This was an incredibly wonderful experience - we were particularly blessed by spending New Year and New Year's Eve here. It is warm, cosy, welcoming, fun, highly professional. Food is excellent. New Year's Eve Dinner was superb. We were thrilled with the splendid array of food and I must mention the little 'jugged' shrimp, the perch and above all the eel. The moment the front door whoosishes back to admit you and you go up the 2 steps, you are in a very special place. Each staff member knows and understands the concept of hospitality. You know and feel that each staff member has been very carefully chosen to make the experience wonderful for you and for them.... I mean the rapport and the good humour and warm interaction between staff members themselves was indicative of the underlying philosophy of this great place. The room was excellent in its layout, its proportion, its furniture and decor and above all its comfort. We loved the Jazz themed rooms, so aesthetically done. We loved Marian's Jazz Room and the New Year Concert with the dynamic Al Copley Quintet... What a blast! We're they cooking or what!! Unique indeed is what defines this wonderful place. This home beyond home. This place of magic and joy.

Mal was ganz anderes. Das Jazz Hotel holt einen raus aus der aktuell Zeit und versetzt einen in die 50ger Jahre zurück. Alles ist hier stehen geblieben. Die Zimmer das Design, die Einrichtung alles sehr alt und nostalgisch. Das ist absolut nicht negativ gemeint. Es hat einen ganz besonderen Charme. Wir haben uns echt sehr wohl gefühlt. Das Personal ist Soooo freundlich und die ältere Dame, wir gehen davon aus, dass es die Cheffin ist, hat den Laden super im Griff. Von der Terrasse aus kann man über komplett Bern schauen. Echt super. Vielen Dank für den super Aufenthalt in der Vergangenheit.

Our third stay at this unique hotel - lovely location set in a garden with a beautiful view over Bern to the Alps. Fabulous breakfast. Timeless elegance and an oasis of tranquility only a short distance from the center of Bern (excellent regular bus service). Most enjoyable!

Sehr freundliches Team. Zimmer sind sehr atmosphärisch. Nicht modern eingerichtet, aber nicht abgenutzt. Sie passen zur Atmosphäre des Hotels. Kleiner Tipp, beim Frühstück für den Preis könnte man noch Semmeln statt dem Baguette zum selber Schneiden anbieten. Sonst ist das Frühstück OK. Komme gerne wieder.

Das exzellente Essen (Fleischgericht und vegan) wurde nur durch eine hervorragende Servicekraft übertroffen: Melinda bediente uns mit einer unaufdringlichen Herzlichkeit und professioneller Leidenschaft, sie vermittelt dem Gast das Gefühl, Bedienung sei ihre Berufung. Und zum Schluss wurde mir sogar noch meine liegengebliebene ÖV-Karte auf dem Parkplatz kurz vor der Abfahrt nachgebracht. EinTop-Service - Danke! Wir kommen wieder! Freundliche Grüsse Gabi Märki

Basically a nice location with a beautiful view over Berne. Unfortunately, a bit run down, the hotel and rooms need refurbishment and investment. Overpriced.

Wir kommen schon seit mehr als 20 Jahren in das wunderbare Hotel Innere Enge und geniessen jedes Mal die schönen, komfortablen Zimmer, das exzellente Essen in der Brasserie Josephine und das stets perfekte Service. Die ruhige Lage mit einer atemberaubenden Aussicht auf Bern und die direkt vor dem Hotel stehende Bushaltestelle (kaum 10 Minuten zum Bahnhof), sind ideal. Und die immer hinreissenden Konzerte im Marian Jazz Club!!!

Der gute Service täuscht nicht darüber hinweg, dass das Hotel in die Jahre gekommen ist. Leider war am Tag unserer Ankunft das Restaurant geschlossen. Positiv ist noch zu erwähnen, dass man mit dem Code des Hotels den Nahverkehr kostenlos benutzen kann.

One of the best music room's to hear live music

Beautifully situated, with a great view, overlooking Bern. A wonderfully themed hotel with lots of classy ambience. Its pretty much out in the green, yet the town is in 20 min walking distance or take a bus that stops right at the hotel in 5 minutes. There's also a mini golf with a cute small coffee shop (check the pastries!) on the premise. I can highly recommend this hotel.

Clean rooms, provides 2 bottles water, still and sparkling water, free of charge. Quiet, free bus to city centre every 10 minutes. It takes about 5 minutes to city centre, quite convenient. A large field of sunflower near bus stop. Can take nice photos there

Nice and spacious room. Dinner is good. Not perfectly quite in the morning because very close to road. Overall should have got 4 star. However, there was a wedding going on last night here. People so laud right outside in the garden until 12:20am at night! And making laud noise when they left maybe at 2am at night. Management should make effort for quite at least after 11pm. Such noise is not acceptable for a 4 star hotel.

Great location offering superb view on the city's oldest part as well as the Alps. There are two different menus to choose from. Meals are reasonably priced and almost every plate comes with a small size choice. Staff is very friendly, knowledgeable as well as forthcoming.

We loved this place. Wish we could stay longer. Jazz hotel concept is great. Restaurant food average, waitress brusque but efficient. Hotel was ridiculously overpriced and that's a big drawback. But staff were great and we appreciate them.

With the best overview of the Alps and unique Marian's Jazzroom

I rarely give 5 stars to hotels. The Innere Enge deserves it. Away from the typical-pasteurized-business hotel, you find here a true personality, not to mention the passion for jazz. Room 26 is a little museum and tribute to Eddie Condon, the legendary banjoist of Chicago Jazz. You are welcome in a place that looks more like the mansion of a person of taste than a hotel. A vintage xylophone proudly shows its scars in the stairway. The Restaurant, Josephine Brasserie, offers delicious traditional Bern specials the staff speaks five languages and the moment makes you forget all the worries of a busy business day.
