Great
location,
along
the
lakefront
with
beautiful
views,
right
next
to
the
former
League
of
Nations
headquarters
(President
Wilson
was
a
key
to
its
history.)
The
hotel
itself
is
a
modern
glass
and
steel
building
with
nice
floor
to
ceiling
windows,
too.
The
rooms
are
generally
well-appointed,
although
no
coffee
machine,
despite
the
hotel
folder
saying
you
get
4
espresso
pods
(nope,
and
no
machine,
either.)
The
public
areas
are
airy
and
beautful,
with
lots
of
flowers
and
art.
A
highlight
is
several
massive
old
tapestries,
which
are
wonderful
and
fascinating.
There's
some
interesting
modern
art
as
well.
The
hotel
breakfast
is
very
nice
and
through-out
the
hotel
service
is
attentive,
just
as
you'd
expect
for
a
property
like
this.
The
elevators
are
small
(holds
about
six
at
a
time)
but
operate
very
quickly.
We
were
booked
into
here
as
a
part
of
a
Viking
River
Cruise
"extra"
tour
of
Switzerland.
The
building
seems
to
have
had
an
"at
any
cost"
rennovation
about
a
decade
ago,
as
evidenced
by
the
wired
phone
in
the
bathroom
and
an
older
40"
non-4K
Bang
and
Olufson
TV,
$8,000
in
its
day,
but
electronics
age
so
quickly.
I
would
have
been
happier
with
a
$2,000
4K
OLED
TV
...
AND
in-room
coffee.
Make
no
mistake,
Geneva
and
Switzerland
are
expensive
places,
but
I'm
glad
our
stay
here
was
via
a
river
cruise
package,
as
I
wouldn't
have
found
it
worth
it
if
I'd
booked
it
on
my
own.
The
hotel
is
close
to
both
the
lake,
a
lot
of
the
international
organizations,
and
parks,
the
closest
of
which
includes
a
museum
of
scientific
instruments.
A
couple
blocks
behind
the
hotel
(i.e.,
away
from
the
lakeshore)
is
a
street
with
lots
of
restaurants
(many
Lebanese
/
Middle
Eastern),
a
Coop
grocery
store,
and
we
found
several
moderately
priced
restaurants.
If
you
go
much
further
than
a
couple
blocks,
you
can
find
yourself
in
a
seedier
neighborhood,
we
felt
fine
walking
through
there
during
the
day,
but
there
were
a
lot
of
bars
and
streetwalkers
and
I
doubt
I'd
feel
safe
there
after
dark.
(Having
said
that,
keep
in
mind
that
this
is
generally
a
very,
very
safe
city.)
We
enjoyed
our
two
nights
at
the
hotel.
