘food court' concept is beginning to find an opportunity in Switzerland- Basel So, when you get here of course you don’t have to worry about getting a place to sit. You have ample ti choose from. Then you’ll get to choose any type of food from around the world! So awesome and the price I would say a couple of Francs cheaper….! Of course during lunch some Stall do have long queues so be prepared to wait a little You’ll need to clear your own plates which is fair enough and there’s a station for you to bring all your used dishes to. Drinks, dessert and even a supermarket is all here! There even an event hall and in the evening weekends you’ve got salsa and others events to look out for! If you’re around the vacinity, drop by!

Amazing place with different food stalls. I tried ceviche in “La Magdalena Peru” and it was amazing! Highly recommend! I have a 4 years old daughter and there are some areas for the little ones to enjoy and play while we had our lunch.

Ethiopian food - Check Thai food - Check Israeli food - Check And it is all delicious! Love taking family and friends here because everyone can get what they want to eat and come together happy! It is close to the Bahnhof so you can eat and run. Personally I come for the Ethiopian stall!

Great food court with loads of choices. Loved that there was the usual - Italian, Indian, Thai… but also some more rare cuisines - Afghan, South African and Ethiopian! We went for the Ethiopian and we’re we’re not disappointed. Great vegan options at a number of places. Plenty of high chairs for kids and changing facilities. Also places to play for older kids. Loved it!

Loved the variety of food available to try. A bit expensive I would say for the quality you get. But helpful shop keepers. Lot of vegetarian options. Check timings before you go. Sometimes it doesn't open early and we had to wait for so stores to open up. Clean and neat. Easy to get a table. Location is easy to find and accessible with a short walk from Basel station.
